  • So it is a real problem affecting everybody? I thought that it was my PC. What else should we expect from MFP...? >:)
  • If you are a man, the bolded part is BS!
  • Hello everybody. I was thinking in bringing this thread a life, and @snoo61 and @RubyRed427 beated me to it. Thank you ladies! I finally got to work in the office stationary closet. I did a lot of cleaning and shredding, and my two DILs got a lot of hanging folders and clean papers that they can use at school. They are…
  • No I did not. The advantage of eating at a restaurant kept me under control. No booze, just turkey breast, broccolini and mashed potatoes; no stuffing or gravy because the first one had some cinnamon or allspice and the gravy had garlic :s ). But I am guilty of eating a piece of plain cheesecake, and my stomach let me know…
  • Whatever amount in grams is in the package of Quaker High Protein and Fiber instant oatmeal. The only one that I can "swallow" without gagging. I prepare it with 2/3 cup of FairLife 2% Protein cow milk, and some kind of fruit like blueberries or raspberries. By the way, I only eat oatmeal once or twice a month.
  • The "F" in MFP is for Fitness, not for Fat or Food. Many people join this site not to keep track of their diet or daily calories for ever, but just to find a guidance and balance. MFP is a learning tool, not a devotion tool. Some people that had eating disorder in the past, find that the daily tracking is counterproductive…
  • No, I don't log on Thanksgiving or any other holidays, specially if I am eating out or not cooking the meals myself. I am in maintenance and I have a pretty good idea on how to control my portions. I don't eat most of the holiday's food anyway because I don't care for most casseroles or pies, so that saves me calories. I…
  • I track but not too religiously or with much consistency. I do keep track of my body weight and how the clothes fit. This is how I was able to stay in control for the last nine and half years of maintenance. I take a break from logging and weighing when I am on vacation and sometimes during the weekends as well or when I…
  • Click this link or paste in your browser; lots of good information is there. Remember that Google is your friend. :)…
  • In my opinion is a matter of preference and convenience. I can't have in my house all the equipment available at the gym, and even if I could, I wouldn't. The gym gives me the chance to get out of the house, and have time for me without interruptions, and have more motivation and variety. I am retired and I have more…
  • @lightenup2016 Check the link below. I think that you will get answers to your questions in those postings. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10207059/before-and-after-face-edition/p100
  • Complete your recipe with about 7 or 8 ingredients and save it. Then open it again and press "edit" and add the rest of the ingredients, and save it again. Hopefully it will work. The recipe builder has many problems, although it got better thru the years, but recently I was having problems again so I tried the method…
  • I don't care for Thanksgiving food that much either. I do like roasted turkey and when I cook it I do a good job, but with the exception of mashed potatoes, nothing else appeals to me. Sweet potato casserole is way to sweet for me. I prefer just roasted sweet potatoes with a bit of butter only, and green beans casseroles…
  • Thanks! At may age (I will be 76 in few weeks), having unrealistic or very ambitious goals is not recommended and can be very disappointing. I have been in maintenance for nine and half years and my fitness routine is consistent and pretty good, considering that my joints do not cooperate all the time. I know what I can…
  • The same ones that I had for 2019. Keep my weight under control, enjoy my life and my family, keep up with my fitness routine as much as possible and even improve it if I am able. Take care of my house and garden, travel, stay healthy and keep on breathing :D .
  • Black coffee with Splenda, brewed at home from Hawaiian Kona beans. No milk or creamers of any kind. And another cup in the early afternoon before hitting the gym.
  • Fitness classes in the morning because that is when they are available. Gym (strength, calisthenics, and cardio workouts) in the mid afternoon. I am retired so I have more freedom on how to schedule my fitness plans. However, when I was working, I always exercised after work and never before work.
  • Interesting, informative, and entertaining lecture. Even if I don't agree with everything that he said, and I am mostly referring to working out 7 days a week (rest is important for healing and strength), and that you need to work out early in the morning. Thank you for sharing.
  • You look great and good luck reaching your goals. It is good that you found something that works for you. Please disregard the "disagree" that somebody posted in your OP. That person had limiting comprehension of what you wrote, probably because you mentioned "Keto."
  • Right on, specially the bolded part.
  • My decluttering, cleaning, organizing and throwing away a bunch of old stuff and papers, have been going on for the last couple of days. The garage is a never ending chore since my husband doesn't like to throw things away, and doesn't help with the cleaning either. I have shredded countless pages of documents and general…
  • I eat to live, and I don't live to eat. Yes, for me food is fuel but I try to eat good, nutritional, and what ever is for me enjoyable, but I don't overdo it. I don't binge, food doesn't make me drool, and I don't like to get stuffed. We are all different.
  • Garage cleaning... >:)
  • mitzi2013 Glad to hear that you already talked to your doctor about it. I am sending you other links to help you get mor information. Best to you Cancer Support Community - Nutrition For Cancer Treatment https://www.cancersupportcommunity.org/Nutrition/CancerNutrition Nutrition for People with Cancer | American Cancer…
  • Considering your diagnosis, your doctor should oversee your health and fitness. Nobody in here is qualified to give you advice about what or how much to eat since you are probably going thru chemotherapy or any other cancer treatment. It seems that you are already losing weight on your own or maybe as the result of your…
  • I second @middlehaitch Never used one nor I am interested in getting one. My workouts and goals don't need to be tracked with a lot of precision. I only keep track of the minutes that I spend doing my workouts, not the calories. I am not a number person, and if I need to keep track of my fitness, I would prefer to use a…
  • I still don't know what I am doing for Thanksgiving (or even for Christmas) since none of my kids live near by. We may go out with one of them, if we fell like driving or stay home. If we stay home, I may cook something simple for the two of us unless my niece and her family would be interested in joining us. I am not…
  • OP looks very young in her profile (and not too overweight). This is not the place for her If she is under 18.
  • No much difference for me between winter and summer. My winters are not existent, compared with the rest of the country, and I workout indoor with fitness classes in the morning and the gym in the afternoon. The advantage that I have between fall and spring is that I can walk to and from the gym, if there is no wind, or…
  • I am retired since 2010 and not planning to change that. I am almost 76 years old, so I deserve the break. My job was stressful, and it required monthly domestic and/or international travel. I got tired of airports, planes, and hotels and since my husband was already retired, I worried about him being alone all the time.…
