  • yep...single,....but whilst I can blame most of it on tyranny of distance, if your just butt ugly nothing will help you......thats me anyway

  • Hey, that was really useful mate, thanks for that. I was thinking that 140 - 143 where I am now is not too bad considering how knackered I feel afterwards. Wasn't seeing getting to 179...like...ever. But this has given me some hope....cheers!
  • dam....that means I got to get to a reading of 179....holy hell, thats going to be a big ask...
  • If you feel like having an Aussie pal, feel free to add me!
  • If its consentual, legal and no one gets hurt, then whats the problem with it?
  • hmmm...so many women in their 40's on here it seems, maybe I should start a thread for "men in their 40's with no baggage"...hahaha:happy:
  • Now there is some plain language motivation and some potential solutions for those, like me, are unfit enough to even contemplate the C25K thing. Especially for me as I have a few bits of steel in my ankle holding things together, I think I may be inclined to try this, many thanks!
  • actually for me its the fatty bits on a steak. Most people love it and say its the best bit, I don't mind eating the meat/steak part but the taste of the fatty bits makes me want to chunder big time!
  • Just going back to the starvation mode bit for a minute, would it not depend on how overweight you are in the 1st place? If you are fairly lean with just a bid of padding and not far off your ideal BMI, I could accept that easier than say if your BMI put you in the obese category and your body had an abundance of fat to…

  • yep....another aussie here. Seems there are quite a few of us on here after all. Feel free to add me Alice Springs, Northern Territory
  • I must be ignorant, because I don't know the difference between depression and feeling down. I am not trying to belittle anyone, I truly don't know. Sometimes I feel down and can't stand myself but just put that down to having a bad day and haven made stupid decisions during my life.
  • what if it takes 2 or 3 flushes, a local witchdoctor and a small group outside your bathroom window chanting words of encouragement as well as a toilet cistern mounted in the ceiling, just to let get gravity get thst extra "ooomph" behind it, is that just me or do others have the same daily experience about 8 times a day??
  • I am glad others feel the same way and I am not going mad. I have stopped and started eating them for breakfast a few times just to see if it was just a "having a good day" thing, but I did feel genuinely more positive and healthier after I had eaten them
  • Bit of both for me really. I log in when I get to work, so I log what I have had for breakfast and then what I willl have for lunch as I made that in the morning and brought it to work with me. Also my water intake,do it in the morning, I take 2 1 litre bottles of water to work everyday and aim to drink 1 in the morning…
  • Thats aweomse, only because I am too gutless to put pics up of me from the 80's, but the guy on the right, if it is a guy, seems to have the anatomically correct Ken Doll "mound" thing going on.....just saying....
  • Look, I need to lose weight thats why I am doing this. But when it comes to age, I have found myself working and (meeting) mingling with younger people and have no problem. Its a matter of perception, while I am 41 people in their early 20's think I am only about 30 ish, even with the excess weight. I look at some people…
  • Welcome, you will find us all very supportive on here. Feel free to add me if you want as I am in similar situation, 41 and single and looking to get healthier and leaner. Sort of an emptynester, except that I never got around to building the nest in the 1st place.
  • cheers Sonya, same goes for you, thanx!!
  • Also just added, hello and good luck from Alice Springs!
  • Welcome, you will find many interesting people here and by looking at peoples diaries you can get some good hints. Feel free to add me if you want, I have lost only about 12kgs or so so far, have plenty left to go. Maybe we can support each other and provide motivation?? Cheers from Australia
  • Not sure if it is necessary, but it is more than likely to be the 1st step that interests you in a person and then the whole getting into the personality thing develops from there I think. But there can be an attraction that leads to friendship and it goes no further. In my case I have had a friend since I was 17, she has…
  • welcome fellow aussie! This is the place to be for you then, we are all here for each other
  • I don't even know what it is and I scared sh**less of it from the descriptions!
  • Its good to be concerned about your pals, but it may not be such a worry for some as it is for others. I always seem to be under, around the 400 - 900 nett depending on how much exercising I have been doing. But, I am badly overweight so I feel I can probably afford such a deficit, but if there wasn't much really on your…
  • I saw an ad on one of the newspaper sites, might have been for the paper in adelaide, adelaidenow.com.au, there was an ad for venom whey protein powder, think it was about $75 delivered for 2.5kg or something. Was thinking about it but don't know much about venom powder, any reports?? Another site I have used and they do…
  • Its interesting about the cholesterol because I didn't realise protein shakes could have so much cholesterol. I have high cholesterol and it runs in my fathers side of the family. I have used Natures Way Vanilla protein powder over here in Australia mixed with water, but I did notice it doesn't mix terribly well and can…
