Thank you! I'm only on week 5 of c25k & just started running a couple months ago. And I was a smoker for 30yrs. So this is a huge accomplishment for me.

And oh my wow! I just placed 2nd!!!

This just made my day! No more guilt over napping for me!

I totally agree with the running out side comment up above. I wear hokas as well & find it so much easier to run outside. Just wish it wasnt dark at 4:30am so I coukd do all my runs outside! Did w4d1 today, wasn't as bad as I thought.

2.5 miles today May 7th - 2.5 miles

I recently quit smoking after 30 years. I wanted to be able to run so I quit & now I keep running so I won't start smoking again. Guess they are motivation for each other. I also love the alone, quite time & the feeling of completion after every run. And of course knowing its helping my health is great too. Especially…

Thanks for the info. I'm sticking to the 10% rule. Don't need an injury! I was just curious what others experienced. I'm only on week 4, its not a struggle but its not easy either. And I'm enjoying it. :)

When I was fitted, hoka was one of the brands they had me try as well, fell.in.love. as a new runner I was really surprised by what a good shoe does. No more pain! But I agree, a little goofy looking. ;)

I'm on week 4. I had been working out regularly for about 7 months but not running. Then decided to start running, after a few weeks realized I needed more structure to improve & started c25k. I've had no problem completing each day so far. And even doing more (longer) than the app. And was a smoker for 30yrs just 3 months…

Thats how I understand it as well. Now I'm wondering if I've been doing it wrong!? But I'm losing so.....

New here & to running. Started running regularly about 2 months ago. As for may, did 3 miles on may 1st & .5 miles today.

Great job on this first step!! As one who suffers from social anxiety I know first hand how hard it can be. I've been going for about 8 months now & an seriously addicted. What I do... Buy cute gym clothes to help me feel good & walk in like I own the place lol. May sound silly but it works for me. Good luck! You can do it!

Only did my c25k this morning, ran late after almost talking myself out of going & it was easier than last time. And 3 sets of squats just because I love them. Looking forward to my normal 1.5hr lifting routine tomorrow.

Another vote for c25k. About failed gym in hs because I refused to run, hated it. Started running recently (30yrs later) & now I'm addicted.

You've received so much great advise here! I just wanted to add that I recently invested in a good pair of running shoes, started running a few months ago too & love it. And it has been the best thing for me, shins don't hurt at all anymore. And the advise about weight training, I really think it has helped with running,…

Thanks everyone for the help! I really appreciate all the suggestions, and will use this info. :)

C25k Idk if it syncs but its a good app
-
I second that & the app for the phone is easy & free!

Wore them around while doing errands, no workout & while mostly sitting at daughter softball game. Many sunflower seeds were ate, meaning more salt than normal so maybe extra swelling was the cause of pain? Wore them at the gym today for my normal 2.5hrs workout, 40min treadmill (bad weather) 20min stretching/abbs, 1.5hrs…

Thank you! My thoughts exactly. :)

I'm still new to posting, so sorry for the duplicates. Had my analysis done & bought shoes, after 5hrs of wearing them they were killing my feet

I just realized I never posted that ^^^

I guess a little more specifics would help. Overall goals are, first to be healthier. I also want to be strong & look lean & have defined muscels. I started on a cut this past week because with everything I've read that seemed to be what was needed to acheive those results, eventually. I started doing the SL 5x5 12 weeks…

This^^^ And I'm a 40+ year old women, doing the same. Good luck to you! :) Oh & I'm on month 4 of strong lifts, LOVE it!
