  • Yes - it’s great and has a new app that syncs with MFP
  • Telford Shropshire here too :) Lots to lose and using MFP with Fitbit.
  • I did the Heidelberg test after repeated bouts of anemia even while supplementing. Doc said it is not conclusive but as he has now seen my vastly improved blood test results - especially for Iron, Ferritin and B12 he agrees that the Low stomach acid "was probably the cause" but it was grudging lol.
  • I found I was often deficient in a wide range of vitamins and minerals - some of them even when supplementing. It was found that Low Stomach acid was the reason - which is prevalent in Hashis. I now take Betain HCL with Pepsin at Lunch and dinner. The increased acid means my stomach can now break down my food better…
  • I worry that anyone thinks that getting TSH "into range" means you will be well. For a few that may work, but not for many - as evidence by the numbers still not well on standard treatment. For me I have to be very close to suppressed before I can even function let alone live. We are all different and far too many people…
  • Telford Shropshire here - lots to lose and loving using my Fitbit with MFP - happy to have more buddies :)
  • I have hashis. I am more than 5 stone overweight. I lost a little weight when initially on medication, but then put on when it clearly needed raised and the docs wouldn't. Now I am NDT and finally have enough energy to make some effort and am losing weight - plus nearly all my other symptoms have gone too :) They key when…
  • My Fitbit Charge HR arrived today. Just sussing it out!. This was a gift for my 1st stone lost (actually 1/2lb short, but got it anyway!) I am in UK and very happy to be added om MFP and/or Fitbit //www.fitbit.com/user/3D43KY
  • I am on Thyroid S and take it immediately my alarm goes off at 6:30. (I take a pill box up to bed with me so I don't forget.) I eat breakfast at work 8:30ish so that is a 2 hour gap and very empty stomach. I take a second dose at noon and lunch is 1pm - but due to work meetings its harder to be 100% on that one. I aim to…
  • I found 5HTP really helped me get to sleep and STAY asleep. Also Magnesium spray or an Epsom salt bath will both help me into the land of nod pretty fast :)
  • Kerry, for advice UK side, try Thyroid UK and it's chat forum HERE, Also good is Thyroid Patient Advocacy (TPA) I agree get chest pain checked out at A&E or call 111 for NHS Direct if unsure.
  • Hi Mary I am in Telford. New to this with 2nd weigh-in tomorrow.
  • I am in Telford, so the edge of west Midlands :)
  • Thanks Editorgrrl - Yes I found it and have added it to faves. I set the app to 1 pound per week, but even if its only half that I don't have a problem. As long as the direction is right that's fine :)
  • Any buddies?
  • Would love to have some weight-loss buddies on here. Not sure how that works! I am in UK and have a LOT to lose!
  • Back again :) Well I have been doing a LOT of reading here. Rather amazed to hear of all the exercise you guys are doing. Sheesh I am proud that I hold down a full time job but other than that I count it as an accomplishment if I manage to stay vertical long enough to cook a meal! Well done to you all - I hope to be there…
  • Hi all :) I just joined. I have Hashis and I am finally well medicated. (I finally told GP to get lost and self medicate with NDT and T3 - weird mix but it works for me!) I finally feel more human and am ready to start to shift the weight. Will write more later as spent so long exploring the site and the app that I didn't…
