It does sound like you have PCOS, maybe see a different doctor? I am also severely depressed, which just adds more to the other health issues I have. I so desperately want to lose weight, but I give up easily. If I pig out one day, it turns into weeks. Then I gain weight and feel even worse and the cycle starts all over…

Heya, feel free to add me! I'm here constantly now and absolutely love MFP. Also a very chatty person lol

I'm also 23. I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS and don't think I have it, but have very similar symptoms that include abnormal amount of body hair (high testosterone levels), ovary cysts, insulin resistance and depression. Those factors make it very hard to lose weight, but I decided I am not going to let it stop me from…

You look incredible, and damn, those eyebrows are fantastic. Well done!

I have never been a healthy weight before so I have no idea what I prefer my ideal weight to be. I set my goal for 60kg (132lbs), which is on the higher end of the BMI spectrum (I'm 1.6m or 5'3''). I think once I reached it I will probably go for 55kg (121lbs), but it is still a long way to go and I don't want to feel…

Hello! This sounds like a lot of fun. Count me in

I am an extremely picky eater (always has been) therefore healthy eating was a very difficult transition to make. My favourite rule to live by is: If you don't like it, don't eat it. There will always be healthy substitutes available. Things I hate: Peas Salads (I eat the vegetables separately, I hate it combined) Tea…

Ah, South African problems lol. (Nah just kidding, I live on a game reserve so it doesn't apply to the country as a whole). Having the carnivores around can actually be quite good motivators for runners - IF you can run faster than them  Gang activity sounds horrid, though. All the best to you too! I'm going to…

5'3'' and currently 189lbs, with 54lbs to lose. I'm doing 1200 calories for a while and I feel fine. I eat at least 300-500g of vegetables daily, and my protein intake is high. I've cut down considerably on the carbs (but over 8 months' time) and my energy levels feel elevated. Some nights I am unable to finish my dinners…

Your period may be around the corner, too. I suggest you weigh yourself once a week, allowing your body enough time to adjust to the amount of calories you consume. If you gain on a weekly basis, then you are consuming more than you should. I've reached a plateau for three months and thought I did everything right - well,…

Thank you! I just noticed I wrote 'clothes becoming smaller' instead of bigger, but I'll fix the blunder and say I meant buying smaller clothes (I didn't mean it, but quick save!)

Your beard is magnificent. Just had to tell you!

I stopped drinking sodas seven years ago. I always felt bloated and had a lot of uncomfortable gas. There are plenty of gas-free diet friendly cooldrinks out there. I am not big on drinking my calories and I found once I stopped with the sodas my cravings for sugar were reduced. The key for me is to not have anything sweet…

I'm on the pill and that has reduced my pms symptoms greatly, but I still experience cravings. I tend to save my fruit and yogurt (which I consider my daily treat) for after dinner, and therefore make a fruit salad. It's sweet, it's filling, and it's healthy. If you have calories to spare add muesli for extra texture.…

I'm currently maintaining a 1200 (or slightly below) calorie intake. This is quite easy for me as I stack up on vegetables (300-500g), that makes my stomach feel physically very, very full. Late at nights I become quite hungry, but by keeping myself busy (studies) it's not too difficult to overcome. I will increase the…

Heya, this is my second try at MFP. Lost 11kg (24 pounds), gained it back and a lot more (I've now managed to lose the 'extra' weight). Would love to make friends!

This is really so exciting. Clothes becoming smaller is a very big motivation for me. I am starting a new job in 4 months and I truly hope I lose enough weight to buy a whole new wardrobe! I have also been tugging at my clothes and it's honestly very annoying. You're unconsciously aware of your appearance and body, and…

This almost made me cry. I remember how I used to get back from school and treating my sore thighs because the friction made my skin bleed. Although my thighs are still huge, the pain is gone and the skin itself is turning into the same colour as the rest of my body. I cannot wait to reach goal weight.

I'd love to meet new people. Although I have created my account about a year ago, I am only now starting to become involved. Would be great to have a few friends!
