When I have a sore throat all I want is hot liquids.

I agree with itscattopaz. Little switches can make a huge difference. I was a big creamer in my coffee addict. I removed the creamer. It took a few weeks but now I like it better black. I eat instant oatmeal every morning. I switched from 2% milk to no sugar added vanilla coconut milk and I actually am liking it better AND…

I agree. Use the beach bodies as encouragement instead of discouragement! If it happened overnight none of us would be here now! You got this....

Fantastic info - thanks for the post! I hope more new people just starting out find it before the "HELP! I'M NOT LOSING!!!" post begins......

Congratulations! You look fantastic!

I recently gave up creamer in my coffee. I was addicted. I now drink it black. I tried the unsweetened coconut milk in my coffee and again decided I'd rather drink it black. But it tastes great in my oatmeal!

I don't see a woman who is 17 lbs lighter in the mirror. I see the same person I looked at in the mirror when I started whose clothes just happen to be getting bigger....

I put on a pair of scrub pants this morning and I keep pulling them up because they are too big!

Congratulations on making the commitment and sticking with the program! You look great. Very inspirational!!!

I tried to work out very early in the morning for a couple of weeks. It just didn't work for me. I wasn't awake enough to get the most out of my workout. now I work out after dinner and it has made a huge difference. I guess it just depends on the time of day you are more focused and motivated.

Congrats on doing the work, staying on track and reaching your goal! You deserve it!!!! I'm always amazed at how much younger everyone looks as they lose! You look fantastic! VERY inspirational! Thanks for sharing your story and pics! :)

I understand the gym intimidation. Just go in there like you OWN it and pay no attention to others. You are there for YOU. Don't be afraid of the work. The outcome will be worth it! After a week or so, the endorphins will kick in and you'll really start to feel good afterward! You will want to keep feeling that way. Have…

WOW! Amazing loss! Congratulations! Sounds like you are almost half way there! You must be doing something right, because that's a large loss in 7 months! This app helps a lot as long as you weigh and measure your food. Diligence is the key. Oh, and patience helps too! Best wishes on the rest of your journey!

I've been doing 1200 since February 1st. I have good days where I almost can't get to 1200, and others where I could eat everything in sight. But knowing how I got here keeps me focused on the 1200. For me it didn't really get easier, I just learned how to manage it with both diet and exercise :)

eliminated creamer from my coffee in the morning replaced my soda habit with a water habit began incorporating more whole foods rather than processed foods no junk food or soda allowed in the house began fitting some exercise into my week making sure I am getting enough sleep keep positive motivators around

Feeling constricted by my clothing, no ease of movement (every little thing began to feel more challenging) and feeling awkward in public because of my size. Not to mention finding out I was pre-diabetic!!!

Make sure you have a food scale. Weigh and measure everything, be meticulous about counting your calories and exercise! Have patience with the process and with yourself. Best wishes on your journey!!!

There is a post called "calorie counting 101" on the General Diet and Weight Loss Help forum I would highly suggest reading. It may be helpful for you. Best wishes on your journey!

I wish this was a mandatory read before people sign up for MFP! It would put out a lot of fires when new people are confused, ask for help and then get strongly worded responses or flat out bullied sometimes - along with the people who are just trying to help them!!!! Starting out when you are new and confused can be very…

Kudos to you for trying to make things better! Sorry to be pessimistic but I have a feeling no matter what you call it there will be some kind of argument. I sometimes feel like I'm an observer of the debate team in high school! Best wishes....
