Well, Machka, a coincidence is that whilst you were cycling around Wales in 2003,my eldest daughter was travelling around Australia! My small town is very near the border with England in a County called Monmouthshire. It's quite flat where I am but in half an hour we can be in 'The Valleys' as they're called around here.…

Apologies for my mundane post then, I was writing it as Allie must have been sending her sad news.

I agree with Heather. I love reading all the posts from US, Australia & New Zealand. It's so interesting to hear about the different customs and daily lives. I live in a small town in South Wales, UK (it used to be a village in my childhood, but has grown over the years), and have never lived anywhere else. All of my…

Hello ladies. I have a job! I haven't worked for four years since I had a stroke. I will be supervising and chatting with children aged 4-11 years. The Welsh government have a Breakfast Club scheme, initially set up to provide a healthy breakfast for children from poorer families who would otherwise have none. It is free…

Week 1:- Mon, Tues & Wed- alcohol free Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun - NOT alcohol free, not MUCH alcohol but, alcohol nevertheless! It really is habit with me, I'm afraid, can't seem to help myself. Will try to do better in week 2. NOT a very good start.

Barbara, the social evening was a great success. I've never been before to this one, I think they're held monthly. The hall was all decked out with American flags and most of the men were dressed like Johnny Cash. They had a county & western singer and everyone adapted certain dances to his music. I really enjoyed it. My…

Hi all, I've just been looking at our BBC news online and seeing how bad the weather is in parts of the US. It is an eye opener to be sure! It is very cold here in South Wales UK but nowhere near as cold as some of you have it. On a lighter note, can't remember which of you is/are the line dancers, but, I'm off to a line…

Thanks Kate. I have only been walking for exercise up until now. Since having a stroke 4 years ago my balance has not been good. I also line dance(in my own fashion!) once a week. I have been doing Leslie's workout for a week and have been entering under low impact aerobics but will now change it to your suggestion. Thanks…

I'm sorry, it's Leslie Sansone and it's on YouTube. I wondered what people would enter it as on MFP exercise.
-
Quick question:- What would you all enter in your exercise for a Lesley Sansome "Walk at home" workout, please?

Good morning ladies! It's another dull and damp day here in South Wales, UK. We had a tiny bit of snow just before Christmas. It's hard to imagine the amount of snow that a lot of you have had. I can only remember one time that we had enough snow to block roads etc.and that was about 35 years ago! I enjoy so much reading…

Happy New Year to all my new friends! I'm having my first NYE in my new home. Going to start as I mean to go on and cut right down on the alcohol. I have enough left for one Gin & Tonic and that's it! Living alone is not a problem for me, I was alone during the last 3 years of my marriage even though we lived in the same…

I'm about to watch "Goodbye Mr Chips" on tv. It's a made for tv British remake of the original, starring Martin Clunes(Doc Martin). I love old films and my list of favourite actors is endless. My friends used to laugh in the old days when I was late joining them at the disco because I was watching a Tony Curtis/Rock Hudson…

Barbie: that's what I'd call multi tasking! Or, multi-enjoyment! Well done! I just love it that all in this group seem so wise to the ways of the world. I tend to look at things in a different way since I've been following your group. Am I really bothered if so and so doesn't speak to me? Will my life be better if I buy…

Thank you for letting me join your group. I feel as if I know you all personally, what a lovely lot of ladies you all are! Briefly, I was divorced for the second time in April and now live alone in a comfortable rented apartment. I have 3 lovely daughters from my first marriage. 3 granddaughters and 4 grandsons. All live…

Hello ladies! I wonder if you'd mind if I joined your group too? I think I'm of a similar age to some of you, I was 61 a week ago. I have been using MFP for over 3 years and had lost over 30 lbs but have gained back 15 of those! I have been following your group for over a year and have often thought of asking to join you.…
