  • When I notice weight loss I typically don't mention it, especially to a colleague. Work is no place to comment on personal appearance or an individual's body unless it is to address unprofessional attire. The liabilities are just too high in today's 'I'm offended' workplace. The closest I come even with friends is 'Wow,…
  • You've done it before so you already have the base knowledge. It should be much simpler this time around. 20lbs is minor compared to your previous success...it's not a mountain, just a little hill 😁 You've got this!
  • Plain greek yogurt with brown sugar and topped with honey bunches of oat cereal. I'm addicted. It hits my creamy, sweet and crunchy fixes all at once.
  • Absolutely this ^^^^^^ The first portion is the most difficult. Several years ago there was a cushioned running shoe commercial with the tag line "makes the first mile feel as easy as the 4th" or something like that.
  • You have done an amazing job!

  • I look at an average trend over 14 days. If that number is more than my acceptable maintenance range I make a change. A few random high readings is not a trend simply because weight varies so much. Just this week I've had a 7 pound difference in readings, but a single (or few) high value does not indicate weight gain. I…
  • Come up with options that fit within your calorie goal: 1. Fast food lower calorie options like grilled chicken wraps, baked potato, small cheeseburger, kids french fry, etc... 2. Convenience store options like hummus and crackers, turkey sandwich, fruit, etc... 3. Carry a snack with you that works for you. Maybe it's…
  • Following this...
  • I'm familiar with this recipe. Here are some options: - Reduce the amount of butter used to saute veggies - maybe even none. - The remaining butter gets mixed with the stuffing. You could spritz it or drizzle less over the top. - use Fat Free condensed soup - use Fat Free sour cream - make your own stuffing with light…
  • Those must be supersized peanuts! If I didn't have a scale I would divide the total number of m&ms by the 5 servings. In this case one serving would be 8 pieces. As a side note, anything in parenthesis or with the word 'about' on a food label is just a general reference, not data.
  • I just learned a 5 pound maintenance lesson - I need to continue logging everything to maintain. I've been maintaining since September 2018 and relaxed a bit over the past few months, which resulted in a 5 pound increase in my weight trend. I must continue to log diligently to maintain.
  • I take peppermint candies with me to meetings. All the extras taste kinda gross with peppermint in my mouth. Sometimes I splurge (ha!) on butterscotch candies. They are sweet, take a while to eat, and only have about 20 calories each. (Sugar free ones are only about 12 calories each.)
  • Mmmmm salad! Greek - black olives, feta, cucumber Asian - Mandarin oranges, crunchy noodles, cabbage, snow peas Fajita - onions, peppers, crunched tortilla chips, black beans, salsa for dressing Thai - peppers, cabbage, carrot, cucumber, spicy peanut sauce Harvest - blue cheese, pear or apple, walnuts.
  • Day drinker here 🙋🏼‍♀️ Only because I go to bed around 8pm on most night for a 4am alarm. Well, and because day drinking is fun 😋 (This is a chit chat forum - have fun with it instead of critiquing the question!)
  • Years ago I had a close coworker who was very large, I'm guessing about 400lbs. When I noticed his weightloss he said he had already lost about 60 pounds. I was very surprised. To me it looked like 15-20lbs since my frame of reference was a normal BMI. He laughed and said you don't see me naked. Truth! Lol
  • Maybe take the time to know these women and realize they are people, just like everyone else. Their appearance does not define them just as your appearance does not define you. All too often we judge people based on their hair style or jeans size when we really should be looking at personalities, heart, integrity, and…
  • Eat less and move more. That is all.
  • Park on the top level of the garage and take the stairs.
  • Are you getting your prepared foods from the grocery store, restaurant or other source? You can certainly eat prepared foods and stay within your calorie allotment. You could look at the calorie counts before purchasing. For instance, if you allow 900 to 1100 calories for dinner then only buy dinner options within that…
  • 17 miles last weekend in Cleveland Metroparks 15 miles in Hocking Hills, OH a few weeks ago
  • Yes, you can do this!
  • Baked Mac n cheese, side of green beans. Sauce is almond milk, extra sharp cheddar and fat free cream cheese with onions sauted in tbsp butter. Add some seasoning and spicy mustard. Delicious!
  • Greek yogurt! (I use fat free, but use whatever fits your calorie allotment)
  • Hot steam will cook any vegetable. It just depends on your preferences: Cabbage Carrots Root veggies (sweet potato, white potato, beets, etc...) Cauliflower Peppers Onions Squash Mushrooms I would also steam other foods: Fish & shellfish Chicken or turkey Sausages Asian dumplings or buns Grains - couscous, quinoa, barley…
  • You're running will give you cardiovascular fitness, but your muscles need to get used to the different motion and pace of hiking, especially with the added weight of a pack. People think hiking (or walking) is easier than running, but it is a challenging with distance & elevation.
  • I can gain 5 to 7 pounds if I just look at a big plate of food! Take a deep breath... ahhhhhhh You are putting value into the 133 reading without considering the variables - scale to scale repeatability, time of day, hormonal influences, your clothes, food and water intake, etc... You got a snapshot of a single point in…

  • I get up and walk a few times a day and take the most inefficient route to the restroom and copier. I also walk during lunch most days.
  • I rarely cook. Some of my lower calorie staples: Oatmeal Lunch meat Rotisserie chicken or chicken breast strips Low carb wraps (50-60 cals each) Light bread Laughing cow light cheese Greek yogurt Tuna Canned soup Fruits/veggies Canned beans Turkey sticks (like slimjims, only lower Cal) Hummus Eggs Turkey pepperoni Jar…
  • It's just not that easy for everyone. Some people struggle with this mental aspect of losing or maintaining weight, for various reasons (general lifestyle, habit, hormones, hunger pains, childhood relationship with food, etc....).
