@AnnPT77 @westrich20940 @tomcustombuilder Just following up. Over the past two weeks I focused on not eating the full 1700 calories that I budgeted per day. Most days I have left over in the range of 100-150 calories but I did allow myself the full amount of calories this past weekend (Friday/Saturday). I'm happy to report…

@kshama2001 my diary settings are public. I'm 5'6" tall. I have been meticulous about tracking and weighing everything, except for the last two days because it was a Jewish holiday and I couldn't record my food because I don't go online on the holiday. I went off track a bit over those two days but nothing crazy. Except…

@cwolfman13 Thank you for the feedback and your analysis definitely shed light on the difficulty that I'm having with weight loss. I am 5'6" and have been tracking and weighing carefully for about 6 weeks and have lost nothing. I even cut my calories down from 1800 to 1750 and now to 1700. I AM at a deficit and am not…

@AnnPT77 and @Retroguy2000 I am so sorry that I missed your comments and analysis of my diary from back in March! I am new to these discussion boards and neglected to look back for more comments. I really appreciate the time that you both took to read through my diary. (I wouldn't even know HOW to look at anyone else's).…

@kwlamberton I definitely wouldn't feel guilty about overshooting by 91 calories for 1 day!

@tomcustombuilder I do spend a lot of time sitting and working but I also run around my school building a lot on work days and I exercise 5-7 days a week, even if it's just a short walk. I classify myself as lightly active, is that right?

@AnnPT77 Thank you for your very thoughtful response. I am playing around with timing as well as food choices. My functional medicine doctor told me to eat larger meals with enough protein and fat to sustain me so that I don't eat between meals. I'm finding that this, along with really keeping the sugar down makes me go…

@Jmatievich Wow. I don't believe that 1270 is sustainable for me. On WW with the free foods I was eating more than that. But now I believe I wasn't losing because I was probably eating more than 1800 calories a day. I figured that out when I transitioned to MFP and started recording my foods in both places. I'm hoping that…

@kwlamberton if I ate 1200 calories I would feel so deprived that I wouldn't be able to sustain it. It's obvious that everyone is different.
-
@vlvmom2014 I couldn't agree with you more. I'm all for slow weight loss and sustainable eating. I was on WW before Covid and lost about 14 pounds that way. But during the year of Covid I had hip replacement surgery and then a double knee replacement. I ended up gaining the weight back during that time because people were…

@westrich20940 I actually am 5'6"! So based on what you're saying 1750 is too much. I just cut down to 1700 and sometimes leave over a few calories at the end of the day. You have an interesting point about possibly eating a different amount based on level of activity. For example, although I do consistently work out,…

@cmriverside I just adjusted it to 30% protein 35% fat and 35% carbs which comes to 140g protein, 70g fat and 150g carbs.
-
@cmriverside I must have my diary set wrong. I was playing with the percentages and couldn't get it quite right. I got those numbers from my trainer but perhaps I need to tweak it somewhat.
-
@torontojulie I know, right? What kind of protein powder are you using? I have tried the pea proteins and hate them so I'm using whey - but I find that some whey powders also bump up my carbs too much.
-
@springlering62 Yes, I'm shocked about how many carbs carrots have. I just hope I'm guesstimating my salad properly. I make a huge salad for my husband and myself several times a week so I'm taking an estimate of how much of everything is in each salad.

@PAV8888 For a couple of days I logged what I was eating on WW against calories on MFP. It was eye opening to see that I was hitting 1800 calories and sometimes going over using the free foods on WW. The only thing that makes me anxious with MFP is logging calories from veggies, which are bumping up my carbs. I don't want…

For me the problem is that it's not completely sustainable to always weigh and measure foods. I really don't buy much takeout or rely on eating out but occasionally I do and in those cases you have to guesstimate.
-
@cmriverside I thought I was tracking quite accurately on the Weight Watchers app but with the free foods you can easily go over. @Retroguy2000 when you say to eat all the veggies I want, you are still staying to stay within the calorie range, right?
