I'm back, baby! I've missed the benefits of eating mostly ground beef, so I'm loading up on 80/20 and getting back to it.

October 15: Avoided Nightshades: Fail - Peppers in my omelette in the morning, cayenne in my dinner Meditation: Nope 1 serving or less of dairy: 2 - cheese in my omelette and HWC in a coffee (which I didn't even finish, so it's like 1.5) >5000 Steps: (4583 - not bad for sitting most of the day) < 20 g Carbs: 32g (whoops,…

Adding "No Nightshades" to my list because they're potentially giving me trouble (maaaad inflammation). Also adding meditation because I need to stomp on my stress. October 15: Avoided Nightshades: Fail - Peppers in my omelette in the morning, cayenne in my dinner Meditation: Nope 1 serving or less of dairy: 2 - cheese in…

Catching up on this week! October 13: 1 serving or less of dairy: (assuming a cheese soup is a serving and not a whopper of insane dairy, lol) >5000 Steps: (3243) < 20 g Carbs: 25g Eating only when satiated: (didn't really need that loaded coffee with dinner, now did I?) Exercise: (nope) October 14: 1 serving or less of…

Jumping in late on this (I have to get back in the habit of visiting the group). I eat fully Keto but I want to re-focus on eating to satiety and no further, getting my exercise in, and avoiding excesses of dairy. October 12: 1 serving or less of dairy: >5000 Steps: (3661) < 20 g Carbs: 19g Eating only when satiated:…

I choose not to eat peanut butter because the Omega 6 levels are pretty high, because I choose not to eat legumes, and because nuts tend to make my eyes roll back like a shark in a feeding frenzy. Only you will be able to tell if you can tolerate peanut butter, and whether it throws you off your game. My suggestion: Go…

Life post-GB challenge is terrifying and complicated. ;) I kinda wanna go back to it.
-
Think of it like this. You're not taking between 1/4 and 1/3rd. They're taking between 2/3 and 3/4 of food YOU had allocated for yourself! Defend it! Show those carnivore teeth!
-
I go with uncooked weights because my burgers are so rare all that moisture weight is still locked in. I only sear the outside.

*pours a 40 for @FIT_Goat's cheese future*

Happy to! I love data.

Here's my final write-up! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/glossbones/view/30-day-ground-beef-challenge-summary-832429

That freakin' entry gets me EVERY time I enter a recipe. I wish we could report/edit entries via the recipe maker, because I can't find that one in the standard database of foods.
-
@nicsflyingcircus that's pretty much how I ate the last 30 days. Monofood seriously IS easier. I just prepped my food for the week with coconut oil and everything feels so complicated and scary!
-
Penultimate day of my challenge; packed in 25.5 oz of grilled 80/20 and no less than 6 cups of black coffee. Probably closer to ten.
-
The only "true" butcher that I have found would charge me more than I want to pay for it, but I really should keep looking!
-
Wish I could find 73/27! I definitely want to lower my protein as I add other foods in, but 80/20 is the best I've been able to find thus far. And even that has been hard to come by. You're not kidding that it's contagious. Clearly someone else in my area has discovered the power of meeeeeat. Three days left, including…

Five guys was definitely better the last time I went, when I loaded it with all the low carb toppings I could. Bareburger so far is the only beef that stands on its own. There's one more restaurant I can try if I feel like spending $13 minimum on my angus patty.
-
I had three (they knocked the price down since I didn't get anything else). Not dry, but not the texture I prefer for my burgers these days. I'm spoiled by my hand-made patties. Drinking coffee now. I think I may skip dinner, or only eat one of the 4oz patties.
-
(Did end up eating that patty before lunch. I was hungry, dangit! I can always eat one or both of the 4 oz patties tonight as matches my appetite. After Chili's last week I'm kinda gun shy on eating patties out.)
-
Day 27! Five Guys for lunch. If the weight of a patty on MFP is correct, their patties are obscenely tiny. I'll ask when I get there. Looks like they're just under a quarter pound (like 3.3 oz instead of 4). So last night I picked up more fresh GB from the grocery store and made more patties, including two 4 oz patties to…

We need a "Things Crazy Uncle FIT_Goat said" wiki. :D I do find that too much protein gives me trouble on a "Keto" diet (air quotes because too much protein isn't strictly keto). I think my cuts of meat are too lean and the portions too large, in general. Then add almond flour to the mix and I'm just hungry all the time. I…

:D So is this club like... Thigh Master? Or The Beastmaster? (Beefmaster is this Ground Beef challenge but Beast Master is for the AAA group?)
-
Weight's up about 0.4lb today. Slightly less than the weight of the extra patty I ate last night. :D Hopefully today's a bit less hungry. I'm wearing a slim black dress and I don't want Contented Lion belly.

Like FIT_Goat I don't like to consider calories during my normal eating. However I have been calculating and tracking calories as part of this experiment so that someone can't point to CICO to explain the results. I have my caloric goal in MFP as 1350, which is how I set the carb limit I prefer. My usual CI is usually…

Think it's the anticipation of being nearly done? I'm having an extra hungry day. Had 8.5 oz more than normal, feel like I could eat another.
-
Wow! What an awesome reaction! Most people have to be shown a photo of me from before to prove there's been any change. ;)

Holy hell, guys. How am I already on day 25? I'm feeling a little sad that it'll be over soon. It's like Stockholm Syndrome. Delicious, delicious Stockholm Syndrome. I decided, today, for a matter of convenience, to eat both my meals at work. I ended up driving home at lunch yesterday because I forgot a couple things, and…

Hmm. I'll save that for tacos when I've added spices back, but I'll stick to my near-raw meat for now!
-
Sure, soon as I find $70 in the laundry. :D @macchiatto Awesome to hear! You just baked a tray wall-to-wall with ground beef? To what done-ness? I'm interested in a new way to make it!
