Just sent ya a friend req. :)

*Note- I threw berries on there, more for information purposes. Anytime I feel like having blueberries (my kryptonite, I confess) I am hoping that whopping 21 carb total reminds me to to just chill the hell out and back away. LOL!
-
Awesome. Thanks!!
-
Fit_Goat level! I love it! lol Thanks for the advice, friends. I think I'll try counting at total and see what that does for me. :)

This is awesome. You're awesome!

This is accurate. I forego chemical sweeteners (aspartame, etc) in favor of grade b maple or honey, I can tolerate some dairy, like hard cheese and grassfed butter, but cannot have whole milk and heavy cream only on occasion. I still don't eat potatoes even though those are occasionally ok for a primal type person. I aim…

Good info! I avoid the artificial stuff too, and take the carb hit from grade b maple or raw honey if I need to add a sweetener to something. Happily I can say that I have FINALLY grown used to my BPC without any sweetener. :)
-
I'm totally going to try this. Thank you! :)
-
Mami- I special order everywhere. My favorite is a burger with bacon and cheese and avocado, and then ask them to put a fried egg on top. Everyone just looks at me like I am crazy....and then say "wow that DOES look good" when it comes to the table. LOL
-
SO many of these!
-
Granny- THANK YOU! I am definitely trying that Chicken Divan. I was just thinking about what I was going to make for dinner. Perfect. :) Wabmester- Glad you liked them. :) Thanks for adding to the dbase.
-
oooh! I definitely have to try that!
-
I use 1 T. of grade B Maple Syrup - sweetens well without being too sweet- you just have to be sure to really mix it in with the coconut oil- it wants to separate.
-
Mami- these were pretty good! I can't wait to try the same coating on zucchini and asparagus. They kind of had a tempura like texture. Let me know if you try them! :)
-
What a great thread. And what a great reminder- I need to practice patience and perseverance too. -
-
This group is the BEST. Much love to all of you for the support, information, kindness and general awesomeness!! <3 <3 <3

For the most part I think I am a paleo keto type creature-- or maybe primal keto is more accurate. I have been able to tolerate a bit of dairy here and there, with coconut and other healthy fats being my main fat source. :)

All of the advice you have received so far is excellent. You couldn't find a better group of people to help you with this. Take a deep breath, you can do this. :)

I think a huge part of it is this instant gratification mentality that seems to surround much of the new to lifesytle change newbies. The quick fix is oh so tempting, and if you believe the hype about ANY diet, well, bring it on. Fact is, whatever you choose to try- it will take time, it will take patience and it will take…

Yes!

How do you define just doing low carb? What would your macros be?
-
Start with the keto calculator to get a better idea of what your keto macros should be - if you want to give keto a try. http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ That said, keto is keto and low carb is low carb. Which do you really want to do?
-
Yes! Super ravenous. I upped my fat intake and it seemed to help.
-
It takes time, and a little bit of trial and error. Keep at it, you'll get the hang of it. :)

You'r diary looks spot on. I have just a couple of suggestions. Suggestion- try and eliminate as much processed food as you can. Swap out your I Can't Believe It's not butter- for actual real butter. Trader Joes has really good prices on Kerrygold. I'd also take a good look at the ingredients in stuff like salad dressings…
-
Woohoo!! Super happy for your great results- it's what will keep you going. :)
-
I'd suggest opening your diary so we can take a peek. :)
-
OH- also fyi about your comment about feeling bloated after the taco you ate- you might have a corn sensitivity. I have the same exact issue - and this Latina loves some corn tortillas. It was a sad day when I said goodbye- and when I do decide to to have them, boy do I pay for it. -

Listen to your body and eat when you need to eat. If you're not feeling full enough, eat fat. Remember, carbs to target, protein to goal, fat to satiety. :)

Definitely check pinterest. My board is here: https://www.pinterest.com/melismusing/paleoprimalketo/ There's a recipe for a keto chocolate pot de creme that I am dying to try. Also, another go to is just a simple chocolate fluff with whipping cream, cocoa, almond extract and a little bit of your preferred sweetener. You…
