Today I FINALLY ran my first 5k all the way through without stopping! Cried when I crossed the finish line too! I never thought I would be able to do this. I remember posting in this thread months and months ago when I met my goal of running 1 mile straight without stopping. I never thought I would get this far. I'm so…

I ran two miles without stopping! This was a huge accomplishment because this time last year I couldn't even run 3 minutes without having to stop for a break.

1. PATIENCE!!!!

My boyfriend told me that ever since I've started to track my calories (almost a year ago whoa), he's been more mindful of what he cooks me for dinner when I go over to his house. He always is supportive when it comes to working out and my food choices. He's already in good shape and runs a 5k almost every day after work,…

Are you weighing all your food on a food scale?

Looking good in pics when I go to Florida and Maui this summer!

Ignore!!! I can totally sympathize. When I first started losing weight my mom would ALWAYS make comments about how slowly I was losing weight. I told her I only wanted to lose .5 to 1 lb per week and she told me that "I could lose at least 2 to 3 lbs per week..." uh NO, that's not how that works! lol So I've learned to…

I'm student teaching right now, so almost a teacher! I've lost about 36 lbs so far and I have 15-20 to go. You can add me if you'd like!

I went to the sand dunes with my boyfriend's family and everyone ran down the dunes except for me. I was scared of how winded and tired I would be on the climb back up and didn't want to embarrass myself. I realized that my physical condition was preventing me from doing things I wanted to do and I never wanted to feel…

Went down a notch on my Fitbit strap :P

I had the same problem a few months ago. I wasn't able to run for about 9 weeks because of my stubbornness and unwillingness to rest. Rest now and find good shoes. Taking rest days between runs is a lot better than not being able to run for weeks!
-
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Looks like I'll be taking another break from running for at least a little while. Hopefully that helps!
-
I've been loosely following couch to 5k, but going at my own pace. Maybe I'll switch to something else besides running for a couple days and see how I feel.
-
I did this for about two months. I injured my knee and was unable to do any time of exercise (except for swimming, which I don't enjoy). I just stayed at a slight deficit and lost .5 pounds a week until I was able to workout again.

I was actually around this weight in high school and found that my frame was still quite large! I've always had broad shoulders, a large rib cage, and wider hips at a lighter weight. It's just my bone structure haha

I've lost 33 lbs so far, cut my rate of loss to .5 lbs a week and have only lost about .3 to .4 a week for the past few weeks. Some weeks I didn't lose any. Doesn't really bother me because I'm taking it slow and steady. In the beginning, I was losing about a pound to a little over a pound a week and I sustained that for…

I started at 216, down to about 180 right now. I have a wider frame (large hips, rib cage) and a good amount of muscle mass so I would probably maintain and feel best at about 150-160.

Okay, I'll say it. I'm from the Midwest and I love ranch. Before I was watching my calorie intake, it was a classic drunk food for me. Chicken tenders and ranch. Fries and ranch. Veggies and ranch. Ranch on salad. I still make room for it in my diet on a weekly basis. Also, no ranch substitutes. It has to be the real thing!

I ran a mile today without stopping and it was 3 minutes faster than my mile a couple months ago! (Which I couldn't even run all the way through!)

Mine is about 7,000 before exercise. I usually run as a workout and that brings it up to 10,000. I'm a student-teacher so I'm on my feet a lot. I still find myself walking around the classroom just to fit my steps in.

I'm 25 and fairly active on here! I also have an open diary for friends. I've lost about 30lbs so far in the past six months and I'm looking to lose about 20 more. Anyone can add me if they'd like to.

1. Buying a food scale 2. Spending less money on fast food (I'm still a sucker for an egg white delight from time to time)

I used to drink it daily all last year. Weaned myself off of it though cause it caused my anxiety to flare up pretty badly!

1. Nope, I would say it's more like 80/20 realistically. 2. If I'm hungry, I usually eat something that I'm in the mood for and track it accordingly. If I go over, I go over. I've learned to make healthier choices in the long run so my cravings have changed a lot. 3. Stress usually isn't an indicator of how I eat anymore.…

I lost about 30 lbs in 5/6 months by eating around 1500 to 1700 calories and doing cardio/strength training 4 to 5 times a week ( i focus more on strength training though). I didn't notice it until I took my waist measurement and noticed my waist went from 37 inches to 32! I suggest taking measurements and taking pictures.…

Funny enough, it took me 5 months to run 1 mile straight! You can do it!!
-
I tracked everything I ate for my own peace of mind, but I did go over on several days. I don't feel guilty about it and I probably gained a pound or two which in the grand scheme of things isn't a big deal.
-
About a 30 pound difference between the two pics!
-
I was over my goal by a decent margin for four days in a row due to various family parties and I enjoyed every one of them fully :) No regrets!

I've had my Fitbit Versa watch for about 8 months and I would say it's been generally accurate on my calorie burns. Over that time period, I've consistently lost weight using the estimations it gave me. Although, I agree with the poster above that it can vary greatly from person to person and what type of exercise you're…
