I find this really demeaning to folks that dont have kids. No one is saying that raising kids isn't challenging - we all know that it is. But its really condescending, in the -mother-as-perfect-religious-icon-genre- of you to say it would be easier to work 3 jobs? You've clearly never worked 3 jobs. Or worked one job, with…

my next question is - why would you buy food for your kids to eat, that you can't eat? Why would you want to allow your kids to eat less healthfully than you? You have the opportunity to make their own health and diets easier when they're grown, by teaching them healthy habits, that will just seem natural later... just a…

I think you can have success with any exercise type, as long as you use correctly. I live in the country and don't have a gym membership. Over the course of January, I lost over 12 inches - I do all body weight exercises, along with snoeshoeing, shoveling snow, etc. I also lost 7 pounds - but thats because of my calories,…

^^^THIS. I work 12 hour days, have an hour commute each way, I have chronic Lyme disease, I have 2 torn hip joints, I live in the country and have no gym equipment. And you know what? I still managed to do what I needed to do, and lost 7 pounds in January. You can do it. Focus on your goals, not on your challenges.

Makes total sense. If you want, try finding other things to get that high from. I'm lucky, after 10 min Of strenuous cardio I get the runners high. So when I'm bored, I try to move. I dance while making dinner, or do a quick workout, or snowshoe, etc....

Hi- I'm not a video game player (but my husband is) so it never occurred to me to look for a game like this. So glad I saw your thread. I had been looking for online dance workouts and I think this will be perfect for me! I love to dance - dud competitive ballroom in college and after. Haven't danced in years. I needed to…

I make from scratch 99% of my families meals! though I do buy bread, coconut milk! and a few other items like quinoa pasta. I am neither the worlds best cook- didn't start cooking until I started this weight loss journey- my husband is the house chef and used to do all the cooking. I'm not a vegetarian, so can't help you…

I would ask if you really want to lose the 20? Sometimes I think we punish ourselves and treat ourselves badly because we think we SHOULD want to lose weight, even if we don't actually want to lose it. I've been the before. Saying I want to lose weight, beating up on myself for not losing weight, while at the same time…

This. It's mostly genetic.

Oh my goodness, you're doing awesome!!! 8 pounds is 3 weeks is so great!!! If you've lost 8 pounds, what makes you say you don't have results inyiur physique? Are you talking measuring? I measure a lot of things- breast, chest, biceps, waist, hips, thighs, calves.... But. I also take pictures at the beginning of every…

Thank you for your concern, it's so sweet of you to care:) I know I'm eating enough calories though - I log everything that goes in my mouth, as well as all the exercise I do. I even have high cal days- yesterday. I ate 1800 calories (which was planned) I do that 1-2 days a week, and eat approx. my recommended calories…

I use full fat items on some things- I use butter for example. I don't drink milk except for special occasion lattes, and. I always use whole milk. When I'm cooking, I almost always use low or no fat- sour crem, Greek yogurt, cheese. For whatever reason, I don't feel like I miss this fat when I'm baking, but miss it more…

^^^ yes- this! I have no idea if there is any scientific basis, but this is what it feels like to me. Got teary again this morning watching a very nice, not sad story on CBS Sunday Morning. I've lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks, and am definitely eating enough- the weight just really seems to be shedding this time around for me. I…

No. I don't consider it a punishment, something I deserve- it's something I GET to do because I'm taking care of me!

that would happen to me when I was marathon training at the 12+ mile range. totally normal

oops sorry - didn't realize i was in gain section

oh and I agree with everyone on here - it would seem most everything causes cancer:) So you have to decide what's worth it to you, and what's not. Smoked meats.... I'll get cancer for smoked trout and duck any day of the week ;)

I eat only a few of these, and those rarely. I have low alcohol intake, I love cured meats, but eat them rarely; I can my own tomatoes in glass, or buy POMI, which are store bought tomatoes in boxes instead of cans so no BPA; I make my own popcorn on the stove old school; I rarely ever eat white flour; I think my biggest…

I take pictures once a month. I'm always SHOCKED to see how much I've changed. I also measure: breast, chest, biceps, waist, hips, thighs, calves. Finally, it's all about perspective. What's your goal? Mine is to commit, once and for all, to a healthy, self loving attitude, so if I'm eating right, and exercising enough,…

For me, being married means being willing to make changes/sacrifices to help my spouse, because I love him. That doesn't mean my spouse has to change his eating with me, but I disagree that it's too much to ask your spouse to not bring it home, etc. I have a sugar problem- I just can't have it in the house, or I'll go on a…

I eat 1200 a day; If I get hungry, I have a high protein snack - I just shoveled snow for 2 hours so I had a hard boiled egg, a clementine and a lot of water. Also, a lot of times people are thirsty, when they think they are hungry.... or are stressed, and do stress eating.... or are really off on their nutrient amounts -…

Yes exactly - either - tell them you're not that hungry and ask them to just bring you some steamed veggies- any chinese restaurant will do that (i'm allergic to soy, I know). Eat a very small amount of a regular dish so you don't go over cals and have your treat tomorrow, or just tell them you're on a diet. Lots of…

have you thought about changing your pasta? I've been using quinoa spaghetti and have found I actually like it better than white flour pasta. DOn't know if you can see other people's recipes, but if so, check out my recipes - I have a great meat sauce, and a white wine butter garlic sauce too. Both fit into my 1200 cal…

^^^ this. I limit coffee to 1 1/2 cups in the morning. The only way I get out of bed to do my morning workout is because i set my coffee maker to have it ready for me as soon as I come down the stairs.

Love it! AAANNNND it's healthier too. Natural vs chemical? There's no question.

Why do you feel you need to eat fish? I would suggest you could create a healthy diet, and not eat foods you dislike. WIth fish specifically, I would say start by eating it at a restaurant, so you know it was prepared well. Next, I would say only eat/buy fresh fish - not frozen. I love fresh fish but can't stand it once…

it sounds like you're doing amazing! Given your history though, it might be a good idea to have at least 1 meeting with a nutritionist who helps folks with EDs. Maybe if you had the confidence of an 'expert' you're doing this right, you would feel more confident about what you're doing... just a thought. Good luck!

I'm 5'6; 36 years old currently 142.8 pounds; not sure what else you're looking for? measurements are 35 1/2 - 27 1/2 - 39 1/2 In my earlt and mid twenties I was a fitness model, but I just looked fit from sports, not really from working out; I doubt it's low sodium - my husband jokes that i put salt on everything! That's…
