Please share your DR-friendly exercises. I also had a baby 6 months aho and I would love to start back on track soon.

I'm shorter than you (I'm 5'0") and I started around the same weight too. I lost weight all the way down to 116 lbs in a year or so while eating on average ~1800 calories. Keep in mind that I was lifting HEAVY weights 3x a week and kickboxing 2x a week. Plus my job is fairly active (I can get anywhere from 6,000 to 10,000…

Disclaimer: I lift heavy. Answer: No, you don't HAVE to lift heavy to achieve losing fat and maintaining strength. (notice I wrote maintain and NOT building muscle. Big difference) If you are a beginner, you can do wonders for yourself through dumbbells and body weight exercises. Once you start at the intermediate levels…

I'm going to stock up as soon as costco has the bulk Oreos on discount.

DAMN YOU JUGGERNAUT! I caved in an bought some oreo mint thins. Might be the pregnancy talking but I didn't like them even though I do love Girl scouts thin mints. Me thinks they are too sweet...and they are thin so I can't even scrape off the cream without breaking it to pieces. Life is a oreodeal

Your gym sounds amazing

I hate those guys at the gym. Always the same couple of dudes too. Normally, I would just re-rack after them and not say anything but now that I'm 5 months preggo, hell no, I don't think so. So now I actually waddle over there and politely tell them to re-rack with my big preggo belly and hopefully let the shame take over.

I'm gonna get so much hate but I LOVE OREOS...without the cream. The filling is just too sweet and the texture is so grainy. But that cookie part though...they need to sell that by themselves <3

I love Stronglift 5x5. I highly recommend that, especially for beginners. I'm preggo now so I had to back off my goals but still lifting for as long as I can. Good luck ladies. Don't let the gym intimidate you. Walk in there like you own the place. I love it when I see lady lifters in the weight room. Don't be afraid to…

I have a flex. Would love to upgrade for the Charge HR one day.

Oh yes please! Would love to see more ladies in the weight room. FR sent

<3 Way to go! Keep it up!! Stronglift is awesome.

I am almost 12 weeks pregnant. Been going lifting 3x a week and cardio kickboxing (no sparring) 2x a week. I've had to severely decrease (50%) the weights, especially for squats and deadlifting. I hope to keep it up throughout pregnancy. I've already missed a couple of workouts here and there but still going strong.

Kickboxing, but I still wouldn't give up my weights

Sushi buffet. But then again, I'm at a buffet. I'm there with a purpose!

^^ I agree with "Lean..." I enjoy lifting with my man. We started Stronglift 5x5, which I found BTW. Before that, he was lifting without a program, just doing whatever strikes his fancy. I didn't dig that so I found a program that is structured and can see my progress in strength. Of course, he wanted to do it too. Now I…

Congrats ladies! I am currently 8 weeks. I've been having a little nausea over the past week and a half. I look on the bright side and tell myself it sure beats having morning sickness! I've been missing a few workout here and there but currently still doing heavy lifting (50-75% of max) and cardio kickboxing I've been…

I do hope people understand the difference. I cringe everytime I see someone use those terms "loosely"

Nah, not a failure. Sometimes I have to adjust my stance or something and it takes a second or two.

I use Stevia. Either Pure Via or Truvia. Don't get me wrong, I love me some honey but *sigh* sacrifices....

First, congratulations! I think I found out around the same time you did. I am now 6-7 weeks along. :) My first sonogram will be at 9 weeks. I need to get my hands on that sonogram because it just feels surreal. I understand the struggle of staying on track whilst being pregnant. I am doing heavy lifting and kickboxing at…

I love my Blendtec. Love my morning SMOOTHIE That's how I get so much greens in a day. I agree with the comments of juicing vs. blending. It's better to blend to get all those fiber. In the beginning, I started with a 1:3 veggie to fruit ratio. Now it's more like 4:1 veggie to fruit. So whenever I try those samples from…

Off the top of my head... Looking for more carbs? I think fruits and veggies would so it. So would ice cream, cakes, and cookies =P. and BREAD and rice! More fat? Then maybe try nuts or coconut oil. Can you eat butter? I don't mean straight up but cooking it with your food.

I would replace the 40 minutes walk with more lifting. Try some beginner compound programs. Stronglift 5x5, New Rules of Lifting for Women, ICF 5x5, etc. In fact, some of these programs need only 3 days a week.

I don't eat the skin and try to stick with the chicken breast. The hubby gets the scraps. Haha
-
Haha I meant I eat ~140-150 grams of Rotisserie Chicken per day. One chicken will last about 4-5 days. At best, I could eat only HALF a Costco size Rotisserie chicken in one sitting. And only if I was really REALLY hungry. On second thought, maybe not even half. HAHA My favorite rotisserie chicken is from Sprouts but its…

Bent-over tricep kickbacks, dips, skullcrushers, tricep extension, etc. Or take a look at bodybuilding.com at the tricep section.

I eat Rotisserie chicken from Costco for lunch on a regular basis. It's about 212 calories for 150 grams. Yes, it's a LOT especially for a shorty like my (only 5 feet tall). I have now decreased my portion to 140 grams. Easy +35 grams of protein!

I'm 5'0" and I ate on average 1600 calories a day when I first started. I lost about 10 lbs in about 3 months or so while doing Insanity. I dropped my calories to 1400 when I finished the program and have now picked up lifting weights. I love lifting weights but I HATED my deficit in calories it cuz I was hungry all the…

Right now I'm at 145 lbs, started SL 5x5 in beginning of August. Trying to work on my grip strength. My goal is to get to 200 lbs by the end of the year. =)
