I'm so nervous to try stuff on because I'm just afraid what I want will look horrendous and I'll get discouraged. Guess I need to bite the bullet and take a shot.

Whooo!!! Great work!

W7D1 Twenty five minutes! S T R A I G H T!!!!! 1.7 miles with no walking and I feel fantastic. Utterly amazed at my progress :-)

I've been wearing Brooks and I love them but I second getting fitted. Find a local running store and they will be happy to get you set in the right shoes.

Congrats! It's so rewarding!
-
Awesome job! Doesn't it feel great to complete those longer runs!
-
That's great! Congrats!!

Awesome!

It's amazing what a cheering section can do to your motivation in the moment. It's like this newfound energy that makes everything seem less daunting.
-
That's awesome! Congrats!

I AM SO EXCITED!!!! Just did week 6 day 2 and my run average pace (I'm going outside as much as possible) went from 15:24 the last time I was outside to 13:47 today! So beyond happy right now.
-
Just slow it down! You can do this! One of my favorite quotes I've seen about starting running is "you may be slow but you're still lapping everyone on the couch" stick with it! You can do it!!

Race was postponed due to unsafe road conditions... Stupid first day of spring snow storm :-/ oh well I will go to the gym and lift today. Back to c25k tomorrow.
-
Congrats!! It's an amazing feeling!

I had a rough time with week 4 had to repeat it but now I'm sailing right through. My next run is week 6 day 2.
-
Skipping tonight's run because I have a 5k in the morning. I signed up for one every month to keep myself motivated. As long as my time improves with each one Im thrilled.
-
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone! Seeing everyone's daily progress is a huge motivation for me to keep going! Thanks so much and keep it up!!!

Week 6 day 1 complete! I fee like I am sailing through these runs now!!
-
That sounds very positive. Thanks for the heads up
I needed to slow down the pace....kinda sucks because I don't want to be "slow" but I'd rather be slow and finish than gasping for breath halfway through.

Week 4 almost killed me.....had to do it twice but I just did week 5 like it was nothing! Now I cannot wait to do w6d1 tonight.
-
I have the same issue. I think there is something screwed up with the app itself. It's definitely annoying, I've been trying to "time" myself with songs...not exactly accurate but it's been ok.

When are you getting married? I still have a year to go and I'm having a very tiny wedding so I'm not planning on anything very fancy.
-
Welcome! And thank you for your service! I've only recently starting using the boards and find it a huge help in staying motivated.
-
Amazing!!! Congrats :-)
-
Awesome! Way to go!!

Just did the 20 minute week 5 day 3! Jogging was slow....15:13 pace but I did the whole 20 minutes...had to slow down for giant puddles and my feet are cold and wet but I feel fantastic!

I'm so sorry. That really sucks. Take this time to focus on you. Last time I went through a nasty breakup I was in the best shape of my life. Took all the emotions to the gym and killed it. It helped my emotional state immensely. I was stronger and had a lot more confidence.
-
Congrats! That's amazing :-)
-
Great! Do you see the difference between the treadmill and running outside?
I do enjoy running outside just haven't been doing it since its been so nasty here in NJ. I've been itching for the better weather for a while now lol. I can't believe I'm saying this but I can wait for the 20 minute run on Sunday!

That's awesome! Great work!
