I was probably on the high side of healthy weight in high school but still looked ok (although at the time I was sure I was fat). I didn't really start gaining until I had my first kid at 20. After that I just kept steadily getting larger and larger.

I'm 5'7 currently 170 and have my calories set a little over 1500

Might have to adjust your calories depending on how much you lost in the last month. It's also normal to have an initial woosh then the weight loss may slow down. Another thing you might need to do is tighten up on your ligging. Good luck and don't let it get you discouraged!

Because I'm not going to completely deprive my kids of yummy food just because some stuck up snob thinks the occasional box of mac and cheese for lunch means I'm completely destroying any future eating habits.
-
Yeah that can be an issue for me and my husband too. We usually just make them the same thing we eat though and they've grown to like most of it.

I weigh I'm the morning when I'm not as bloated

70 lbs is amazing. I'm 35 lbs down with about 35 more to go. Two kids age 4 and 7.

I was stalled because I wasn't doing it right but now I'm back on track and still not seeing any results. Frustrating that I put myself in this position.
-
The same way you get everything else to go down. I wish there was a way to spot reduce but weight comes off where it wants.

I'm 5'7" . Goal is 140 but I'll evaluate from there if I want to lose more or not. I really can't imagine being in the 120s and looking healthy but everyone is different.

100% agree. Extreme restriction lead to extreme binging. It was about figuring out moderation for me. I really needed to increase my water intake and find activities to do during times I would normally binge. Boredom and being idle made it more likely for me to binge.

I really don't exercise much. It's true when they say weight loss starts in the kitchen. But I do try and walk daily. I found a walking partner at work and we go out most days. It lso is a little easier to stay active when I'm not carrying around so much extra weight. I didn't realize how much my weight was affecting me…

Chub rub, which I don't have quite as much of a problem with anymore since I've lost some weight, and looking lumpy in clothing. I want to wear fitted shirts without all my rolls being visible.

Saying no to seconds, getting smaller portions of foods I love, only drinking pop once a week (which I've been failing at), saving candy and sweets for special occasions. It's about not completely cutting myself off from food I love but not making them an everyday occurrence either.

Currently in month 2 :( the only person to blame for it is me though. I've been eating horribly, especially on weekends, and not exercising like I should.
-
Great start!! Keep it up

You lost 50 lbs before. That's an amazing accomplishment. Of course you can do this again. You already have all the knowledge from the first time around . And it's never too late. Just gotta find that motivation to start logging again. I'm not sure the streak is so much of an accomplishment if you aren't using the tools to…

I have a 4 yr old and 6 yr old girls. Lost 35 lbs already, looking to lose another 30 lbs

Anyone can add me. I started at 205, currently 170. Hoping to get around 140 or so.
-
SW 205 CW 170 GW around 140. I'll see from there if I want to keep going or not.
-
Broke my mini plateau. Was eating crappy again and not exercising and was fluctuating a lot back and fortb. I guess that's kind of a scale thing though. Went shopping for new work clothes and was able to buy mediums and size 10s.
-
Next mini goal is 155. Currently at 170. I also want yo get into the normal range of my BMI which is around 159 i think. Really cool to look back at where I started to where I am now.

How much water do you drink? I noticed that drinking more water helped me sustain that satisfied feeling. I've read that a lot of people mistake thirst for hunger and I've found that to be true for me. When I haven't drank enough I'm also more likely to choose in healthier foods and binge.

@singingflutelady sorry, misread the title!

I'm starting to think I might have some form of IBS but it hasn't been diagnosed. Seeing the doctor in a week to go over everything. I'm glad I log here on MFP because I can show him exactly which days have been giving me issues and what I ate on those days.
-
You can do it! I really struggled with my weight after having my 1st and those struggles continued after my 2nd. They are 6 and 4 and I'm finally at a point where I'm seeing some success in losing weight. These little ones are always our biggest cheerleaders too.

Dinner here. I'm sure it's different for everyone though. I usually don't eat over 300 call at breakfast.
-
Eat good for dinner and just deal with the fact that you are going to be over today. Tomorrow's a new day
-
I eat a lot of the same stuff frequently so it's all kind of in there for me now which makes it easier.
