  • I'm a recovering food addict and binge eater. I've found a lot of help with FAA's food plan. Good luck! http://foodaddictsanonymous.org/are-you-food-addict
  • I got a lot of help with FAA's food plan. I used to eat just like you! I'm finally free from the sugar, and I'm down almost 100 pounds. You can do this, but this website might help: http://foodaddictsanonymous.org/are-you-food-addict
  • Hey! I care more about personality than looks, and hopefully you'll find someone who appreciates you for you, not just what you look like! Congratulations on your weight loss! I'm sure the confidence you've gained will make you more attractive to women.
  • I know, I'm well aware that I think too far in advance. I overanalyze as a protective measure. I tend to get emotionally involved before I consider it logically... so this is me trying to avoid that.
  • Thanks for the responses! I think it will be a "wait and see" situation. We haven't even met in person yet. I was weighing the pros/cons to see if it'd be worth even trying.
  • I confess that I ate raisins, pistachios, and popcorn by the fistfuls last night, and I still ran my second best 5k this morning! I confess that even though I don't have children, I judge others' parenting styles.
  • I love a boyish smile and a guy who can sing. BTW, whoever told guys not to smile in profile pictures should be shot.
  • I understand that marriage therapy can be rough. It doesn't seem like you had good therapists. My ex and I went to therapy a few times and honestly it was torture. All it did was bring up all the pain I had stored away, and left it raw and on the surface. Nothing was accomplished, no "work" was done, no healing or better…
  • Have you tried marriage therapy?
  • I'd honestly be very flattered if some guy was even congenial with me at the gym... Or if he smiled... Or if he didn't immediately avert his gaze when I walked past... Or acknowledged my presence as a living thing in the same room. Ha. I need to get laid.
  • I don't know that I could give you good advice since I haven't been in your situation. I do feel for you though. That must be really tough.
  • Thank you for the support!
  • I confess that I came to MFP forums today to avoid loneliness. I also confess that I'd like to initiate contact with a guy that I wasn't that into because he liked me. I won't, but needed to express that somewhere. Feeling lonely sucks.
  • I didn't count calories the first couple of months. I followed the Food Addicts Anonymous Food Plan, which is strict on what/how much/when you eat. When I started counting, I was staying around 1200-1500.
  • This won't be a popular solution, but for me: I don't do sugar any more. My family knows this and they know about my weight loss goals (and success so far). Moderation has never worked for me and one cookie can send me into a three day binge. SO, I bring my favorite healthy foods (sometimes a more complicated recipe so I…
  • @Just_Ceci Thanks for sharing that link! That is so me!!! Thank you everyone for sharing! It's good to know that it's not just insecurity. I've had two good runs this week. An easy run with sprints on Monday on the treadmill and a tempo run yesterday outside. I find it much easier to keep a specific pace on the…
  • Yay! Thank you all for your kind words. @mlays005 I followed Food Addicts Anonymous's Food Plan (http://www.foodaddictsanonymous.org/faa-food-plan) at first. They ask you to give up wheat, flour, added sugars, and artificial sugars. I also gave up processed foods, gmo's, soy, and dairy since those are triggers for…
  • @taeliesyn Wow, after your first half marathon?!? That's at least a year down the road for me. Good to know!
  • Thank you all! It's funny to hear that I look younger. I'm 31, and I've been told for years and years that I look younger than I am. With the weight loss, I look in the mirror and think that I'm finally starting to look my age, especially around my eyes and neck. From your comments it seems I'm only growing…
  • I'm wondering... when do the psychological barriers break (or when did they for you?)? I KNOW that I can run for 40 minutes, but every time I start out, my brain says, "what are you doing?", "You can't do this", " just take a break ", "you're not a runner", "you can stop now", "why are you running", etc. My body wants to…
  • Hello! I'm pretty early in my training for 10K, and a fairly new runner (I've been running regularly for about 5 months, and pretty much never ran before that... for more than 10 seconds or so). I'm super proud of my run today. It was my coldest outdoor run (35°F), and the first time I fell while running... or let's just…
  • @mamarundrc Wow, I just looked up Shale Hell to see what it is. Just wow. I don't know how anyone is able to do that for 3 hours much less 24!!?! My goals: SV: - Hit the "healthy" bmi mark by 12/31/15 (7.6 pounds to go!) - Hit my GW by my birthday 06/11/16 (22.6 pounds to go!) NSV: - Run a 10K race - Increase biking speed…
  • Hello everyone! I just ran my first 5K race (31:58!!!) and now I've graduated from C25K, and I'll start B210K on Monday!
