  • Bella, your story is very similar to mine! I do have a program (MyBodyTutor) but it doesn’t involve counting calories. I have also struggled in the past with maintaining weight loss and healthy habits and I’m determined to keep it up long term this time. I hit my goal weight of 133 at the end of October 2018. I’ve been…
  • The seat on my stationary bike has suddenly become uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure the seat hasn’t changed, so I must have less cushioning in my “seat.” 😀
  • @kgirlhart thanks! I don’t count calories any more but I do keep a food diary. I’ve been working so hard on my impulsive eating and secret eating. Being in maintenance is so hard because of the constant fear that I’m slipping back to my old ways! But even though I don’t count calories any more, I know I ate a healthy…
  • Our neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant doesn’t have salads on the menu but they do have lettuce that they serve with egg rolls. So I always order a side of lettuce, roll it up, and eat it straight. My husband tells me I’m part rabbit. And nobody seems to appreciate my Wickles spicy pickles with almond butter on sprouted…
  • My coworker is now using Kondo as a verb. As in “I Kondoed my scarves last weeend.” She just Kondoed me into dumping the contents of two file cabinet drawers. They were filled with stuff from the last person who had my position eight years ago. Then my other coworker started pulling stuff out of our recycling bin! LOL!

  • I lost weight for the first ten months through diet, but I still wasn’t getting very much exercise at all. I started with mini goals to exercise for just ten minutes a day five days a week. And now I’m exercising at least 30 minutes a day six times a week. I feel great!
  • Some people think I’ve “suddenly” lost weight and I might be getting “too thin.” It took me 12 months to lose 30 pounds. And my BMI is 22.7. I’d have to lose 28 more pounds to be underweight.
  • @gradchica27 good for you! Every time you make a good choice like that, you form new grooves in your brain to keep up those great habits!
  • My husband told me I even take up less space on the couch. 😂
  • On a related note to my post above. I guess I used to bond with other people who were overweight. Like joking about needing chocolate after a stressful day. Or saying I’ll start a new diet later. But now I don’t have that connection with other people. I’m not comfortable sharing how good I feel unless they bring it up.…
  • It’s hard when people around you express jealousy. A coworker was passing out staff T-shirt’s we’d ordered and she said “Here’s your small T-shirt “. Another coworker expressed disgust that I was a small. It is hurtful. I used to be jealous too but I didn’t express it out loud.

  • @ahunter1283 I’ve also noticed that I didn’t not get sick and I teach in an elementary school! Kids and coworkers are always sick but I stay healthy!
  • @JaniceVACPA 133 was my goal weight too and I have been losing 1-2 pounds a month for last two and a half months. I sent you a friend invite.
  • I am grateful this morning for my food hangover. I overate a bunch of sweets last night for the first time in months and my body has revolted. I had a bad stomach ache last night and this morning I feel bloated and uncomfortable. My body just can’t tolerate this anymore and I WILL learn this lesson from my body!
  • Just put on my old skinny pants, the ones that I couldn’t wear unless I was on the thinner side. They were very loose! Almost too loose to wear!
  • This thread makes me really happy. T demonstrates the power of focusing on the positive. Today I tried in on hand me downs from my fit 20-something niece (I’m 50). It felt good to try in small sizes that fit!

  • I’m so happy for you! I remember a fitting room moment when the sales lady asked me why I was trying on pants that were too big AND the wrong type of fit (curvy). That’s when I realized I had no clue what my new body looked like. It takes time. I’m glad you have a supportive friend!
  • I got to see a good friend I haven’t seen since I lost weight. He texted my husband about how good I look! He said it wasn’t just the weight loss, but that I looked fit and radiant. Radiant!
  • Nope. No dyspraxia that I know of, but I sam very clumsy. Especially dance and aerobics. I have yet to figure out the electric slide. So I tend to gravitate towards walking, stationary bike, and jogging because there’s no tricky moves. However, at age 50 I have also learned to not care what I looke like. I did Oula class…
  • My husband bought me Lululemon yoga tights. I wouldn’t have spent that much money but I love them.! They are too cold though for winter running. He bought me Lululemon On th Fly pants for Christmas. I layered the yoga pants with On the Fly Pants for a run at 40 degrees and it worked great.
  • I agree to “run for you.” I have a friend who told me “I’m a really slow runner. I only run a ten minute mile.” That made me feel really insecure because it took me long time to build up to a ten minute mile. By for your reference, I am 50 years old. I haven’t run for over a year but I have lost 29 pounds. Last week while…
  • Not bad for 50 years old. I had one pregnancy with a c-section in 2002. I lost almost 30 pounds this year and I’m currently 129.5 pounds. I don’t mind the extra sag as long as my health is good. That’s why God created shapewear! 😀
  • 1. Added less and less milk to my coffee every week until I could drink it black. 2. Instead of snacking after work, I drink a big glass of water. I never would have believed this would work, but I really don’t feel hungry after drinking water. I now eat three square meals a day without snacking and I don’t get hungry…

  • 1. Stay within maintenance range for one more month (two months so far and counting) 2. Exercise five times a week for at least 30 minutes.
  • Before: 159 pounds on 1-11-18 After: 129.5 pounds on 1-3-19 I tend to focus on the size of my stomach and forget about how nearly 30 pounds makes a difference all over! Thanks to everyone for great inspiration!
  • It was hard for me but it was mostly mental. My rate of weight loss slowed down but I was still losing. What helped me was 1. Trying to focus on other goals within my control like my exercise routine and food choices. 2. Reminding myself of all the positives. I was already at a healthy BMI and I had already lost more…
