Hi nobbey, I'm in the same place. I lost over 20kg but gained them back again. I am also bipolar w. sever depression and anxiety. The meds doesn't help with the weight loss nor does the combo of bipolar and remembering that you gained it all back again. But you know what. We did it once and we can do it again! Just keep on…

I just ate a whole almond bar, I did log it though, even though I went over my calorie goal. But today I don't really care, my fitbit won't give me any extra calories if I manually enter any activity on MFP -.-''

Thanks!! I'm going to try this! It's suppose to sync through out the day, but it still hasn't and it almost 8PM here now..
-
Thanks, it syncs but late in the day, I wish everything came on it directly though.. Thought it would..

Hi, I'm in my second year of med school. Kinda new here as well

You need to think a bit further then just calories if your aim is to be healthy. Just because you are a vegan och vegetarian doesn't mean you only eat healthy. If you only eat junk food like chocolate and coke, sure your calorie count will be below, but that food does so much damage to your body. I am in medical school and…

No, you're not doomed, I was like that before as well, I would try to lose weight for maybe 3-4weeks and after no change or gain of weight I would give up. You should check you hormone levels and get a full blood check. And other then that start with the calorie count, start to eat healthy and don't think of it as a diet,…

I said misdiagnosed, they told me I had a heart disorder.

I've tried to point that out several times, but some on this post doesn't seem to get that. They keep attacking the ones that post here

Hi, many anti depressants cause weight gain, it what got me here in the first place
-
Some of us were never told that weight gain was a side effect. I for one blamed myself for over 2 years.
-
Omg I can so relate!! Seroquel is what got me here, and my doc didn't even tell me that I could gain weight. I really hate her, she did so many things wrong with me that cost me a lot. And the last time I spoke to her she was yelling at me and telling me I was the reason for all that went wrong. Which was some major…

I'm 1,65m tall and could eat everything from one Apple a day to maybe one meal. There was days I didn't even remember to eat and realized from being extremely weak the other day and would eat something small in the evening. I am much better now and follow a diet, I am also aware of the fact that my meds might make me gain…

I gotta say I love your comments!!

Hi, thanks. I've been to many doctors tried out more medicines then I can remember. But this is the one that had best effect. The weight gain is something I can't go round, and I'm trying to lose the excess weight I've got and stop the gain. It's harder to lose because of the meds, but I'm fighting :)

The ability for the body to burn calories can be affected, your body can't burn the amount of calories you eat, even if this is a very small amount.
-
Thank you!!! I wish I had know :( I would have tried to do something about it, but to be honest I did try to do something about the extra weight, but it didn't work. I thought it was all me!
-
I've been on that med as well, but I never got a proper appetite.
-
I don't but this forum was made so people who have problems like this can find and support each other. It's clearly stated! I gave a link for you guys to read that does state that drugs can make you gain weight. Other than that, keep to the subject. I'm not the only one who thinks like this! You don't agree, fine don't but…

You know what I'm not going to waist my time on explaining something you don't want to understand, call it whatever you want! But if you want to have this discussion make a post of your own, this one is not for that!
-
No personal attack, I don't know you and have nothing against you, but read through the comments and see for yourself And once again this post is not for this discussion!!
-
Okay once again, this is NOT a post to discuss if meds make you gain weight it's for us that have been there!!
-
You just qouted the comments that proved your point and skipped the ones that didn't seriously grow up!
-
Yeah, that's what happened to me, I didn't even know for 2 and a half years
-
This is true, for me I have gained the most weight on my midsection
-
True, but just kind of annoyed since this post was for those that are going through this. Losing weight for us is harder, and you might gain even though you are doing everything right, that's what happened to me, and I was so sad until my brother told me to be patient(he's a doc) and that it would come eventually
-
True, couldn't agree with you more! I have a friend that has a thyroid problem, she hates sweet stuff, never touches it. She eats really healthy and is on her feet all day. She still can't get rid of the extra weight she put on because of her condition.
-
That states that you should be more careful while on the drug! Why, because it makes you gain weight. Seriously are you a doc? A nurse? Do you have any medical experience that is more than the 4 doctors that all told me that my meds were the reason I gained this much weight in such a period?

http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/features/is-your-medicine-cabinet-making-you-fat Read this, I already said that no I am no exception. Read my comment properly before answering!

That is true, but only if you still eat, like you eat to little a day can make your body think it's in starvation mode and every little thing that comes into your body is stored as fat. But if you don't eat for days as I did you shouldn't gain weight, not like this.
