  • My gym is my community center, and it's all free, including the pool.
  • I've lost 14 lbs. of my 50 lb. weight loss goal, so no pics yet, but I'm a vegetarian. I just track everything here. The biggest thing I've had to change is protein. I started having a protein shake in the mornings to help up my protein values, because even with cheese, they were still really low. My boyfriend does all the…
  • This one is pretty good for beginners, you just need to get some starter dumbbells. https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/upper-body-hiit-workout-the-4-best-exercises-to-get-rid-of-flabby-arms
  • This one is anywhere from 264 to 429. I always go with the lower numbers. https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/beginner-kettlebell-workout-kells-kettlebells-routine
  • I was wondering the same thing. I can't wear ear buds because I am prone to ear infections from them. I also sweat a lot. I don't run though. I'm trying to figure out which ones are best. I think I want bluetooth ones, but I'm not sure. I currently have padded ear, corded ones from Fry's but they're pretty thrashed and my…
  • I go to a free gym too, though I'm also just starting out. It only has an all-in-one weight machine though and not free weights. I'm doing some weights at home and kettlebell. For the record I love it. I had wasted money at gyms in the past and I hate contracts and the "big gym feel". Though mine also has a free pool,…
  • I have "bad" knees too, and this is what I do. The first thing I recommend is depending on your knee problems, do strength exercises. If you've been to physical therapy for your knees, do the exercises they gave you in addition to whatever fitness things you are trying to do. Take it slow. Ice your knees after working out.…

  • I have a whey protein shake in the morning with fruit (bananas, raspberries, blueberries), blend it up with some ice and water. I've also started eating cottage cheese. Dinners, seitan, gardein chick n, morningstar chik patties, crumbles, tofu, chikn nuggets, mixed in with veggies and rice and beans or tacos, etc. I wasn't…
  • I like this one for people just starting out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4esG2gZMjg&list=WL&index=6
  • You might try La Croix water. I like the lime over ice with a splash of lime juice. http://www.lacroixwater.com/

  • I have patellar tendonitis in both my knees from injuries from ballet and jazz dance (a very long time ago). I don't know what your specific injury is, but I do these exercises to help build the muscles around my knees while working out and I ice them immediately after working out if I feel pain and before going to bed. I…
  • I just started about a week ago with Now Foods - Whey Protein Isolate, Natural Unflavored. It is vegetarian, but not vegan. I don't want flavorings. I just wanted high protein with little calories or fillers. It has 25 grams of protein. From what I've read, some people really like flavors, but I don't crave sweets, so I…
  • I am a vegetarian and rarely go over my carbs on mfp, but I don't each much pasta. I did have to start doing protein supplements, because when I got on here I realized my protein intake was woefully low. Now I have yogurt in the morning with protein mixed with water.
  • You have to have follow up blood tests for Vitamin D, because you could go up and if you go too high that can be bad and cause calcium deposits and more. I guess the prescription part is so the doctor can monitor exactly which supplement and levels you are taking.
  • Is that how you have more exercise calories? I was wondering this, because I've been eating back my exercise calories because I'm hungry. I lost more than I was supposed to as well. I had it set to only lose a little over a pound a week and I lost 2 a week.
  • I have Patellar Tendonitis in both knees. I cannot do any exercises where I kneel without a blanket. I have had this for years and been to physical therapy many times. They suggest building your knee support muscles. In my case, that's my quad muscles, which are very weak. I'm starting slow with daily knee exercises. I…
  • My suggestion is make regular black iced tea in the pitcher, pour it over ice and add a small "splash" of simply lemonade. 1 oz of lemonade is like 15 calories. It sweetens it, but not too much.
