I am not doing any exercise, just eating a keto+OMAD(One Meal A Day) diet and mixing it with fasting once in a while. Just started my dry fast last Saturday night (had dinner as my last meal on Saturday), and not going to eat or drink anything at all until Tuesday night (at least that's the goal). So far I am already down…

If you want to complete the entry just for the sake of it. What I do, is I log something I would never eat as food by itself, to get the daily calorie over 1200. And add exercise for the same amount of calorie to zero it out. For example, today I am fasting, so I logged myself eating 5 oz of beef tallow( hopefully no one…

I started my fat loss program on Feb 10, 2018, and that's when I discovered Keto and IF. I started tracking my weight loss on that day, but started logging data in MFP on March 14th. I started on Feb 10, 2018 at 209 lbs. And by March 14th, I am already down to 185 lbs. Currently I am doing Keto + OMAD, and weight loss is…

I joined the challenge on the 14th, as of today, the 17th, I dropped my weight from 184.9 to 182.7 lbs. Still on Keto and 22:2 IF, eating about 1200 calories a day. Hope I don’t have to over eat during the weekend with family. Goal is still 165 lbs. let’s motivate each other and lose the weight together.

One meal a day for me, dinner with family only. If you are just starting, start by having 3 meals a day as usual, but try to have dinner earlier gradually, no later than 8pm, then work towards having dinner by 6pm. Then work on having breakfast later, start at maybe 7am if you are early riser, then push it to 8am, 9am, and…

Mixed veggie cheese and egg bacon muffin. For breakfast and snack. Less than 2.5g net carbs per muffin.

I would say reduce the processed food when possible is a good idea. If you don’t have time in the morning, try buy some avocado. When ripe, just sprinkle some soy sauce on top and eat it raw. It’s one of the healthiest fat in the world, and very filling, delicious, with tons of nutrients. Much better alternative. Or boil…

I stop eating all sweet( sugar, fruit, honey) starchy veggetables, grains(bread, rice, noodle, flour). But eat as much green veggies as I want. So this is what I consider as low carb for myself, no counting carbs necessary. I will add fruits and some simple carbs back into my diet if I can ever get to 12% bodyfat, before…

It could be possible that you are consuming too much protein and not enough fat. People don’t really need as much protein as what was believed to be the recommended value. Over consumption of protein also spikes insulin, not just carbs. If you are already on low carbs(in ketosis), I suggest you can also try adding a one…

Been doing keto and IF for the past month, already lost some good weight. Looking to lose some more, will see how it goes.

Keep it up, the less processed food you eat, especially the one with a boat load of sugar, the less you want to eat them. Occasionally when I have to eat some with family members or friends, I eat it. Sugar will always taste good, it's in our DNA, but without habitual eating, you don't crave it and can always find better…

I don't want to argue for the sake of argument. If people can learn something that can help them successfully lose their unwanted excess body fat, that's all that matters. If you don't think sugar is addictive, or anything at all for that matter, then when you want to eat something, pick some food you equally enjoy but…

I don't care who he is. I only care about what he said. I agree with him because what he said happens to agree with what I had found through my research over the years trying to get fit and get cut. And it explains with more scientific reasoning why it works. If you don't want to believe it then it's fine by me. I just…

Do people who fail at quitting smoking lack of self control? Do people who fail at quitting drug use lack of self control? They fail because there is an addiction. You don't solve addiction problem without first realizing the problem and take appropriate measures to correct it. When you cut smoking suddenly, do you crave…

Tell that to countless people starting threads asking for help to solve their sugar craving problems. They are a few on the first page right now actually. What are the chances? Lol.

You are missing the point. The major benefit of cutting food with high concentration of added sugar is not that you switch the calorie to something else. When you cut this kind of food, you eat other food with more nutrient and takes about the same amount of space in your stomach, but because they don't have concentrated…

Well, I am the same, I don't care for desert or sodas, because I got over my own sugar addiction years ago. I crave red meat and fat. Fatty steak is my favorite. But because of calorie reasons, I try not to over indulge. I eat sugar, but only glucose, which is actually better for athletic performance, because 100% of the…

Check out the average lifespan for sumo wrestlers, not their professional athlete lifespan, their actual lifespan. And I am not talking about BMI, I was at 12% body fat years ago after a bulk and my BMI put me in overweight, close to being obese. Body fat % is a better measure for overweight and obesity.

That was about the first lecture by dr. Lustig in 2009, this is about his second lecture with updated research finding, and information in 2013 at the same lecture hall. The other thread is about eating "clean", I hope this thread can help people realize why over consumption of fructose can be a huge problem. Table sugar,…

Not everyone needs a dietitian to lose weight while consuming sugar, but sugar is still the devil. If obese people cut their overall intake by 15% and kept eating sugar, they can lose weight, but if obese people just cut their sugary food especially soft drinks, which doesn't contribute to satiety, and keep all their other…

My go to fiber source is pinto bean. One of the most nutritious food you can find in stores without added sugar, that has very high quality protein(not complete protein, but very close) and a little bit of healthy fat. One serving, about 3 to 4 Tbsp of cooked pinto bean has 80 calories and 8 grams of fiber. 1 gram of fiber…

Oh, right before I do my weight training, I drink protein shake with dextrose and maltodextrin. Those are high GI and high GL "food". Can you believe Maltodextrin has a GI index of about 120?! It's higher than pure glucose, lol. But yeah, I drink it for the blood sugar spike during and post workout.

Well, good for you to lose that much fat and kept it off. It's a lot of work. People can certainly lose weight while consuming sugar. How much do you consume and what kind of sugar do you consume is the real question. If you know what you are doing, for example, you know how much you can eat and maybe counting some…

Good for you! When I see soda now, I have no craving whatsoever, I only associate the soda with the amount of calories in it, belly fat and tooth decay.

I don't have any condition or track my blood glucose, I understand GI because years ago when I was cutting and bulking, I learned about this stuff to help me understand how different kinds of food affect my metabolism so I can cut and bulk more effectively. Since I track carb, protein and fat consumption by the gram, I…

About the trial result not being conclusive, I think it depends on personal opinion. But if you disagree, I respect that. My train of thought is better safe than sorry. Moderate consumption of fructose by athletes may enhance performance, this could be true, but I think this is more about energy from fructose help athletes…

Sugar in milk is lactose sugar, slow digestion, low GI index, should be much better than other forms of sugar for your condition. Sugar in banana is regular sugar, GI index is actually higher than milk, and more than half of you 28 grams of sugar is from banana. As other poster pointed out, try switch to other lower sugar…

I am on 2000 calorie cutting diet losing weight. It's not impossible to gain muscle while lose fat, but it's going to be extremely hard especially when you are trying to lose a lot of weight fast. I am losing weight at about 1 kg per week as well, at about 200 lbs, I am eating an average of 200 grams of protein per day, on…

Moving around at work might not burn as much calorie as you might think. Make sure you set your activity level correctly. If your only movement is walking around at work, I would use sedentary as my activity level, and estimate how many minutes I walk around at work and log it under cardio exercise. See if this give you a…

For a 25 years old female, that does sound a bit high. Make sure you enter your body weight, level of activity and weight loss goal correctly and see if that fixes it.
