Don't buy a 2kg tub of whey unless you have already tried it, I've got loads hanging around just because I can't stand the taste! I use ProteinWorks Vanilla, lovely! :) Also beware of having TOO MUCH protein, happened to me, started hitting 150-170g a day, needless to say my guts were not too happy about it!

I lift, and have lost on average 4/6 inches around my body and when paired with proper nutrition, you will get the body you dream of, whilst kicking butt! Be sure to concentrate on form when starting out, and recovery is just as important as lifting!

I love cross fit! Wear a heart rate monitor to get your calories burn if you can't guess it, I generally put down 350 calories burnt, then I eat them back up again! (No junk, protein mainly). Seems to work for me, and my recovery is really quick!

When you start to lift forget checking in with the scales for a while, use a tape measure! I have "gained" about 2lbs over past month, but lost 4 inches off back, 5 inches of waist and 4in off hips! Yeah it works, at least mine is still working after going swimming, but I did find that it has problems staying in sync to the chest strap, it often says heart rate is 00 which evidently as I'm still alive is false. It only happens under the water though, probably due to water is denser and radio waves move slower? I dunno

I've used the TESCO shakes but like with all shake plans, can't stick to them for long. I do a lot of strength training and cardio so they really don't work for me, however sculptress shakes for a pick me up do the trick :)

Calories are important, but so is keeping on eye on fat, especially saturated fat, protein and carbs. It depends what you goal is.

I don't believe in cheat days, it makes you think that this is a diet not a lifestyle choice. I think it's best to have what you fancy in moderation .

I try not to eat anything after 8pm, except on the days I finish my gym classes late. I finish work late often 9-10pm but prefer to eat a low cal ready meal at work, stops the habit of a burger on the way home!
