Wow! Great progress!

What a great and motivational story. Love your attitude.

I prefer to run on empty in the morning. For me it's a time preservation issue. I'd rather do the run and then eat.
-
Do not drop your cardio, do both. You can alternate days and still have a rest day.

I love my Apple Watch but I've never had a Fitbit so I can't compare. I can only say that the step count and heart rate measurements work well for me. When you start using it for tracking workouts, you will have to carry your iPhone with you so it can calibrate, but after that you can leave your phone and it will sync up…

For low carb options, clams and fish seem like a good way to go. Also winter squashes like spaghetti squash will offer a lower calorie option for good potassium. Good luck!

Hi! I also want more female friends! I'm about a month in. I lost 35 lbs a few years ago, kept it off for more than a year and then the weight creep started. My SW is 187 and my first goal is 150.

Turmeric is a legit anti-inflammatory that is better absorbed with the addition of black pepper. Oz, et al did not make this up, they are just promoting it for their advantage. Golden milk is just one way to consume turmeric to take advantage of it's natural benefit. I happen to like golden milk. There are many different…

Thanks for the Fitness Blender tip! I just went and checked them out. Looks great!

Great tip re: Asian grocery stores. I definitely pay a lot for tofu at my regular grocer.
-
Thanks for sharing your experiences with me.

I feel certain you can find healthy food you enjoy. Do you cook? I do both - I eat healthy food I enjoy and I have things just because I like them. Like pizzzzzaaaa

"The only workout I ever regretted was the one I didn't do."

Go to bed! Then you won't eat. Also, don't have that stuff in your house. You want your kids to be healthy too, I'd imagine. If it's not there, then no one can suffer from it.

I race the person on the treadmill next to me. And I think about solutions for things at work. And I think about my form. I'm afraid I'll get distracted by music and fall off the treadmill and I find it hard to read or concentrate on shows.

In addition to stretching exercises, I wear Kenkoh massage shoes in the mornings and evenings for 15 minutes at a time. They have changed my life. I don't have plantar fasciitis pain in the morning anymore. And I make sure all my shoes have support. Good luck!

I'm doing this with my son - so much fun!

This is a good idea. You can ease into it. Try replacing 1/3 of your meals with vegan meals and see how that helps you. It's admirable that you want to help yourself and your planet this way but also remember that it's about the best choices you can make for yourself at this time. We eat 50% vegan at my house, and we don't…

I with you on this. When I log my drinks, I can clearly see why I shouldn't be doing it. But dang it, I like it.
-
OMgosh, I feel like I did nothing right this week. But there is always something good you can find - I have continued to log on here and connect with people and seek motivation. It doesn't feel like much because this week I'm at a lost 1, gained 2. :( So I'm thinking about focusing on one healthy habit at a time - daily…
-
Hi! Add me too - I'm perimenopausal and would like to connect with people I can relate to!

Maybe a close friend at home can just log in for you to keep your streak going. I feel you, I like my streak! Pre-log and see if you someone can do this small favor for you.
-
I have found myself in a similar rut. I hope to get my motivation back by preplanning and logging my meals first thing in the morning, or even the night before, so there is no question about what I'm eating. I already meal plan so hopefully this strategy keeps me within my goal everyday. Like I didn't log at all today and…

You are my hero! Woot!

This week I saw a little weight gain. I can't pout about it too much because I really didn't do much to promote my good fitness. What I did well - I tracked my food for the entire week! WOOT! So yes, I can look back and tell you that all that beer last weekend did not help my fitness goal. What I need to improve - daily…

Congrats! I'm so glad I read this, thanks for sharing. Just the kind of motivation that keeps us all going!

I would be up for some sort of walking/running challenge. 100 miles in 30 days is like doing a 5k every day. I am not sure I can commit to that. 3 miles a day at least 5 days a week for five weeks would be 60 miles. I could probably do that. Maybe after I proved to myself that I could, I would go for 100 in 30!
-
That's great! I am starting some bodyweight training next week.

I agree with the idea that your husband should be able to step up and tell his mom to back off. You on the other hand are in charge of what you can change. So try one small thing. If you have a stressful day and want to binge, go for a walk instead. Walk until the urge passes. Sometimes that will only be after a few…

Great work! I bet you feel great too. Congrats so far!
