  • I'm 5'8" and I usually "get" about 1400 calories. I have lost 15 pounds at that calorie goal and 70 total (before this website). I didn't exercise for most of my weight loss because, honestly I hate it. I'm doing it now, but it's always the hardest part for me to stick to, so I really just focus on my eating. Good luck!!
  • I (mostly) do keto and have recently had some success at it. I love to cook and would love to swap recipes!
  • Hey everyone! I'm 26, 5'8" 175 lbs. I started at 240 and my next goal is to get below 170 with an ultimate goal of 155.
  • Welcome back! I am so sorry to hear that you have been struggling lately but happy you’ve gotten to a good enough place to be back here. The first step is often the hardest. I have struggled with major depressive disorder since my mid-teens and it truly is a daily battle. I know that for me the depression tells me that any…
  • @ninerbuff mentioned sleep in his response and I have to second that one. It's only an anecdotal example, but I know that when I'm not getting enough sleep I will see little to no change in the scale, regardless of how hard I'm hitting it. After I take a weekend (or honestly sometimes it'll take me a whole week) to get a…
  • Chicken, turkey, eggs and nuts are my biggest protein sources. We try to make a fairly large cut of meat on Sunday, like smoking a turkey breast or grilling a few pork tenderloins so we have it to snack on through out the week. I also will make healthy dishes with lean meat throughout the week like Chicken Parm using no…
  • I have struggled with depression for most of my adult life, sometimes more severely than others. I find that I'm in a better spot mentally when I am eating healthy. But there are times when that is a lot of work and just not feasible. When I'm feeling like that I try to preplan what I'm eating. If I have a better day, I…
  • A lot of people will tell you not to weigh yourself everyday. Personally, I think it just depends on your personality. A lot of factor effect what the scale will say (sodium, TOM, sleep, water, carbs, etc) so you will see artificially low or high numbers on a given day throughout the week. If you are someone who can weigh…
  • Have you talked at all about your eating preferences/life style? I personally love to cook and bake, especially for my significant other and that being said, I also love to find new recipes and challenges. If you talk to her, she might actually be excited to branch out and try making new things that fit your goals better.…
  • This is my dream thread!!!!!! These are my Monsters - Sadie is the merled one and Bernie is the Black one.
  • I'm not sure if you can buy them individually at GNC specifically, but most grocery stores actually carry them! I know Kroger, Safeway and even Walmart have them available in the single package.
  • Welcome! I can't wait for you to start your journey! It sucks in a lot of ways, but I think the best part is just knowing you can do it - it truly is hard and when you stick to it, you know there is nothing you can't do. I know you have this in the bag! I started losing weight about 5 years ago (ugh, I've gone so slow!),…
  • When I first started dating my current boyfriend, I lived alone and had two 50 pound Australian Shepherds who DEFINITELY slept on the bed. When we moved in together, I broke their amazing, pure, loving, hearts and kicked them out of bed. That lasted all of about 2 months before my boyfriend instituted a "if they behave,…

  • Dogs may or may not be the best part of life, in my opinion. Every day I see a dog is public is instantly a good day. This is my Aussie, Sadie.
  • OMG! Your Basset's face! So much shame!! What beautiful puppies :)

  • I would echo what has been suggested and also note that it's important to add enough weight to the exercises. You can certainly move improvements doing body weight squats and other movements, but to main the kind of progress you're looking for, you might want lift heavier. The Bulgarian split squats that @wishfuljune…

  • Old Navy actually has pretty decent workout stuff. I've had a pair of compression capris for over 2 years and am just now needing to replace them. But I would like to 'thumbs up' the Marshalls/TJ Maxx suggestions. I have found deeply discounted under armour stuff there multiple times.
  • I have been at this a really long time, so I guess you could say I'm really taking the 'slow and steady' route lol. I started at 240ish and I'm right around 175 and from a size 18W to 10/12. My ultimate goal is 155. I'm 5'8".
  • I wear a 34G and have had a large chest my entire life. I loved the moving comfort that has the Velcro straps (it sounds weird, I know) because you can adjust the fit depending on how your boobs sit. That being said, I don't think it had enough support at that size. I have the panache sports bra right now and it's amazing.…
  • I know a lot of women who are on the depo shot, love it and don't have any issues losing weight while using it. That being said, my doctor also told me she wouldn't recommend the shot to me specifically because she has seen it impact weight loss and given that I was already on the journey, she suggested other methods. If…
  • If you have a high body fat percentage, lowering it can help. But unfortunately, not all women experience any reduction with loss. I lost 70 lbs and didn't lose any size - in fact, because of the way bra measurement works, I gained cup sizes from a 38DD to 34G
  • It honestly sounds like he's looking for a FWB setup, so just keep your eyes open on that. But it that arrangement works for you - do your thing. He's 100% using you as a backup though. I once had a guy tell me "I have other plans tonight, but if they fall through, you could come over and watch Netflix if you wanted." Err,…
  • So, yes, technically you can just take the next pack of active pills and skip the reminder pills. HOWEVER, this is really something you should discuss with your doctor. Not all birth control pills brands or types are the same and not all are suitable to be used like that. You also need to consider whether you are a "Sunday…
  • Hi! I also just started lifting (about 2 months ago) and I have also found that I really enjoy it! I actually bought the book "New Rules of Lifting for Women" on amazon for about $12 and have been following the prescribed workouts in there. It really is awesome. I have never been someone who enjoyed working out, except for…
