  • No it's not a good thing. Not when there's still people starving in this world. I say this as a 300lb-er myself, it feels obscene and an insult to make out like its a good thing. Plus there's no ignoring the vastly higher risks of many conditions and diseases.
  • it won't happen overnight. I started with about 2/3k a day and a few months later clocked 28k. gradually build up!
  • I have the same problem and no idea how to fix it. I recently switched from custom goals back to guided and my diary page still shows the custom one i chose, while home page shows the guided.

  • 1200 isn't so bad. Sometimes I'm stuffed on 1000, sometimes I need more like 1400, but mostly 1200 is fine. Just make some good swaps eg: zoodles instead of noodles, almond milk instead of milk, etc and it gets easier. I also don't so all low fat, a decent portion of fat is more satiating

  • Hi hon, had you on my friends for a few months now and have been rooting for you! Here's what I think - don't be afraid to reduce calories further, and tighten up calorie accuracy with a food scale if you haven't already I aim for 1200 to 1300 cals per day, and I'm still losing under the magic number that most people go…
  • Thank you :D Yes I feel silly now, tis easy. But thanks (*)
  • I'm in - hoping for 6.8lbs off in April taking me from 251.8lbs to 245lbs
  • Yeah, this is what I had in mind I've consistently lost 2lb a week over 11 weeks so far (with a little more loss as is expected in the early days) on what I strongly believe to be as accurate as you can get count of 1200 cals per day. I have no problem with and am enjoying this - But these figures indicate a certain TDEE…

  • I'm in! I have 95lbs to go to my first target but I will probably then be starting a new mission to lose the last 20lb. Too scary to think of it all in one go.

  • oops accuracy and NO lying to yourself that should say. haha
  • I totally agree with you. 'fatlogic' and the ridiculous things some people tell themselves drive me crazy. And I say this as someone who believed various bull for years. I also say this as a 5ft 4 257lb woman who used to be 280lb and is getting off her behind and sorting it out. No excuses, no fatlogic, no wavering. Only…

  • eat more slowly - it gives your gut hormone time to get to good levels, and this tells your brain when you are full. if you wolf things down, the gut hormone stays too low. Include moderate fat, high protein and low GI carbs in your meals for maximising full feeling. This works very well for me (I am a constant hunger type…
  • Ah I see you've already bought it. Well... stick to it and I'm sure you'll lose weight - but think of it as a kick start only. then you need to be weighing and tracking food to get and keep the rest off if you want this to last, be long term etc
  • I'm sure it will 'work' as in if you stick to it, you'll lose weight... However you'll learn nothing about portion control and making weight maintenance work in the real world with real food. If you can't be bothered now to weigh out, cook and sort out your own food then how are you going to be when the time for…

  • I'd love some more UK friends - daily loggers welcome especially if you are motivated and loving it (like me!) I'm 21lbs down with 99 to go
  • I got a $5 one off amazon - does the job brilliantly for next to nothing. Doesn't take up much space either. Love my zoodles!
  • Posted this on another thread but hope it's helpful to anyone here also. One thing doing the 5:2 diet taught me that I am grateful for is the difference between the feeling of an empty stomach even though you've had all necessary calories and nutrients for the day, and actual 'need to eat' hunger. Nowadays I follow 16:8…

Nowadays I follow 16:8 for some of the benefits of fasting and find it super easy. I got to bed…
