Thank you 3dogsrunning. The link was very helpful.

Everyone keeps talking about the deficit. What is that and how do I know what mine is?

Thank you Cheshirecat for the article. That clears things up and answered the questions I had.

@jemhh - thank you for your response. I wasn't sure if there were certain exercises I could do to help shrink my belly.

Thank you to those who gave helpful answers. For those of you men who gave smart-*kitten* answers, I don't need them. Hello. My name is Jes. I'm a little late to the thread so if there's still a spot open I'd like to join. Thanks.

@Iron_Feline, I usually don't eat every calorie back. I usually eat about 50-80% of them back but there have been a couple days where I'm starving and do eat all of them, but that's not very often. My workout/nutrition knowledge is very minimal and I never know if I should eat back the calories burned or not.

Thanks for all the replies. I know I have a whey protein shake and a couple other tubs of shakes that my husband has bought at one time or another. I'm doing kettlebell workouts to lose weight and tone my muscles. I have my settings at losing 2 lbs a week so I'm allowed 1200 calories.

Some things I read say to eat back the calories and other things I read say not to. It's so confusing. I will not eat them this week and see what happens. Thanks for the replies.

I opened up my diary.

Hi! I have a similar story as yours. I had two babies in two years and need to lose about 85 lbs. I'd love to be your buddy so we can do this together!
