One week left! My husband's birthday is this weekend, and he's going for total carbage. Pizza and cake for a gathering of friends, Burger King's Angriest Whopper on the actual day. He's going to feel so awful! :D That's on him, adults are allowed to make decisions for themselves and that's nothing to do with me. I was…

11 1/8 ounces!

Well you can tell him I did the ground beef as an anti inflammatory baseline! Maybe he'd let you do a week at least? (I so despise that he has this hold over your diet...)
-
Well my first ten days dairy free did nothing and so I switched to the ground beef challenge and march ended with me 20 days into it. Mindfully eating wasn't an issue. Reducing my menu down to three items (ground beef, water, coffee) made my eating insanely simple and removed the distraction of intricate recipes. It…

As a hobby seamstress, I was taught to find the waistline (not the belly), you wrap the string around the middle, then bend a little side to side so it can settle into place, then measure that point. I've been trying to use that for the neck, too. There are affordable myotape measurers on Amazon.

My meals for the next four days.

I'm amazed by how I haven't had trouble being around the food I love. My husband even ate some of my favorite carbage out last night and I was totally content to sip my French press decaf coffee while he and our friend ate pizza, tiramisu, and locally made ice cream.

Here's my Week 3 recap. I am looking forward to the experimentation to see what I can and can't add back, but in general I'm super content with eating this way, and I will miss the simplified grocery bill! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/glossbones/view/week-3-of-ground-beef-challenge-830107

Thanks for always watching out for us!

Chili's burgers probably would have been fine if I hadn't had Bareburger last week. In comparison they were dry and ... canola-tasting. I only ate two of the three 1/4 pound patties I ordered, send the third home in my friend's doggie bag. Now I have heartburn. Was the it the added ingredients? Their (not very tasty,…

When I wasn't logging for a period of time, I pre-logged a seltzer water for every day during my planned no-log streak.

>:) It's total anarchy!!! >:) (There are still two days til April, but yes I think the Ground Beef thread has thrown people off as to when things are starting).

Eating out for lunch again today. Told my friend I only need to eat somewhere that serves burgers, and she picked Chili's. Their burgers look to be quarter pounders. Hope if I want three of them they won't charge me for three separate burgers (their double burgers look to be half-height patties). I'm sure I can rely on my…

Double that. The salmonella isn't from the inside of the egg. Eggs are hermetically sealed incubation chambers. It's the outside of the egg. Just like the outside of the cantaloupe. Okay, then you open the food, and introduce the rind/shell/skin to the inside ingredients and now the bacteria is spread through the whole…

Most people seem to be catering to their own lifestyle allowances. I just wanted to share that spreadsheet because Jodi wasn't the first person to ask how to get that chart of weight vs. trend weight.
-
Welcome aboard the meat train, Jodi and Lillith! FIT_Goat made a Google Spreadsheet which includes a function to chart the weight trend along with the actual weight variations. I bugged him to share that with me, and so I'll pay it forward here: My Tracking Spreadsheet. You'll need to make a copy to track your own…

I avoid canola oils in my mayo. I tried making my own, but haven't hit on anything that comes out 'right' so I am exploring commercially-available mayos again. Sir Kensington's is delicious. I got mine off Thrive Market: https://thrivemarket.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=sir+kensington where I get twice the amount that my…

I haven't experienced that Groundhog Day feeling yet. I think I have so much other stuff on my mind that having a simple meal plan just means I can stress about something else. ;) Congrats on your new low, @Karlottap!

Oh that's awesome, @FIT_Goat! My dad has been a volunteer firefighter for over a decade, and he loves it to bits. You're right, it's a LOT of work to train, and it never truly ends, but what a great cause! I have to laugh, though. You improve your health by cutting out the carbage, and to replace the risk of civilized…

So have you found a decent bacon grease mayo recipe? I was thinking (if I turn out to be okay with coconuts) I'd make it with some MCT to decrease the viscosity. The flavor's enough to deal with, without it drying out a chicken salad instead of adding moisture.

<3 <3 I think I generally react within a 12 hour window. Aspartame will give me a mouth full of canker sores by dinner if I ingest it at breakfast. Reactions might even be stronger with everything but ground beef and coffee out of my system. A nice clean slate for higher contrast results. I think three days should honestly…

I am mindfully still eating my ground beef. I mindfully still love my ground beef. And I mindfully can't $(*@%ing wait to add some eggs to my ground beef. That's my big update. Whoo!
-
Yeah that's sort of my thought. I definitely react fast when I do things right. Thanks! That means I can actually get up to a normal menu again before Christmas. ;) Congrats on your weight loss! Wow is it really eight days for you already??

By "over on calories" are you referring to the calorie goal of 1100 I have set in MFP? I've never used that as an actual calorie target. It's just so I could set my carb and protein macros (outside of this month). I'm aiming to meet or exceed my calculated TDEE, which is between 1600 (according to my Fitbit) and 1900…
-
I just remind myself it's temporary. All the rest of the LCHF menu is waiting for me on the other end. I don't want to become so obsessed with what I'll add back that I overeat when this month is up. I'm going to very carefully add food back in, with similar intake goals, so that I know the only thing I'm changing is the…

Ha! I made a 16 oz burger in the skillet. Now I want one of those (that's a perfect size for my day). Maybe Thursday when I run out of precooked dinners. We have a pizza spatula, I'll probably try it!

I am generally grilling mine with no seasoning, keeping the meat rare. This morning I wanted to cook some meat that I was less confident about, so I wok-cooked it as a crumble with about a 1/2 teaspoon of salt (for a pound). It wasn't too bad but if I drained it I'm sure I'd find it inedible.
