Am I reading this right? You think I'm singling out cookies? and not just using it as an example in my sentence? seriously? You're right. you win. I can't compete with this. In real life (whatever dietary path people decide to choose), talking to people about this with evidence is much much easier. I don't know if it's the…

No, not minnie. guess again

Ok fair enough. I will get banned. That I know. MFP doesn't like the IIFYM or CICO everything in moderation boat to get rocked. But, for the record, I still see the merit in those viewpoints because I have an open mind. But wow, as soon as anything that remotely challenges the fact that you can't have piece of mind eating…

Glad we agree on something. no... not the dreaded +1!!!!!!! The debunker of all debunkers!!!!!!

Oh wow, we've already established that my posting is "incorrect" and "doesn't support my stance". When exactly did that happen? I hope that isn't a reflection on how the whole forum makes decisions based on evidence presented. "Oh. I didn't read article, but she said something vaguely bad about it so it's clearly incorrect…

Sorry, we should take a step back. I didn't even ask if you read the full text. Did you? You must have access to the full article given your readiness to be condescending about literature. So I assume that you did. And I forgot to clarify - how does the statement you made about the article even come close to nullifying its…

Ok fine. great at critiquing studies, but doesn't post study herself. Please feel free to do so. We will all benefit. Don't be condescending about someone not understanding a study that they posted. You really never know the level of expertise of the person you are trying to insult.

All? You know medicine doesn't work that way. Do all smokers develop lung cancer? It's just about the spectrum of risk and where you are comfortable sitting on that spectrum.

Maybe b/c she doesn't want the medical reason in the first place http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25527677

Kelp is a good source too. Maybe iodine overkill actually.
-
Exactly. I'm not really trying to negate CICO. And yeah, it's intuitive eating. but to make intuitive eating possible (at least for me), the focus on "what" replaces the focus on "how much" in the diet. That's all I was saying. Just a different way of looking at it.
-
Well, there's a different way of looking at it. I don't necessarily argue against the concept of a calorie. I lost 50 lbs 2 years ago changing my way of eating. I have since been at my maintenenace weight for 2 years. Never once have I paid attention to a calorie count. Ever. I never knew how many calories were present in…

Your best bet is one-ingredient foods (meat, fish, fowl, eggs, veggies, fruit, nuts). Lots of Primal/paleo cookbooks and websites. Just don't substitute the gluten with the gluten free substitutes that are even worse.

American Heart association's advice is probably not one that I would follow regarding saturated fats http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20071648

Probably a good idea for health http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25527677

Hi, primal guy here. Feel free to add.

No prob.

Did Mr_Knight even read OP's opening comment?

Great! Then post some papers that you think are better! I'm certainly open to exchanging article for article. That's how we learn. Article for "I don't feel that is right"/"No! that's just wrong"/"Quit trolling"/"You're obviously confusing this with that"/"Stop"/"borderline funny gif" is amusing. But not useful.
-
Thanks for being objective, calm and mature in your response. I agree with everything you said - just posting the article.
-
Trolling. The word with infinite meanings. A new one has just been added. Posting things that people simply don't want to see/hear/learn about because of it doesn't jive with what they tell themselves.
-
Please quote any statements in this thread where I used the words "weight loss" or "heart health" to demonstrate my confusion between the two. I just posted an article. Read it. Or don't.
-
Did you just say "Evidence. Jesus."??? I'm sorry maybe I misinterpreted. There must be dust on my computer screen.
-
Oh, Oh right, sorry, using different threads for different topics totally goes against forum rules. Oh. wait. No it doesn't.
-
Neither me or the article are telling anyone to do anything. Just posting journal articles. As an alternative to people posting random thoughts. You do what you want with the information.

In keeping with the inertia I see in many

Here is recent evidence in support of the fact that NCGS does infact exist http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25701700 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25734566 As well, the last trial confirms what makes sense from an evolutionary biology standpoint, that regardless if you have symptoms or not, the gut does have…

There are lots of "debunkers" on the forum, which is good. I like to collect competing evidence/commentaries as well, so if you could please post those with links to the articles that would be great thanks!
