I miss the full feeling. I have to mentally stop myself from eating more otherwise I go way over my calorie limit.

Up until my late 20s I was very very thin. I didn't watch what I ate. Looking back now, I can say that the reasons I was so thin was because of 2 main reasons: - I did a lot of walking. My parents didn't drive and so pretty much walked where ever I needed to go. - we didn't have junk food in the house and not much…

I haven't read all the replies but I think it there is a lot of pressure for women in particular to get back to their pre pregnancy weight not long after they have kids. If the weight gain is only about 7 pounds per child as per the original post I don't really see that to be an issue. Once the kids are older and don't…

Sardines (portview brand from aldi) 111 calories 19.9g protein and 1 tin costs 55c

Sardines. A tin from aldi costs 55c (in australia), has approx 20g protein and 117 calories. I like the one in tomato sauce and can eat it straight out of the tin. Or you could also heat it up with some fried onions and chilli, and have it with a nice salad.

Start with some simple meals using things you can keep in the freezer and fridge so you dont need to shop so often. Supermarkets such as aldi also have vacuum sealed meats which last longer so you don't need to worry about it spoiling if you can't cook it right away. I recently made this for my kids and they loved it.…

Instant oats with chia seeds and raisins.

Just want to empathise as I am struggling with this at the moment. Was doing well with food and exercise then had some change at work and feeling really stressed so turning to food for comfort and watching TV instead of exercising. Lots of good advice given.

Dress fits you perfectly!

Agree with this. I also find exercise helps me sleep better and better sleep is good for mental/emotional wellbeing.

Thanks for sharing, you look amazing! Very inspiring especially the difference between the 2nd and 3rd pics. I have been slacking off this week due to stress at work but after seeing your pics I am going to do my workout :)
-
Wow you look amazing! Can I ask what setup you have at home? Did u do a particular lifting program? I workout at home as well and not 100% happy with my equipment so am after some ideas :)

Few things that help me - mark exercise days one a calendar as a reminder and tick it when done - keep it simple to start e.g. short workout and gradually increase duration/intensity - diet changes slowly ie. don't make.drastic changes like cutting out certain foods because it might make you obsess and think about it all…

My kids like tuna and cheese toasted in the sandwich press. Yum.

I have been doing sl for a few weeks now. I must admit I have been finding it really challenging and on the ohp and bench I haven't been able to increase the weights. I train at home so I have started reading a book called starting strength which explains 4 of the lifts in detail. I have found some of the information very…

Wow, you look great! I am so impressed with the way lifting tightens up the body but particularly the tummy area. Really hoping I see some sort of improvement too.

This is one of my favourite threads. Loving all the pics, it's helping to keep me motivated. I haven't progressed much with my weights but I am going to keep trying!!

Thanks for taking the time to share those recipes. The muffins look so good!

You look great, good to see the progress pics, thx for sharing :)

Fantastic job, I really enjoyed reading your story. And it's so great that you are having a positive influence on your family. Very inspiring story :)

There's a scale in the kitchen area at work so I weigh daily when I remember at work.

I had to find an exercise program that was short and simple and could do at home. Working full time and with 2 young kids I exercise after they are in bed so around 8.30pm. Started with 30 day shred and am now doing strong lifts. Both done in around 30min. I also go for 20min walk during work lunch breaks.

I just ordered this book from amazon last week and can't wait until it arrives (I am in Australia and it's being shipped from US). Have been finding ohp the toughest so hoping the book and these threads will help :)
-
Amazing pics! I started about 3 weeks ago. Starting with light weights bc I am not very strong. Looking forward to getting to know everyone better. I have a long way to go.
-
Wow I can see the difference, well done!

Hi threnjen. Turns out I am already in the group :) Will be popping over there more! I have been mainly going to the general forum as I have learned about lots of other stuff I was (and still am) pretty clueless about especially food and diet and protein.
-
Thanks for the encouragement. It really helps esp when I am feeling discouraged :) Mfp forum is the best, I always learn so much and so many nice people !
-
I guess I feel like I am doing it wrong or something because I can't even do 12.5kg (approx 25pounds) in ohp but I know I have to start somewhere and build on it.
-
Yes I use the app. I couldnt even finish the first set of 5 therefore I went back down in weight. I will keep trying for a few more months and if my weights still don't increase then I will reassess.

Got it. Thanks again.
