  • Hiya been away for awhile but back again
  • I love my sleep. And could and have had a power nap at work. I've lost a stone and trying to incorporate energy foods into my diet. Getting the balance right is difficult when on a low GI diet. I exercise every other day but found yesterday I just was so tired I came home and was asleep by 8pm. I was cold all day at work…
  • I eat hot air cooked popcorn. And put my own seasoning on them.
  • that I should eat moderately by doctors,,,,hmmmmm yes tried that for years,,,,gained weight until a lady doctor who specialised in PCOS told me a few things about my condition. 2nd thing isn't so much explaining, but battling. When I go into any grocery food shop or eat out at a restaurant and have to think carefully what…
  • Unfortunately, this does not apply to women with PCOS. I did moderation for years and eat a very healthy diet and still put weight on, doctors would fob me off by saying the same thing until I met one lady doctor who specialised in PCOS, and knew what she was talking about. That is the problem with my condition. For others…
  • Hiya I'd increase the days you exercise to every other day, but decrease the time you do it. I started off by doing 20 mins on crosstrainer 20 on treadmill and gradually increased my time and equipment I use. Also varying from gym to classes depending on how I feel. Big thing though you need to understand. It's 20%…
  • Personally I think the body looses at its own rate. But I'd say quiting sugar in your diet has helped. You may go a little cold turkey to start with but after a few weeks the body will not crave sugar and you'll notice the weight loss. Sugar is in all things so choose carefully. Also I'm on a 1200 cal a day. I go gym every…
  • Is it possible for you to eat snacks on a frequent basis. I eat healthy foods in between proper breaks. Things like hot air made popcorn, homemade hummus, homemade falaffal balls, slices of red pepper and carrots, ryvitta wholemeal crackers will keep me full and balanced. Some people also eat nuts. You need low Gi…
  • I would stay away from costco. Eat homemade hummus or buy a hot air popcorn maker. For filling snacks. I find raw carrots lower my sugar levels as well.
  • Hiya, looks like your an emotional eater and there is nothing to be ashamed of with that. I watched a BBC weight loss programme that put together scientists and doctors from various areas of health to come up with a science proof version of weight loss for the individual. They had 76 people put into three groups, the…
  • My downfall is eating 5+ sausages in one sitting :o i'm also a yorkshire pudding obsessive lol I love savory foods especially bread.
  • Hi hun, I think what you need to do is re learn about what foods fill you up. You will be surprised honestly. You need slow releasing insulin foods. I have Polycystic ovary syndrome, which means I get hungry often, as my sugars are hi and low all the time. Its so hard to live like this. I'm currently following a no sugar,…
  • I weigh myself once every Wednesday evening after gym. I have heard that you can weigh 3Ibs heavier in the evening. But I tend to register the weight that shows on the scales.
  • I would like to be more accurate. I don't yet have food scales but will be getting one soon. Also new scales to weigh myself. I'm sort of guessing at the moment, but my biggest problem has been portion size, which i'm getting sorted. I'm loosing the weight with very very very restricted eating. The choice of foods I am…
  • Mix cinnamon in a low fat/0 % fat Greek yoghurt with blueberries and nuts. lovely
  • I couldn't fast like that due to insulin problems with my bloods.
  • Hiya Justintime it is short for polycystic ovary syndrome. Symptoms are a few but do include insulin resistance. And all sugars in food storing as fat. There is a lot more to this but for me I'm trying to loose weight which is extremely difficult and three times as slow. So following a no sugar no saturated fat and low…
  • Also understand the no eating after 7 -8pm rule. Acid influx is bloomin awful.
  • I'm going to see a nutritionalist in march. I'm a bit sceptical as I have PCOS and will not be happy if she fobs me off with basic nutrition advice as many have done in the past with a just eat a balanced diet crap pcos does not do balanced diets...I've read and research this condition for many a year. Although there is so…
  • I've PCOS so on Metformin. I'm trying to follow a low no sugar/fat/carb diet. Pretty much everything to do with GI or I Quit Sugar food plan is what I'm doing. Also exercising. It's soooooo hard. But I'm getting by by looking at recipes of these diets.
  • The 0% fat Greek yogurt in the uk is the best. And for cheese I use quark.
  • Thanks for all your advices. With someone with a history of carpal tunnel syndrome it was either that or something else. I'm hoping this will improve or dissappear as I continue.
  • On the crosstrainer I can only reach the bottom of the ski bars as they swing back and forth. Otherwise I'm holding onto the centre handles on both the crosstrainer or treadmill. It usually starts to play up after an 30 mins to an hour. I thought it was a blood circulation problem. I don't know why this happens tbh.
  • I agree! I do every other day on crosstrainer and treadmill that's about all my ankles can cope with. I go to bums tums or zumba in between when my bod feels ok. Music is a big thing for me while I workout. I do sometimes wish I could do more in the gym.
  • I usually start with a 30 mim walk on the treadmill with a gradient between 3% - 7% it's so much fun as I'm not able to run due to achilies problems. Then I do 30 mins on crosstrainer. That's all I do with classes in between. :)
  • My post has gone berserk! Sorry. I wanted to say well I'm 4 ft 11
  • Wow congratulations hun. I'm on a low carb low saturated fat low sugar low everything plan. I am going the gym but will see if I can loose the weight I need to loose about 4 stone.
