Lol just read your last reply. Sorry didn't want to dishearten. Hilly walking should burn calories so fingers crossed. It's the cider I'd be more worried about :)

Also the scales may be different so would wait till you're home.

Get all crisps biscuits sweets etc out of the house unless you've a lot of will power. Make the others suffer too!!!! Good luck.

Many people start off with a run/walk method. Hal higdon is very popular and also various c25k apps for your phone. Good Luck.

Kids in the UK are taught about healthy eating but then they go home and parents often don't support this. It's the parents that buy everything in the cupboards. We should all be stronger for our kids. I say this as a guilty parent. When I look back I could have done far more to promote healthy eating in my home.

I've been on 1200 for 5 weeks and lost 5 lbs. I do eat back excercise calories though. I am eating vegetables most days with chicken usually. Having oats and fruit for breakfast and usually a cheese or tuna sandwich for lunch. I think I'm eating better than I ever have. I could do this for a long time if I wanted. I've…

5'8" started at 142. Want to get down to 130 now at 137.

Greek yogurt with a little mint sauce in it. Celery and carrot sticks to dip.

I find it harder to stay within my calories with more snack meals...breakfast, lunch and dinner with some sort of treat in the evening seems to be working for me.
-
I've lost 5lbs in my first month and hopefully will lose about the same in the next. I will have then reached my target. So I think it's doable. I have been strict with my calories. I have exercised 4-5 times a week and eaten back most of them so I'm not starving myself in any way. Eaten lots of vegetables and salads and…

Than Thanks will take a look.

I was reading on here that cheat days can be good as they make your Leptin levels go up which Is something to do with burning fat. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will add or comment on this. I was thinking of starting a cheat day once a week. As long as over the week you are still in deficit it seemed to make sense.

In the UK I think default is semi skimmed 2% and skinny is skimmed.

Heaps of greens, cucumber, tomatoes and pepper with chicken breast without skin. Just topped off with Balsamic vinegar. Less than 300 calories. Always my meal of choice when I'm struggling with my calories.

Anybody in the UK know where I can get a single bar rather than a 12 pack off Amazon? Thought I would try one out first! Thanks.

I'm new to this so no expert by any means but isn't two tablespoons of cod liver oil a day excessive.. By my reckoning it's about 240 calories worth. most people just take a small capsule which is probably no bigger than one teaspoon. That fat must be about 27g of fat. My daily total is only 40 although yours may be…

You must be missing lots of healthy vitamins. Please see a Dr who should refer you to the right people. As fruit and vegetables all taste different I would have thought this was a psychological problem. With help you should be able to overcome this. In the meantime to start getting used to tastes would blending help. Maybe…

Any run/walk method should get you off to a good start. Lots of apps available.a few have been mentioned. I have been running for 3 years.. Usually 5k and I still can't have a conversation so don't worry. However be careful not to run too fast. You won't see improvement day to day but don't give up. The date sounds perfect…

Check out the post called 'calling all oat meal lovers' loads of ideas on there. Personally I like apple or sultanas and cinnamon.
-
I love simple Balsamic dressing.
-
What a good idea. Would never have thought of freezing bananas for smoothies. Can't tell you how many I throw out.
-
Thank you so much. I must try frozen fruits, blueberries and mangos seem a favourite. Veg I will just have to try and see. I can always use the remaining in stews.
-
That's a very good point thanks. I don't normally have smoothies but it would be a great way to use any frozen that I decide I don't like. I'm thinking of putting some in with my oats in a morning. Rhubarb sounds delicious....

I'm only on 1200 a day so eat most of mine back. When I exercise I feel I need more than 1200 and i also use it as a buffer for the few days I go over by a little. My main aim is not to go over on the week.

When I make myself a salad at home I tend to use the same amounts...ie four cherry tomatoes etc. once I've logged them once it's easy to tick them off next time.
-
I had cinnamon and apple and a little honey in my oatmeal this morning. Yummy and very filling.

I'm going to treat myself to a new pair of running trainers. I'm in the UK and they tend to be quite expensive. Have one pair already but would love a second pair..I'm at 10stone now. When I get to 9st 9 I'm ordering. Not sure why 9stone 9. I think it's because it's single digits and seems so much lighter than 9st 10

Hi I'm sorry I can't help you with your problem but I did wonder if changing the title might help the right people notice for you. I thought you were just introducing yourself. Many of the more experienced might not even take a look. Perhaps underweight in the title or even laxative will help. Not sure if you can edit it.…

I've been on MFP for two weeks. 48 year old... On 1200. Exercise 3 or 4 times a week. Would appreciate some more friends if anyone wants to add me.. Thanks

My experience a few years ago. From being sedentary I started running about 4 times a week. At the same time I stopped eating the rubbish food like biscuits and crisps and ate like you fruit, veg etc. I thought I was doing really well but didn't lose weight... It's only since using MFP in the last few weeks that I have…
