I love seeing people get along on the Internet.

You've already gotten a lot of great advice, so I'll just say that I was sort of in the same boat as you - not really sure what to do with the weights. I borrowed NROLFW from my library and just keep renewing it (I'm going to buy it one of these days, I swear!) StrongLifts 5x5 looks great, too.

The trainers I worked with recommended Bio-X/Biosteel products. I remember that they said there aren't any regulations around protein powders right now, but that one is tested or something to guarantee it's actually providing the amount of protein it claims to provide.

When I started counting calories to help me lose weight, I told my daughters (ages 12, 11 and 8) that I was trying to lose weight because I wasn't at a healthy weight for my height, and I wanted to get healthier. I have told them that they are at a healthy weight, so they don't need to be as careful as I do about how much…

I had three c-sections in just over four years and for a long time I blamed my appearance on that. While it's true that having my abdominal muscles sliced open that many times didn't help, neither did the junk food I was eating, nor the lack of exercise. When I got serious about eating well and working out, I lost four…

I hate hate HATE the taste of coconut. I use coconut oil to fry my eggs all the time and have never noticed a coconut flavour.

You're absolutely right. It's just my personality to want to do everything "right", you know? Follow all the rules, that's me! Thanks for the gentle smack upside the head to help me see straight. :)

I can tell you that when I was losing weight, my coaches told me you need to train for a minimum of 5 hours per week if you want to lose. I'm sure other people will say that's not necessary. It's what I aimed for and it worked. Also, you haven't mentioned your eating habits. The other thing my coaches were big on was, "You…

I really like Bio-X Rocky Road. I mix that with just water and it's still amazing.

Wow, very prompt replies and really helpful! I tend to be a creature of routine, so it sounds like Stronglifts might be the way to go for me. I have done some lifting, so I'm somewhat familiar with most of the exercises.

You can do it! Good for you for recognizing that you need help in achieving your goals and being willing to ask for that help. That alone is huge! If you lost the weight once you can do it again. Believe in yourself!

My youngest is almost 9, so it's a while since I used any kind of stroller, but I will second the love for the Chariot. I had it for the same reason as HillOE - I wanted something I could also use with my bike. The adjustable handle was great for us because I'm 5'4 and my husband is 6'1 - bit of a difference!

Weight training and yoga (I don't think the yoga burns many calories but I love it)

Turkey pepperettes, hard boiled eggs, plain Greek yogurt (sometimes with a bit of vanilla or a few chocolate chips thrown in, or some cinnamon), Babybel cheese... I guess not all of those are NO carb but they're LOW carb, I think. Still healthy, at any rate. Hope that helps!

I've found that morning is best for me, only because I have three very active children and it's often difficult to schedule in a workout in the evening. I also get everything ready the night before so that I can sleep a little longer, then get up, get dressed and walk out the door (or go to the basement if I'm working out…

I think using something like MFP to keep track of your macronutrients and be sure you are making healthy choices for yourself and your baby is a great idea. I remember being told that you aren't really eating for two, so you don't need to double your caloric intake. Keeping track of how much you're actually eating seems to…

Like some others said, I get up and do it first thing in the morning. I have three very active children, so finding the time in the evenings just doesn't work for me. My husband has been doing the early morning workout for a few years and tried multiple times to convince me to try it when I complained about not having time…

Maple Nut Oatmeal Crisp, Mini-Wheats or GoLean are all good with unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

Ontario, Canada. Good luck to you!

I'm a similar size to you, and found my weight loss was stalling the last couple of weeks. This goes against what everyone else seems to be saying, but I did find there was a correlation between eating much less and the stall. This past week I tried to stay close to my daily goal (1200 cal) and I lost a full pound. I've…

My trainer has suggested a ratio of 35% protein, 35% fats and 30% carbs. I've been sticking to that pretty closely and am losing steadily. Of course, I'm also monitoring my calories and like others have said, I try to stay at a calorie deficit. It's working for me, but I know other people have had success with other…
