  • Thanks! I am definitely keeping a photo log (for the last 30 days anyway, wish I would have started from the very beginning). I really can't trust the scale, but as long as I keep needing to tighten my belt and buy smaller pants sizes, then I'm happy!

  • Agreed! Sometimes these binges can cause a relapse effect and people can find it difficult to get back on track afterwards. It's happened to me twice now...
  • I love using ground turkey for tacos and sloppy joes. I always get the 99% lean which is lower in calories compared to lean ground beef and I honestly just think it tastes better. My kids like it too. This is what I normally use:
  • I wouldn't worry a whole lot about it like others have said. Normally it's water weight coming off in the first few weeks. I lost 19 lbs in the first 3 weeks of starting out and now I'm down to a safe 2-3 lbs per week loss. Listen to your body and you'll be fine.
  • Very true - for long term goals. OP doesn't seem to be too concerned about that though. Not going to lose too much (if any) fat in 3 weeks.
  • Ok, so I was able to lose 10.6 lbs in week one; 4 lbs in week two; and 4.6 lbs in week three when I started this challenge at work. Not only did I cut way back on calorie intake (~1200 kcal/day) and increase my exercise, but I really started watching my sodium and increased my water consumption. I'm assuming that the vast…
  • YES! That's basically it. This is something that Westerners have a tendency of doing to make it sound all mystical. Really great con men, like George Dillman, use this to improve their own quality of life and it's got nothing at all to do with ch'i... Unfortunately, a lot of people fall into this trap. So many of us want…
  • Interesting... I'm in. I already check my weight every morning exactly for the reasons you mentioned. It raises my awareness and starts my day off with the right mindset to stay on track for my weight loss goals.
  • I have to buy a new belt! I can't tighten mine anymore :)
  • So, obviously you don't understand what I'm trying to say so this will be my very last attempt, put as simply as possible. For the THIRD time, ch'i is NOT MAGIC Ch'i IS A WORD. This word is used to describe the circulatory system, respiratory system, endocrine system, nervous system, muscular system. It is physiology and…
  • Basically, you can't do both. You can't really bulk and cut at the same time. The only way to lose weight is to consume a deficit of your TDEE. The only way to bulk is to consume an excess of your TDEE. That's not to say that you can't build muscle while losing fat as long as you eat at a slight deficit and maintain good…
  • I think maybe you didn't completely understand my post? Ch'i not a force, it's an internal energy. Every human being has circulatory, respiratory, endocrine systems, etc... just think of it that way. Now, one can learn to manipulate these systems to control respiration, improve blood flow, and even trigger an adrenal…
  • I know I'm a little late to the game, but I came across this post when I was searching for some Martial Arts threads so I figured I'd chime in  I've been in the Martial Arts world for almost 25 years now, and though I'm far from being an expert, I have learned a few things over the years. To answer your question,…
