Rowing machine
Hello, I’ve recently decided to stRt using a rowing machine for cross training days. I rowed in college, but that was 20 years ago! I feel good about my form, but would love any info on places I could find good beginner workouts. I don’t remember the watts or spm I should be aiming for to get a good workout either. Thanks.

completely frustrated - different results, same effort
Please help. I'm 37, 5'6. On Jan 2, I weighed 150. I started a concerted and focused weight loss effort on Jan. 26. I've been eating 1000-1400 calories a day for the first 3 weeks, then dropped that to 1000-1300. For the first 3-4 weeks, I focused on walking 4500 steps a day and also did 2-3 12-18 minute workouts a week.…

Need more food blogs, web sites
Took a break back in April, and I had AMAZING meals all through the winter. Now that warm weather is here, I need to find good, fast dinner recipes that don't require an oven- waaay too hot. We also don't own a grill, fyi. I've tried my fav. Winter web sites but am coming up empty.... Thanks for the suggestions!

Rising weight gain over 4 days?
Hi everyone- first- I'm not freaking out over the scale, I'm just surprised by what I'm seeing, and trying to understand it. On the 18th, my weight hit a new low, 134.6; I usually have stops and stalls where I will lose between .4-1.2 pounds in ine day, and then smaller amounts daily for the next few days. Then around TOM…

Spring dinner entrees?
Well, I was pretty thrilled with my winter dinners, but it's time to start thinking about some new Spring dishes. Anyone have dinner entrees that are great spring meals? Would love to know what you're cooking and where the recipes are from. Thanks!

Size 0, 8 years later.
Until I hit about age 29, I was always naturally a size 0. I could eat an entire pie and not gain weight. My oh my how things have changed. I'm now 37. At my biggest, I was either an 8 or a 10, not sure which. For the past 8 years, I've held onto clothes that I love, even though I doubted if I'd ever wear them again. And…

When to increase calories?
I've been at 1200 calories for the last 9 weeks or so, and I'm now within 6 pounds of my goal weight. Though I'm not ready to go to maintenance, I'm curious how and when others have gone about increasing calories? Feel like it's time to start thinking about when I will do that.... Thanks for your thoughts!

Vegetarian with allergy help
Hi everyone, I'm looking to do more vegetarian dinner entrees- here's my issue- I'm allergic to all legumes. That's all beans, all nuts, and soy is a bean fyi. Anyone have any suggestions? I make a great dish that is a spaghetti squash casserole, eats like a ravioli, but no pasta. I'm looking for other dishes that my meat…

Decadent recipes on 1200 cal a day
Hi everyone- I've seen a lot of threads lately struggling to make the cals work for whatever you are allowed. Thought I could through a few things out there. 1. Prior to starting MFP, I did not cook for our family. My husband did. He's a caterer, so it made sense. I now cook all our meals. I'm telling you this because you…

Another small, but major success
I have chronic Lyme, which has meant for me, that even though I used to run marathons, I now can go weeks at a time with so little energy, and being so fatigued, that I can't even walk for 15 minutes. This has gone on for several years now. There are things I have learned to help restore my energy, but the hardest is just…

It may be small...
Compared to many here, who are super inspirational, but I am now in double digit weight loss!!! I've hit 10 pounds. When I started on January 3rd, I really didn't believe I could lose 10. I've tried many times before, and never lost more than about 5 pounds, no matter how much I've had to lose. So this time I hoped I would…

TOM approaching....
So, I'm wanting to do an experiment and see how LITTLE weight I can gain during TOM. At the moment, all I can think to do is manage my sodium intake very closely - I LOVE salt and have low blood pressure, so typcially have a lot of kosher salt in my diet. Any other strategies you think I should try? - I know the gain is…

The best diet ever....
Is MFP and calorie counting! Last night I had milk chocolate, peanuts, and vodka for dinner and when I woke up, I had list an additional 1.2 pounds! I love knowing that there is NOTHING I have to cut out of my diet to lose weight. That as long as I make my cals and macros line up, I will keep losing. PS- both the chocolate…

looking for motivation? track your measurements!
I think most of us agree that what we're after on this journey is to look different and feel different, and if we think we look fabulous, who cares what's on the scale. With this in mind, I've been tracking my measurements since the beginning of the year. In total, I have lost 13.5 inches!!! Prior to checking in and…

What's your rate of loss?
Hey ladies- I'm trying to lose about 20 pounds, I've already lost 5. I'm curious what rate of loss you ladies see? My MFP has me eating 1220 cal a day, and losing 1 pound a week. I lost 2.5 in the first 2 weeks on here, and then last week I lost only .2 pounds. I've also lost close to 10 inches. Does that sound about…

Losing size, not weight
Hi everyone, my weight hasn't moved since Feb 1, but I've been surprised to see my measurements drop in a slow but steady way. Main reason I'm surprised is because I haven't been exercising this month due to some health challenges. I've always associated size drops without weight dropping with exercise, building muscle,…

Suggestions? Plateau?
Hi everyone, When I started back up with MFP on Jan, 10, I had about 18 pounds to lose. I lost 7 pounds in about 2 1/2 weeks, and then only 1 pound in the 5 weeks since then. My diary is open if anyone wants to look. A few things I'm aware of: I cook all my food 99% of the time. I measure cals by figuring out the calories…

Send some good thoughts please
I'm currently in a very abusive work situation, and I have a very big interview today. It could change my life in a lot of ways. I believe in the power of prayer, so if anyone can send up a quick prayer for me I would be super grateful. Also... Just tried on and fit in a pair of size 4P pants I've owned for over a year…

Need advice
I've had a bad few weeks- 2 colds, TOM, so my exercise has been sporadic; more snowshoeing than serious planned workout. If you look at my food diary though, I've stayed on track. I don't care much about the daily cal count, I pay attention to weekly. Every week I have been at or slightly below my cal counts. So why have I…

Ladies- TOTM weight gain?
Hey ladies- not worried about this, but I've known I always gain some weight prior to my period, has nothing to do with how much I eat. I just gained 3 pounds literally overnight. Whoa! Was curious how many other ladies experience this too, and if anyone has figured out a way to minimize this? I know it's just water, but I…
