  • Accountability is always hard. Especially if your family and friends aren't a help. I got to my goal weight and want to lose more body fat (and some additional weight), and my mom replies with "black women don't get that low" (I'm about 9 pounds from my new goal weight) and my coworkers keep trying to get me out to…
  • Don't force yourself. It is possible to drink to much water. If you really aren't thirsty don't force it. If your urine is basically clear, you are drinking more than enough (maybe too much). Personally, a Gallon is usually too much for me on a normal day. If I'm running 8 miles or doing 2 one hour workouts, then I might…
  • Overall, yes, it will work. Calories in and out is all that matters when losing weight. Eating healthy however can increase the speed of weightloss, limit plateaus you may experience, help maintain muscle during weightloss, give more energy for workouts etc. Eating healthy helps accelerate fat loss. What most people want…
  • As someone who spends a lot of time on the internet, people tend to write short and sweet. I think it really took off with Twitter with the limited character count. Add live stream chats where you don't have time to write a lot due to fast communication, I think the younger generation has made it a habit to talk this way.…
  • I find it difficult at times to use it. Theoretically, you can have a sedentary lifestyle but do intense workouts everyday. It can be hard to decide if you should put that sedatary level if your exercise is long and intense but not moving much for the rest of the day. Theoretically, you should require more calories as a…
  • I started at 180 on Halloween last year with a goal of 155. I surpassed that goal now so I've lowered it 10 lbs. 5'9" at 145, I can't complain. I've gone from a size 12 to an 8 (sometimes 6) now. August Start Weight: 157.6 lbs August Goal Weight: 150 lbs Ultimate Goal Weight: 145 lbs August 1: 157.6 August 8: 155.2 August…
  • I’m in college. Feel free to add me.
  • Dark chocolate is my choice. In small amounts it’s pretty good for you and because it’s bitter you can’t eat in large amounts but still satisfies the sweet tooth. Dark chocolate is 40% coaco or more. I tend to not go above 65% as it starts getting too bitter for me. Lindor dark chocolate truffles are my favorite
  • I would try walking for an hour a day. It’s easy on your body and if you walk at a decent pace you can burn off quite a few calories. Moving around throughout the day will help too. I recommend an activity watch that will notify you if you’ve been inactive for too long.
  • It’s possible but don’t try losing more than 2 lbs a week. More than that isn’t healthy and tends to be gained back easily if you cheat your body. Be careful how you go about it.
  • It is possible your gaining weight because you aren’t enough enough, drinking enough. Your body will fight for every calorie and retain water if you aren’t eating enough. The other alternative as many said is that you are eating more than you think. Use n activity tracker and my fitness pal together. Know how much you’re…
  • About 5’9” myself at 178.5. I have just lost 20lbs losing a lot of it in 2 months this summer. My goal is 160. Feel free to add me as well.
  • I have hypothyroidism as well. It does become harder to lose weight. At your age, losing weight will be more difficult so half a pound a week is pretty good. Here are a few tips that may help you further. Drink water and/or green tea. Both will assist in speeding up your metabolism naturally. If you need to drink try to…
  • Unfortunately, boobs are made of fat so you do tend to loose some of it when you workout and lose weight. Your skin should bounce back a little but I don’t know how excessive it is. Focus on building some muscle there instead and think of the positives of weight loss. It will get better and you may not notice weight loss…
  • What your experiencing is a plateau. Super common. Try changing what type of workout you’re doing or change the intensity. When your body gets used to a particular exercise, it tends to become harder to lose weight.
  • During a plateau there are a couple things you should look at. One, do you look smaller? Sometimes it’s muscle your gaining. You should occasionally take body measurements l so you can see. Two, what is your calorie intake and why type of foods are you eating? The third is what I think is the most common. Your body has…
  • If you’re willing to spend money, I recommend Zombies, Run! App. It’s fun and gives you a storyline where you are the main character. There are five or six seasons now and it keeps track of your stats as well as play your music in between the story parts. It’s the only app I use for running or walking. As I hate it, this…
  • The full insanity workout gives you better stretching and flexibility as it spends more time on it. In the long run this is worth it and helps your muscles endure more and prevent injury. Plus longer usually means more calories burned.
  • The first question is form. Is your form correct? Have someone knowledgeable in proper form take a look at you. The second is how fast are you doing them? When I go to the gym I see a lot of people with proper form but are doing it too fast to get any benefit from it. If you go fast, you use momentum to help you. Go super…
  • Didn’t even notice I spelled Insanity wrong. Oops. Great. Onward to fitness!
  • Doing Iminsanity and on day 8. Wanna encourage each other?
  • I’ve done insanity before. I’m already on day 6 and while I can’t get through without extra stops I e already noticed a mark improvement.
  • I did it in the past about two years ago. It’s doable. It reminds me of the sports I used to do in high school. I’m an all or nothing type of gal.
