  • I’m also 5”2, 10 years older, and use Apple Watch. I don’t think of it as a fitness tracker and take the numbers with a grain of salt. I had Fitbit before and both trackers have my TDEE well above 2,200 calories a day. From years of tracking and having enough data, my TDEE is more like in the 1,800’s. Im with everyone else…
  • I’m in Maryland as well. At Litime Fitness. Everyone is compliant with mask use and wiping down after usage. The staff is consistently cleaning as well. I’m so thankful they have reopened. My performance and body composition has improved vs the training at home with limited equipment.
  • I also say weigh everything. Weigh all solids by the gram. Measuring cups are ok for liquids. Like others mentioned, even prepackaged items should be weighed. I’ll give you an example. I use Ezekiel bread, it says one slice is 34 grams. I’ve had slices that were up to 44 grams. Try to be as accurate as possible. I’m also…
  • You don’t need the MFP app on your watch. Unless you meal plan using the watch to enter the data. Apple Watch doesn’t transfer info well to MFP. You can log workouts using the watch and those will show up under exercise. But you don’t get credit for all your other steps outside of the logged workouts. You can use Pacer,…
  • Disneyland?
  • Disneyland?
  • 50-60K steps a day? 25 to 30 miles? Get blood work done. Gaining rapidly can be due to underlying health issues.
  • My issue wasn’t a sweat smell. I’d hang my gym clothes on hangers to dry before washing. But I noticed that when I start to sweat, there would be a mold smell, even though I was not tossing wet clothes in the hamper. My sister introduced me to this & I haven’t stopped using it. It took that moldy smell out. It’s not an…
  • I use this stuff. Gets the smell out of gym attire. I use it for everything.
  • I’ve upgraded. But yes, cheap vodka & tequila I know lol.
  • All of the generic sanitizer in the US smells like cheap tequila. Must be the same in the UK.
  • You can use the Pacer app to transfer data to MFP. In MFP, select the Pacer for steps. Connect Apple Health to Pacer as well. When you log a workout in Apple Watch then sync to Pacer, you will see two adjustments, one from Pacer, one from the Apple Watch. Delete the Apple Health bc it’s a double. For the adjustment, if you…
  • I used Pacer for a bit. But now I don’t really care. This is what it looks like now without Pacer.
  • This. Pacer will work to transfer date to Apple Watch. In MFP, under steps, select Pacer. Connect Pacer to Apple Health. When you track your workout in Apple Watch & sync, you’ll see 2 adjustments. One from Pacer, one from Apple Health. Delete the Apple Health bc it’s a double. If you select sedentary, your entire “move…
  • I’m in Maryland. My gym opened mid June. Masks are mandatory at all times. It takes some time getting used to it, but with so many asymptotic cases, I’m ok with masks in the gym. No issues lifting, but running is uncomfortable. It’s very empty. Not many people are back.
  • I’m 5”2. Two-three pound gain or loss is noticeable on me.
  • I had Fitbit for a few years and now Apple Watch. Both have my TDEE over 2000 a day. But by calculation and years of tracking with excel, I know my TDEE is more like 1800’s. I’m also a petite female so I understand the struggle. I’m 5”2 and I fluctuate bn 118-120. OP’s BMR is around 1600 with those stats. So 1900 doesn’t…
  • The disposable ones I had a hard time with. I got cloth ones from Gap and they were much better. I received an Under Armor one as a gift and used for the first time today. It’s a thick mask, it was fine for lifting, but my face was heating up with I was running & it was uncomfortable.
  • It doesn’t have to be someone coughing or sneezing. In an indoor space, microscopic spores can linger from people just having a conversation. There is a Japanese study that used infrared light & showed it. So I’m not opposed to wearing the mask in the gym. There are too many asymptomatic cases and someone may be infected &…
  • Ok. Got it. If you select 1/2 pound a week, your calories would be higher. Keep in mind MFP is designed to let you eat back your exercise calories, so that’s why it gave you such a low number. With no loss after 4 weeks, my suggestion would be to tighten up your logging. Prep your own meals so you know exactly how many…
  • This & how much you want to lose weekly. I don’t know your age, but at 156, your BMR is most likely in the 1400’s. What is your weekly weight loss goal set to? What is your activity level in MFP? As far as eating out. I just don’t do it. Last fall I was in South Florida. I was with my friend had gastric sleeve so she eats…
  • [/quote] Do you think I got 1300 because of my height? I am 5'2 so I notice I usually get lower numbers. I just ask because I know people will adjust their numbers sometimes to get more calories during the day, but that might play into activity level I suppose I should just stick to the 1300 and track more of my intake and…
  • Are you using a food scale? Not tracking cheat meals & over the weekends can be derailing your progress during the week depending on what you are eating. After 4 weeks you should be seeing some loss if you are in a calorie deficit.
  • I’ve been back for a month now. I’ve had to slow down my pace and break up my cardio on the treadmill. It’s definitely challenging trying to run with the mask on. Lifting is fine with a mask. It’s not as bothersome. Both take a few sessions to adjust to. I find that a cloth mask is easier to breath with vs the disposal…
  • I have a sweet sweat waist trainer. I got it bc I wanted to sweat more, not that I thought it would shrink my waist. However, I stopped using it. I would normally do my cardio then weights. When I would do squats, the movement would shift the waist trainer bc of the trapped sweat, and it would leak. So it literally looked…
  • The more you use the watch, the better it gets to know your activity. I don’t think the numbers were inflated bc of your weight loss. They are just inflated. I had this conversation with a trainer at my gym just the other day. My maintenance calories based on experience and tracking is about 1800 on an active day. Apple…
  • Apple Watch & MFP don’t integrate well. The active calorie don’t transfer over but will if you use an app called Pacer. You can download the free version & link to MFP for steps. And connect to Apple Health. If you track a workout in Apple Watch & sync, you will see 2 adjustments. One from Pacer, one from Apple Health. You…
  • Apple Watch doesn’t translate info into MFP like other trackers. There is a 3rd part app called Pacer. You can link MFP to Pacer for steps, link Pacer to Apple Health. When you track a workout in Apple Watch, and sync to Pacer, you will see two adjustments. One from Pacer, one from Apple Health. You can delete the Apple…
  • I have an Apple Watch & I think the numbers are inflated. I’m a petite female, 120lbs. My 32 min session today with avg heart rate of 128 gave me 189 calories.
  • Is it too early for wine?
