How sad, Karen, but also very lovely. It made me cry. Xx

Thanks Lanette:- Lucy didn't paint the scene. She printed the picture onto tissue paper and then very cleverly decoupaged it into the jug. She painted the jug and decorated it with twine and shells. It's unique and very special and I love it! Hope your cold symptoms don't materialise into a cold. All the best Karen UK

Hi ladies: this is a Birthday gift that my daughter Lucy made for me. It shows a picture of my favourite place in the world during winter storms. It's where I'm going on Thursday. All the best Karen UK Xxx

Hello ladies: still here but post very rarely. I'm enjoying reading about all of your Christmas preparations. Christmas and my birthday (tomorrow) have never been the same for me since my darling Mum passed away on 30th November twelve years ago. I make the best of it though because I have 7 lovely grandchildren. I'm very…

Aaah, Rebecca:- well done and congratulations to youngest son. I can imagine how sad you must be about not seeing him for such a long time. I suppose you were expecting his long posting to Japan because of your years as a Navy wife? I was curious and googled Whidbey Island and it looks a lovely place to live. Keep your…

Love reading your posts, Rebecca! They make me smile and sometimes cry! Reading about not seeing your youngest son for 8 months reminded me of the time my eldest daughter went travelling for a year. It was the longest time apart we'd ever spent. I'm very fortunate that all my three daughters live very close to me. Love the…

Hi ladies:- On this topic; My dear old Dad is now 91 and is living in a nursing home. He has Parkinson's disease and lewi body dementia. My brother and I are his legal deputies (UK law) and have control of his finances. The poor old dear would be heartbroken if he knew his hard earned money was being spent on looking after…

Think it was me and Rebecca talking about Lewy Body Dementia. My 91 year old Dad has it and Rebecca's dear Dad died from it. Jo;- so sorry to hear about your husband. X Karen UK

Heather:- the house selling/buying business here in the UK is horrendous, isn't it? I was very fortunate last year when selling mine because my buyer was not in a chain. Well done to your dear husband for dealing with the agents, I would be like you and get too annoyed. On the plus side, you said that you love your current…

Happy Anniversary! X

Happy Birthday, Rebecca! X We have a rock painting/hiding/re-hiding group in my home town. Its very popular with the children. I love your idea about the glass jars, the reflection from the sun will be lovely. I have a small Tiffany Lamp in my hall and, at this time of year, as the sun is going down, it shines through my…

Rebecca:- lovely pic of you and your handsome Dad, and what a lovely little story too. Thanks for your kind response. Love from Karen UK xx

Rebecca:- My dear old Dad has lewy body dementia and Parkinson's disease. He is 91 now and living in a nursing home. It's so very sad, he was such a knowledgeable chap but now he's forgotten all that he knew! He knew all about everything, he would tell us how fast light travels, he knew lots about space travel. When we…

Hi ladies:- I was a homeowner until a year ago. My ex husband was very unsupportive and incompassionate after my heart attack and stroke four years ago. My employment was terminated and I was not eligible for any benefits from the state. Needless to say, no money for upkeep of said home. We divorced, he now lives alone in…

Hi, I'm in the same boat! Lost 32lbs over an 18 month period, kept it off for 3 years and then put half of it back on! After many false restarts, I think I'm back on track now. Alcohol is my downfall but I think I've finally realised that i CAN live without it. Good luck!

Oooh! Sounds lovely, Heather! Hope you have a great time. X

What a lovely picture of beautiful children.

Lanette:- Fred Thursday is my favourite character too! Proper old school British copper!!
-
Heather:- my magic number is also 140! It took me a year to get to it from 172. Stayed within 2lbs, ( even got to 138!) for 2 years. In the past year I've crept back up to 155. All my clothes I wore at 140 no longer fit and I'm living in leggings all the time. Back on track now tho, hopefully! Well done, Okie!

Hello ladies:- It's another wet and windy day here in Wales! Typical British weather for the Easter weekend. My little grandson is four tomorrow and we're taking him to the zoo as a birthday treat so I hope it doesn't rain all day! Best wishes to all Happy Easter.

Hello ladies:- I haven't posted for ages but have been keeping up to date with everyone's news. I had a fabulous holiday in Cornwall, we had lots of snow,(very unusual for that part of the country). We travelled by train and, because of the very high spring tides, part of the shoreline track was flooded. We had an extended…

First thing to do every morning for me is to catch up on all the posts and I also check in a few times a day too! I have a week off from my new little job, it's half term…
