Lol we all have those weird things that bother us. I can't think of any off the top of my head but I will confess that I think the word delicious is kinda sexy.

It sounds like what you're doing might be too strict for you. You should be able to enjoy anything as long as it fits into your daily calories. Coffee hardly has any calories, why in the world would you quit that? If someone told me to quit drinking coffee I would Judo chop them!

I used to think I was chubby, too when I was really thin and in shape. I look back at that time and wish I would have realized how good I looked. But think of it this way. When you hit your goal weight you'll appreciate it more than if you had never gained weight! Don Don't let it get you down :)

That is really impressive! I have another confession. During workouts you have to push yourself . I used to try to do this by picturing how I want to look during the summer and at my friends wedding, and who I want to impress. I would tell myself how good I'll feel later and the health benefits. The only thing that truly…

@amehh91 I guess my second confession is that I am a serial lurker. Lol! I find all the message boards informative and/or highly entertaining. I have a vegetarian friend that loves to watch me cook, even with meat involved. If it's weird you're not alone. Masterchef is good, but Masterchef junior is amazing! Those kids are…

I do the same thing! I have google+ set up specifically for 'food porn' - i stare at things i could never eat and go though recipes (and sometimes even run them through MFP to prove to myself that it would be such a setback) but the experience of doing all that kind of does make me feel like I had experienced it! Wow I don't know what happened to the rest of my last post. That was weird. Anyway here's the rest... I like the term "memory eating". Maybe that's what I'm doing. Since I started counting calories I plan my meals and snacks days in advance so that I don't go over. I get cravings all the time, but doing a Google Image…

First, welcome to the thread! Second, I'm kind of the same way: I watch cooking shows all the time, but never get the urge to eat. I can "memory" eat. For example: when everyone was posting about doughnuts earlier I can just stop, distinctly remember what it felt and tasted like the last time I ate a doughnut and that's it…

I have read every single post on this thread (it's been very entertaining), and have just now decided to contribute. Confession: I am the only person I know that benefits from looking at pictures and recipes of delicious foods and watching cooking shows. It helps me control my appetite, like it's some kind of replacement…

*enter your weight
-
Do you enter you're into mfp (I believe you can change it under progress)? I was under the impression that if you do that it will recalculate automatically for you.
-
I would definitely ask your doctor about lowering your weekly goal. You've been working so hard and have made great progress! Good for you *high five*! Losing weight is so very hard and finding balance and sustainability along the way is important so you don't fall back into bad habits. If you'll be happier at 1.5 or 1…

Ash, I see. That sounds like a good way to improve on a recovery day. Thanks AllanMisner!
-
I'm new to all of this and apparently have a lot to learn. What is foam rolling? This is good advice, thank you! It actually sounds like the perfect day off (not just from working out, but from work too). :)
-
What do you mean by "address mobility?"
-
@cwolfman13 Thank you! I'll do a YouTube search of recovery yoga and do that in the morning instead of the treadmill (I'm more relieved than I thought I'd be with this decision). I'll consider house cleaning and yard work as "light activity", but that can get pretty vigorous too. Lol
-
I plan on cleaning my entire house and doing some yard work so I won't be lounging around all day. I'm just wondering if I should hop on the treadmill first thing in the morning or not.
-
I posted this on the wrong thread like a derp. Sorry! Lol congrats to you on your compliment and now you get to read my brag too
-
I love this thread. Today I took a picture of my face and compared it to 4 weeks ago. I have cheek bones now! I also received my first compliment from someone that's noticed my weight loss! I've only lost 12 pounds (and have a long way to go) so I'm so surprised and pleased that there's a noticeable difference!

The first time I heard of Leptin was a couple of weeks ago. I was very skeptical because I'd never heard of it before and it was being used to sell a product. I think more studies need to be done before we can draw conclusions about it. It's interesting, but I don't think anything has been proven.
-
Lol me too! *high five!
-
I also have a bunch of recipes lined up to try. Once my leftovers are gone I'm on to the next one, and at the rate I'm going the list is never going to end.
-
I'm so glad I'm not alone! It's a good thing mfp has a recipe feature :)
-
I'm doing 1200 calories (I'm 5'1") and the first week was really hard. I was used to just eating however much of whatever I wanted. The second week my appetite completely changed and 1200 calories feels right, and sometimes even too much if I'm eating a lot of veggies that are really low calorie.
-
@sinistrous I thought I was going crazy and wanted to know if anyone had experienced this food obsession. I've never been so obsessed before and was a bit worried about it.
-
Phew! I prefer the foodie to crazy food obsessed lady. Lol. Never thought of myself as a foodie before. Now I need to find some cooking shows :)
-
This is a great thread! Can I get away with weighing things in ounces? (8 Oz for 1 cup). It's so much easier for me.
-
Thanks everyone! This has been very helpful. You guys are awesome :)
-
I'm going to try this. Does it matter when you do this? Before or after running or just as part of your workout?
