Nice looking reps! Building toward 200. lbs

The hell of it is, my next meet in less than two weeks is in pounds.
-
Pulling that same weight in pounds feels like more of struggle for some reason
-
Hope to see you there! I only live 80 miles from Chicago so I am not going to miss this one. (And I'll also be a refereeing so I will probably be there all week.)

Yep @PowerliftingMom. Nats is easy -- you just need a QT in any meet in the last two years as an M1. Raw Nats, if I recall is more difficult, I need 570 for my age/weight class. Did that two years ago. I'll be at Raw Nats in Chicago, 2019.

I do part time personal training (cause money is good) and the other PTs I work with know nothing about powerlifting, coaching the movements, and the programming. This is no surprise to me as a competitive powerlifter and powerlifting coach — PT certs don’t prepare you for that demanding sport

Find a federation or local gym that is holding a backyard meet. Best way, follow all of them on Facebook and look at their respective calendars. Be aware of rules, rules of performance, and any rules governing equipment. Any questions, give me a shout, I’m a state ref and club coach.

You've discovered expectations vs. reality. Reality is, weight loss isn't linear.

Congrats on your progress!

I don't care to answer the question, but its inspired me to eat ice cream immediately.

The only completely-ish accurate body fat measurement is to go under the scalpel and have the body fat cut off your dead *kitten* and weighed. Other than that, all forms are inaccurate and are estimates, and as long as you are consistent with the tool you use, the differences will remain constant. I just do a three-point…

lol... well, last time I was in London I think I spent like $15 USD on a sandwich. YOU OWE ME :p Seriously, give yourself time. You'll get there.

You run a novice program like that until you can't any longer, and just when you think it's exhausted, take a week off and 10-15% off your current working weights and KEEP GOING. Exhaust the *kitten* until you are sure you've eeked out every gain you can -- because after you've wrung every single pound from any program --…

If I had a nickel for everyone who demanded appreciable change in 3 months... Newsflash, its not going to happen. Keep at it. Like for life.
