I switched to mostly glass and all my lids are breaking! I discovered the hard way to not put them in the freezer! But even the ones I didn’t are breaking. I have washed them on top rack of dishwasher but maybe they can’t take the heat and I should hand wash them? I don’t know why they’ve lasted longer than the plastic…

We all just have to find what works for our bodies. Awareness of your macro nutrients can really help you with your overall calorie control. I think it's great you're investigating it! For me, getting rid of high glycemic carbs (eliminating sugar altogether for a few months and no white rice, white bread etc) helped me…

Hmm, I didn't know about the new smoothies with no added sugars! They used to have a TAZO orange tea that I really liked. I think tea, fruit or water are great suggestions! Not sure why your post is an excuse for other people to judge your whole diet? Don't worry about it!

It depends on the kind of dance and your instruction. I think social dancing is different than serious study. But if you take ballet, modern or jazz it's all about creating long, lean muscles. Ballet is very intense and you use all of your body for every exercise. Personally, I just love exercising to music!

I like my egg white from the carton blended with coffee and cocoa or pumpkin for a protein shake snack. :) I don't like yolks for some reason but I like the whole egg scrambled. One of my sons like just the soft yolk - on a piece of toast or in a tortilla. I usually boil the egg for a few minutes. Anyone have ideas of how…

One of my absolute favorites. Has changed how I interact with people.

YES! I'm sorry for your personal loss. Mortality is a heavy burden. Thanks for coming back to us!!! This site and boards like this keep me going.

Me too! Ugh! Great job! And what was your secret? :)

:) Almonds and a clementine at chorus rehearsal last night! I did it! I also had one bite of a brownie instead of the whole thing. And other than that ate clean the whole day. J42Day: - Will get some exercise outside - I am so sorry to hear about the horrible weather so many are having, but where I am we are having a…

Hmmm, I like the way Bemah stated in past tense. I have not succeeded at daily goals I set on this board so I've been absent for a week. But maybe I need to switch it up and state what I accomplished at the end of the day instead. The goals I was setting were usually something I WANTED to get done but was not committed to.…

Once I quit sugar (including honey, syrup etc), fruit started to taste very sweet! I use fruit (whatever is in season) and nuts (usually pecans or walnuts) on my oatmeal where I used to use brown sugar and butter. I don't miss the old ingredients at all!

Awesome goal!

Easy easy soups: - saute the onion, - add broth (I just use store bought if I don't have stock, which is usually.) - add medium chunks of broccoli, - simmer until veggie is soft, - blend. Cream of Broccoli soup! (without the cream calories!) Or sub in butternut squash. Season to taste. You can jazz up with spices, but I…

My mom is the best cook! I know exactly what you mean with this post... How did you manage? I am so grateful to my mom. She has made serious changes to her cooking to accommodate me, and then she started losing weight too and has kept it off better than me! She cooks dinner for our family once a week. I am super proud of…

There's a lot of great discussion on this board, but as soon as you start bashing people with generalities you become what you are complaining about. So true, how life has changed so much in the last century, and our thinking about how we sustain ourselves through nutrition has been changed by so many factors, while our…

+1 I agree - food journaling! Also about the cute pic!

Since I FAILED at my last J42day Goals, I thought I'd better check in today and remind myself. LOL No GS cookies, or sugar of any kind, so far today! (However, my 10 and 12 yo did have them for breakfast which is unheard of in this house! Apparently I have enough will power to say no to them or no to me, but not both. YET.…

Ugh! I didn't do any of those things! LOL! I had such a weird day I didn't eat ANYTHING. I did have a salad and lean protein for dinner, but at home. By 9:30 tonight I had only eaten like 500 calories, so it seemed like a good chance to have girl scout cookies and stay under my calories for the day. SO the goal for…

If you push her it could make her feel worse. Take all of this with an understanding that you know your mom best!: My mom has had weight problems her entire life. Then I went on a diet several years ago and lost weight. At first she was annoyed because she cooks for my family once a week. But then she got inspired! She…

I think Feisty Jojo is smart with ONE goal. I will try that tomorrow. Maybe I will succeed that way! Keep up those calorie counts FJ! :)

Yeah, I messed up yesterday and the day before too on my J42day goals! Good thing that is behind me and I can start fresh today! :) Sounds rough! I don't know what I'd do. Probably try to forcemyself to snack on something satiating (is that a word) like nuts, or apples/carrots with a nut butter earlier. Also drink water to…

+1 :) Not judging though! Anyone who would judge you should spend some time with a mirror. And I don't mean to see how pretty they look.

So I did not get up early, was LATE for the gym (my husband locked himself out of the house so I had to go back! lol) and I think I drank 2 glasses of water instead of 6. But hey, I worked out and stayed way under my calories and logged everything that went in my mouth. Still on track! So what's tomorrow's J42day for me? -…

Me too. Decaffeinated. I really like fruit teas (no sugar added of course - I see so many in the store now that have sweetener additives?) and Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat. The real trick for me, though, has been avoiding being hungry by choosing low glycemic foods - foods that will keep me satiated for longer.

Daily? I'm doing 3 days per week right now.
