  • I cut for about 3 months and lost 13 pounds. After that I could feel myself getting burned out - even having a gym. I took one month to eat at maintenance before starting my current cut. Even at maintenance I tried to log everything because I knew if I didn't I would slip back into my old eating habits and everything would…
  • I find it is difficult to keep water weight off during my period; however the most effective way in general is to lower your sodium, sugar, and alcohol. I remember my first two weeks of cutting I lost a few pounds just by cutting those things completely out or decreasing them.
  • I am almost 5'7'' and I am at 135. I am debating whether to even do 125 because I am already starting to look pretty thin. For your height 120's seems too low. Below 120 for me is considered underweight so I imagine being in the 120's for you would be. I would definitely suggest measuring and getting your body fat…
  • Soda was the easiest for me. Now I only taste the syrup and it becomes less appealing. Lowering my sugar around the same time as my period hasn't been easy. I drove past some dried Mudd the other day and started craving brownies. Lol. But it's temporary. I have read drinking a lot of water helps. I like to load mine with…
  • Italian shaved ice at the market. Luigis I believe. Greek yogurt in lemon or key lime. Or I chew gum.
  • I went to a dinner party last night and the food was actually pretty healthy with small portions. It was the wine that I went crazy with. It's been three weeks since I had red. I felt pretty crappy this morning and it made me realize how much I don't need wine anymore. I felt so dehydrated. Anyways, I put everything in as…
  • I am cutting as well. Going into my third week. I fast for breakfast; if it's a gym day I eat a light lunch (pb and j, banana, greek yogurt) and go crazy for dinner - lots of protein and carbs (brown rice, potatoes, chicken, fish). Non-gym days I try to do an even amount of calories for lunch and dinner. I work out 4 days…
  • I would say unless he plans on joining you in the wonderful journey of self discovery he can take his comments and shove it. Honestly, it's rude and if he isn't making any initiative to help himself then its probably easy for him to sit back and critique you. I'm not sure what you can do other than tell him that his…
  • Just spent 175 yesterday for two weeks worth (me and boyfriend). It's usually over 200 but we cut out alcohol. I would say its mostly due to us not eating as much as we did and there are some good deals going on (Publix). It's a game I like to play each time I go -- seeing how much healthy food I can get under 200 bucks.
  • I only have one cup maybe 1-2 times a week. I never used to drink it but there's a machine at work and sometimes I need the energy. One splenda and one of those small creamer cups. I never overdo it though because it makes me edgy. I would eventually like to get to just black coffee.
  • I learned my lesson with salads. Once at Longhorn and the other at O'Charleys. I have discovered that most restaurant salads are deceptive and aren't anywhere near as healthy as you think. Even for the half portion it was almost 1000 calories. A freakin salad. Combined with the rolls it was no wonder I wasn't losing any…
  • I have found that drinking only skim has made me less tolerant of whole milk and its smell. It's much stronger than I remember. Skim is much lighter in many ways and I think that is why I prefer it.
  • I count everything. Even the ten calories my lettuce has. It all adds up and I just like being in the habit of logging what I eat.
  • Skim milk. Or as my boyfriend calls it "water with milk." I used to drink whole but it's been years. Now I can't drink anything but Skim. I also enjoy almond or soy but don't drink regularly. I love milk and don't plan on giving it up anytime soon.
  • Seconded. But I would also say that it generally just takes time and patience, as cliche as that sounds. I have been cutting sugar for three weeks now and it has been tough, but my body has thanked me in ways too. You get so used to eating certain foods and your body just has to adjust. It's also a huge source of comfort,…
  • I try to weigh in each morning but some days I am in a hurry and forget. I would say 2-3 times a week. I usually skip the week leading up to a certain "event" because I tend to gain water weight and don't want it to deter my motivation. Then I wait and see if there is a downward trend after it has passed. I would say to…
  • I skip breakfast since I fast. Lunch - burrito bowl at Moe's or chicken sandwich at CFA. Packed lunch with a pb and j and some fruit. Lunch on the weekends is usually a gluten-free pizza, some variety of baked chicken, and lots of grains. Dinner - usually the best and most packed meal calories-wise since I have more time…
  • I would like to just comment on eating out. I think if I didn't have the app I would definitely check websites for nutrition info if you don't already. I always think eating a salad at a restaurant is a good idea and then I find out they are just as bad as some entrees. Just common sense stuff, really, but its easy to slip…
  • I have a Meyer lemon tree but they aren't quite the same. They almost taste like oranges. If I had a farm I would plant lemons trees. But it's too cold here.
  • I used to run. I ran for about 4 years and never watched my diet. I was in OK shape but never great considering all the running I did. I originally wanted to just build strength with weightlifting but six months on now and I barely run. Weight-lifting is addictive for me. So, since I built all of this muscle I want to be…
  • I like to make a pb and j with chips squished in between. It adds texture. Haven't had it in a while though. Used to eat buns with just ketchup and mustard. Lemons straight. I have an unhealthy obsession with lemons.
  • I'm going into my second week of low sugar. I think what has motivated me is how much better I feel. I can actually fall asleep and stay asleep at night. I don't have any bloat around my tummy. I think once you can cut soda it's easier. It's just finding the hidden stuff. This app has helped me for sure. Logging everything…
  • Noted. I need to stop spending so much on apparel (so much fun though).
  • I love leggings no matter what I am doing, but especially squats or any leg workout. You can do whatever in those things and don't have to worry about skin showing. I've had UA and those last a lifetime. Nike are good. Victoria's Secret has really increased their sports apparel and so far I am pleased with the leggings. A…
  • I like to use their motivation to motivate myself. It can be uplifting to be surrounded by weightlifters and be a part of the environment. The guys at my gym are usually either helpful or really into their own workout so they don't notice anything else. Def listen to music - helps me zone out.
  • Anything dairy, especially sour cream. I used to drench my potato and tacos in that lovely mess. Pasta, red wine, chocolate cake.
  • Mayo for sure. One thing I will never have to miss when cutting. Onions Raw spinach Springmix lettuce *shutters*
  • This is the most frustrating aspect. Especially when the scale at the gym says one thing and the digital another. I think the gym scale is more accurate unfortunately. But as another poster said it's probably best to wait until you see a downward trend. I know I put on at least 3 pounds around my period with water. I think…
  • My goal is five pounds as well. I've done lots of weight lifting the past five Months but my diet hasn't been great. The past two weeks I have started cutting so Def eating cleaner and less. I've also cut added sugar which has been hard. I've had headaches but I've been sleeping a lot better. I plan on sticking with low…
  • I'm 5'6 and I'm at about 146. It's not terrible because I know some of it is muscle but I hate that I have built up this strength and it's surrounded by fat. I want to be able to see my hard work. So my goal is 130. I know if I told anyone that I'm trying to lose it they would probably look at me funny. But I know it's…
