I have to find a way to totally disengage from cardio at the gym...I watch Netflix while I do it...I've found that I can kill an hour on an elliptical, work up a really good sweat and hardly notice. I really look forward to watching the next episode of whatever I'm watching and won't let myself watch it unless I'm on a…

Anyone can feel free to add me as well! I'm active and communicative!

I've been doing a kettle bell circuit 3 times a week. Doing a set, running and repeat for 48-60 min. I started off using 26 pounds and am now doing 35. I have been shedding weight very well since i started.
-
I'm a good source of motivation and always willing share ideas. Feel free to add me!

I'm very active as well and am in a similar situation...feel free to add!

I'm open as well...feel free to add!

Thanks @AlciaMode I had not heard that! I'll take any help pulling O2 in that I can get!

Sloppy. LOL! I'm far from graceful and don't know that I'll ever be one that looks either good or natural running. I still feel like I'm pounding the ground or the treadmill and my feet/heels ache the next day. I'm not a small guy. I'm trying to be more fluid, keep my head up and resisting the urge to look at the ground.…

This is interesting to me. I go very hard on the elliptical. No less than 45 minutes every morning with an average heart rate of 145/150. Get a great calorie burn. Makes me wonder if I should scrap that and focus more on running.

Beer is my favorite indulgence. Before I became aware of my calories and was focusing on health I would enjoy it daily. Now, I still drink the same types of beers that I like (IPAs, Stouts and other big beers) I just do it once a week or so and make it fit in my calorie goal. Cheers!

So far so good! I started 15 weeks ago...have said "bye-bye" to 32 pounds. My motivation is higher than ever and as much as I'd love to think that it will never change, I fear the day when I lose that fire. To combat this, I'm trying to surround myself with the right people and create an environment that will Shepard me…

Wow...you guys are awesome. Fantastic advice! I've been focusing too much on mileage...12 minute mile has been my goal, but it sounds like I need to slow it down and focus on my rhythm and breathing. Any thoughts on doing this on treadmill vs. outside? Is there a disadvantage if I'm doing some training on treadmill? Is it…

Just added you. 11days is good streak! Just keep logging and being aware. Don't let a bad meal or even a bad day throw you...we've all had them...even if it's a bad week...log it. Just stick with it...you'll be glad you did!
-
I also use a fitbit and go to the gym daily, often twice a day. I get roughly 20-25K steps a day. Make sure when you log exercise that you input the times you were working out (assuming you have your fitbit linked with MFP). When you do this it won't double count your calorie needs and it will correctly increase your daily…

Thanks for the responses! Great ideas and pointers. krdews...congrats on keeping off the weight! This is our second challenge and I've seen some of the same.

Welcome back! I came back after almost a year and am so glad I did. My motivation is higher than ever right now and I'm seeing great success! Always happy to support and I'm sure I'll need it as well!

You bet! Good luck!

I've been doing kettle bells for a few weeks now and have found it to be one of the best workouts I've ever done. I set up next to a treadmill and run for 36 seconds (whatever pace is comfortable) and then jump off and do as many reps of whichever lift/swing is on my list and then jump back on the tread mill for another 36…

We had the same issue. It is VERY hard to overcome, but it is doable. We make three or four full meals on Sunday's and potion them out onto disposable plastic containers that we bought at Costco then freeze them. We tend to make things we can get 6-8 servings of and are fast to prep (turkey chili, stir fry, turkey…

I asked the same question last week and someone else suggested circuit training. This worked for me because I run between every kettle bell set.
-
Deja Vu indeed...I'm competitive and highly motivated right now...want to keep it rolling. Added.
-
That makes sense...I was running in between each set and repeating for an hour...circuit makes sense. THANKS!

I picked up a new Charge HR last week and I'm loving it! Would love some more motivators on both platforms! I'll return the favor! https://www.fitbit.com/user/2DQMPV

Hello everyone! I'm Scott and live in the Dallas, TX area. I've been married for 14 years and am 37 years old. I've got two boys 8 & 10. I've been using MFP off and on for a year and would love some strong motivators to hold me accountable. I just got a new Fitbit and am very excited to get rolling down the right road…
