  • I was diagnosed with PCOS at 26, had a complete hysterectomy in June 2014, still suffering from PCOS and related weight gain, suffer from metabolic syndrome and pre-diabetes. Got a new Dr in December and he changed my life. I had tried everything (I thought) to lose weight, slimquik, hydroxycut, atkins, weight watchers,…
  • what about fat bombs? They are my go to late night snack, here's my favorite http://ketodietapp.com/Blog/post/2014/08/20/Strawberry-Cheesecake-Fat-Bombs
  • Thank you all for your informative answers. I am new to the keto diet and had never heard of keto strips until reading about them on a post here. I ordered them along with my almond and coconut flour in hopes of transitioning into a keto diet with ease. The coconut and almond flour haven't been all that they were cracked…

  • Also, I am a snack food junkie so I have been experimenting with keto snack food recipies to try to keep my cravings down.
  • Feel free to add me, I am new as well and shooting for 20g or less per day. I try to log every time I put something in my mouth so that 1) I don't forget, 2) I know where I am always so I don't try to log it all at once only to find out that I went way over.
  • 20g or less per day. Most of my carbs come from supper, my biggest meal of the day because I have to cook for our family. Heck I hit 5g first thing in the morning when I take my vitamins, usually at 10g by supper time and that meal usually makes up 10 or less for me. That number easily puts me in ketosis, I hope to be able…
  • yes I am positive my ovaries were removed, I saw my pathology report.
  • I was mainly suprised with how many carbs are in everything I used to eat! Low carb is new to me and I never paid attention before because I didn't struggle with my weight until this past year, when I committed to low carb I was shocked at how many carbs I had been taking in. I used to be a hard core Coke drinker, I easily…
  • I try to do 25 or less carbs a day. Looked at my vitamins today and between my multi vitamin and fiber supplement there are 4 net carbs....thats a lot when you can only have 25. I do take the gummie vitamins though because any other kind has always upset my stomach, I'm sure the non gummy vites have much less.
  • I found this post through a link you supplied on on of my other questions, so thanks a ton! Before I started LCHF dieting I did monthly meal planning through a website. I have to travel an hour to Walmart, but do it once every two weeks because our local store is crazy expensive and very low on selection. Anyway, when I…
  • Thank you so much for your response. I am definately going to try a cup of broth a day to help replace electrolytes and I started vitamins today! I understand that low blood sugar is sort of the goal, and with keto you want the body to have to use stored fat for energy, I just felt that 45 was dangerously low and I felt…
  • tested with HA1C, also tracked blood glucose for two weeks by taking 6 times per day. H1AC was 5.9 Most pre and post meal rapid tests were within normal ranges, morning or fasting was always above 115. The Dr is an Ob/Gyn and he said that I had impaired fasting glucose and with the PCOS, my symptoms, and test result that I…
  • Thank you, I will check out those groups, as far as a specialist goes, I would love that option, however I live in very rural Kansas, 4.5 hours away from any kind of specialist. The gyn travels to my small town once every three months to see patients. I am not seeking medical advice here, just trying to see if anyone else…
  • I was upset that I had to pop the glucose tablets but my sugar was dangerously low, it was a last resort, I had rid my home of simple sugars so I had no other options. I am trying the keto diet but it is very hard. I have to cook for three children and a husband. My husband is supporting me completely so that is helpful.…
