Having narrow-minded people with absolutely no clue about fitness tell you you must be on steroids because that's the only way you could have gone from where you were, to where you are now. (Basically everyone in the town I grew up in are racist rednecks that drink beer and hunt all day long)

Curls for the girls ;) haha all my friends are hot and have sexy girlfriends. Meanwhile I'm the only fat guy in my group of friends and have been single for like 3 years.

I love the bbq bacon ranch salad from wendys!

I tell my newly fat friends and family that they are getting fat simply because I was always the fat one and it sucks. I grew up with everyone sugar coating it for me so here I am on a fitness site working my *kitten* off to fix things that shouldn't have ever got this bad. So I fully agree with giving someone the tough…

Take one big breath and try not to breathe while doing your set of front squats and the bar rests on your wind pipe. I've seen my fair share of videos, and if you do this ( heavy ) you're gonna face plant into the dumbbell rack. Gotta regulate breathing

I bought a set of bowflex selectech adjustable dumbbell (1090s) and I feel like you can get a pretty good base with just them. Google is chalk full of great exercises that are dumbbell only ( for those trying to save space like myself) I'm no expert but I've made awesome progress with just dumbbells and a few body weight…

I didn't realize this was kindergarten

Ohh ok cool beans thanks for the explanation. Looks a bit dangerous lol

Never done front squats but I've seen many videos of people doing them. Just wondering what the benefits are of the front squat, and why you can't just do back squats.

Alright that's what I thought, I figured it would be silly to warm up for isos after completing compounds. What would you consider a warm up set, vs a work set?
-
Ok but what about isolation movements? I feel like other gym goers might get inpatient waiting for someone to be finished their 10 sets of bicep curls in front of the dumbbells just to turn around and do another 10 sets of hammers or something. Just a thought I guess, because most things I've read suggest cutting down your…

I'd say you're already built near perfect anyway :)
-
How long are you at the gym for though?
-
I joined just so I had an excuse to wear awesome sparring shorts lol. Joking but I did take BJJ for about a year and got in pretty great shape...sadly I got out of shape again.
-
Alright thanks this pretty much answers my question.

I know a few women who can out lift me in everything lol. They are in the 150lb range and I weigh 220. I also know a couple ladies who would kick my *kitten* in a sparring match

When I began at the gym my friend and I did wide grip pull ups AND lat pull downs, seated rows (cable), and dead lifts. I trust his routines because he's a beast who has a lot of experience at this.

This post brings back memories of childhood days building bikes from scrap :) was the bike brand new when you got it or used? It's always good to have a little knowledge so day to day maintenance doesn't get costly. If it's new the derailleur might not be set right ( as many new bikes I've bought had to be set by myself)…

Orrr since you say your legs are useless after spin class and you want to work out your upper body and core, don't incorporate leg workouts just yet. I'm probably going to get shot for saying that but my reason is motivation. If you spin for 45 minutes making your legs useless, I feel that adding leg workouts afterwards…

You're right haha they probably make frequent trips to the crapper. I know a few women who lost a long of weight but still ate terrible and rarely exercised. Their medicine cabinet was full of xlax.
-
Well I would say you have lost some fat if you still weigh the same but have gained muscle. I'm still fairly new to this lol.

All these tips sound great thanks. My core does get neglected a lot. I'll try working on core more! Plus I've always walked funny, pointing my toes at a 45° ....the school I went to even had someone come in and try to correct it but it didn't work. It's possible that might have an effect on my back pain maybe?

I should probably take more vitamins. Would you recommend a multivitamin?
-
Right now I'm taking omegas, bcaa, whey protein, a fat burner, pre workout powder, and beta alanine caps. I've used these supps for 3 years now ( changing every 10 weeks or so) and they seem to help me. I've definitely got a lot stronger and my endurance is better. The preworkout powder is questionable though.. every brand…

Just remember that you won't reach your goal overnight! Great things take time, you got his ;)

Always down for new friends! I mean who isn't?
-
That's hat I've been doing. Hope it helps
-
I don't really want to deprive my muscles though.

I definitely try to stay away from juice and pop. Water all day long! And I think the whole not being hungry thing is just a phase because I've always had a good appetite.
