I may be wrong but some recruiters do workout sessions for people who are committed to joining- early in the morning- for 'poolees'. I'd get down the office and speak to them, if you haven't already. There are some cool videos and articles online about people who have lost significant amounts of weight to enlist in the…

I was on for 4 months- worked well for me without exercise as I have health issues and I was losing an average of a pound a week. Then I took a week's break for mental reasons which became a "I'll start back tomorrow" attitude as I reached for the next handful of crisps...Amazingly, I've only put on a few pounds (could…

I'm a healthy BMI and I never get attention regardless of my size! :(

Echo all the BMI comments here. Once you're in the range, it's a matter of aesthetics, physical comfort and physical performance. I'm 139lbs at the moment, just inside the healthy BMI for 5'3". I once briefly got down to a size 10 (UK) and I felt much happier at that size just in terms of how I looked clothed and…

I've hit healthy BMI and managed to keep it off so I'm happy with that. But I want to get back dating and I simply look and feel better at a lower weight.

Take it a day at a time. Celebrate every day you come in at your calorie goal. If you slide, then it's only that day that needs to be affected. You have a completely clean slate the next day. Take pride in making healthier choices or saying no. Others might try to guilt you or make you feel bad but you have to be bull…

I have chronic depression, too. 7 years since breakdown number 2. Wrecked my life but things are getting better- I even have a full time job interview on Tuesday. I know exercise doesn't hurt me but I totally lack the motivation 99% of the time, even for a walk with my dog. I have put on 2 stone through not moving and over…

I spent 3 months earlier this year losing weight and achieved my initial goal of reaching a healthy BMI. My weight's stayed roughly the same but I feel I want to lose another stone (14lbs) minimum just to feel better, move more easily and look better in clothes. I'm also looking to get back into dating. I don't require…

BMI is a handy general indicator of risk of illness and disease along the line. Unless you're an American Football player or Sumo Wrestler, it's something to be aware of. A good chunk of the people who don't like BMI aren't too happy with where they fall. I certainly didn't. It had me in the middle of the 'overweight'…

I'm starving by breakfast. I have 2 versions depending on my projected calorie intake the rest of the day. If I need a low cal breakfast, I have tinned fruit and yoghurt and I'm hungry by 11am. If I don't, I'll have porridge and tinned fruit but I feel so much better for it. I would definitely snack on rubbish if I didn't…

I'm currently on venlafaxine, lamotrigene and amipiprazole (Effexor, Lamictal and Abilify). My own experience is that they stimulate your appetite while making me really tired (although hard to tell if it's the depression instead). Of course, I was just about to throw a hissy fit and blame the meds for the weight gain when…

Over how long a period have you stayed stable? What are your stats and goal weight? Were you losing before this?
-
Definitely see your doctor. Bloods will set your mind at ease. Is there any chance you could be depressed? I had a year of uni where I slept a lot during the day and was really unproductive. Now I've had diagnosed clinical depression for over 10 years, 7 more chronically, I look back and do think I was depressed then but…

I, too, have to have a zero tolerance approach to trigger foods. I'm the type of person who'd eat a box of 6 Mr Kipling Viennese Whirls in a sitting if they were in the cupboard. Likewise any chocolate or other sweets. The only thing that stops me is if the item explicitly belongs to my mother then I don't touch it.
-
I keep aware of my cravings as they build up over a few days then I seem to have a day where I say *kitten* it and let myself have a bar of chocolate and a little bit of low cal ice cream. I just have to accept I'm eating over goal for that day and enjoy it. Two months in a row, I've only crumbled the day before my period…

Don't Look Now. I know it's meant to be a classic but I laughed through it.

5. I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. And wonder why guys don't find me attractive...Doing something about it now- weight loss being a component.

I'm 38. No luck yet. But know of a lady doctor who met her other half on a cruise at age 50. Given the issues my younger sisters have had with long term boyfriends/husbands I feel no great loss. But I am working on improving my appearance. I know you're just meant to be you and others should love you just the way you are,…

Healthy BMI first (140 lbs- just about there), then a mid-healthy BMI (120 lbs) that I'm hoping will get me back down to a UK size 10 which is my slimmest as an adult and I'd be very happy with. Lastly, I have a 'dream goal' based on the photos from mybodygallery.com of 110 lbs. That's purely for aesthetics and how I'd…

That lower calorie ice cream was a thing (although realising my portion size was double what it should have been probably helps too).

I love a good film theme from films I enjoyed- Jurassic Park, Inception- something stirring.

Currently experiencing this. I'd been losing at a good pace then suddenly a 2 lb increase. Last week I lost the 2 lb but only an additional 0.25 lb. This week my weight has been the same or higher. I'm hoping it's just hormonal or water weight as I've been having a (weighed) portion of Pringles on a couple of evenings.

Yup. But I'm really sedentary for health reasons. I do often go over by a few calories, maybe once a week or so I'm over by 200 if there's been something really good on offer like a slice of cake or sponge pudding. I don't sweat it. It's worked well for me so far. TOM coming up and I get mad sugar cravings. Going to have a…

Height 5'3" SW: 152.5 CW: 143.25 GW: 120 then re-evaluate 8 weeks in, 9.25 lbs lost. I had a woosh after my last period and felt great. Then the next week I put on 2 lbs. I actually shook my fist at the scale. Last week I lost it again but only lost an extra 0.25 lbs. Bit frustrated at the moment but trying to keep the…
