Congrats! I'm set to run my first ultra trail next month ("only" 66 km though so less than half of your race) and let me admit I'm scared  it sure helps to hear other people did run that and more and enjoyed the experience!

You need to build some muscle underneath - that will give you better body shape. Heavy squats & deadlifts are your friends. If you can't make it to the gym and have healthy knees, go for plyo moves (jump squats, jump lunges etc) twice a week. Don't forget to warm up! Good luck

Yeah I get headaches every time my deficit is too high (say more than 600 - 700 kcal under maintenance). It doesn't matter if the deficit is created by low intake or by long strenuous exercise. I always end up with a headache in the evening and have a hard time falling asleep. I don't think the reasons above explain my…

1:43:55 half marathon yesterday. That's a PR for me - 10 months after I gave birth to my third baby. So happy :)

I'd suggest eating close to maintenance for a few weeks to let your body recover from the stress of weight loss. It also seems to get the metabolism going - it's happened to me that I started eating a little more and a bit of weight went down right away. After those few weeks you may find you lose while doing the same…

You're probably on the right track. I always slow down during training as the body is tired - once you rest enough the pace picks up incredibly. Don't be afraid to slow down it's actually good for you. My college trainer used to make us run 1-2 fast runs every week (tempo and/ or intervals) and the rest was as slow as…

Hi Cheyenne, just wanted to ask if you've seen the stretch mark pic Chrissy Teigen posted on her instagram? If not google it. Goes to show even successful and skinny models have them :) Btw I do too - and all of them are from puberty, even though I was pregnant three times. You focus on losing now - but not the pounds,…

Congrats on your weightloss - you look amazing! Now it's more about loving yourself and maybe adding a bit more muscle to shape your body the way you want? Personally, I feel way better about myself if I add some strength training to the mix. It doesn't have to be in the gym, try looking up bodyrock tv or zuzka light…

I think it's a great idea! I can also get discouraged by what the scale says as I tend to retain a lot of water weight depending on my training schedule. Just go by how the clothes fit and maybe add a few measurements you can also track once a month? Just an idea ;) good luck!

@ManagingIntake please please please consider leaving your husband. I know it's hard as I have a first hand experience with abusive relationships growing up. It does NOT get better. No matter what you do, no matter how you look. My mom married a guy 17 yrs her senior (big love). She provided for our whole family…

Thanks! The best thing is I didn't even need the gym. I worked out at home - even with my baby - I just did some free youtube workouts and a got a few awesome apps for my iPad. Lots of plyo

The first pic is before kids, the second is a year and a half after baby No. 2. The second pic is also my motivation right now - after baby No. 3 ;) I was 58 - 60 kg in both

Hi, I've never done insanity, however as a former adventure racer and a representant of my country I know a thing or two about intense training. What you've described sounds like cumulative fatigue which may lead to overtraining. Overtraining is usually accompanied by loss of appetite and a decrease in performance (not…

I'm in! Goal 210 min/ week

This is a prefect challenge! I'm a day late to it but I guess I'll try to make this one a week long challenge anyway as this is such an important thing (and definitely one I need to work on).

It really depends on your bone structure. I am 5'7 too but have a tiny frame. I look and feel my best around 128 - 130 lbs; around 150 lbs (post pregnancy) I looked overweight. On the other hand, my late stepmother was 5'7 as well and looked pretty much perfect around 155 lbs - slim but not skinny. When she got down to 135…

I'm in! 5'7 and 136 lbs, I also want to lose 10 before summer. Added you

Hi girls, I'm a mother of three and still breastfeeding my youngest (8mo). After my second, I managed to get a six pack stomach about a year post partum so I will give my two cents  I ate fairly clean, added about 500 kcal for BF (even after starting solids) and also additional calories for exercise. I did HIIT five…

Hi girls! I'm a 31 years old mom of 3 trying to lose the last 10 lbs post pregnancy. I weigh 136 lbs (5'7) and want to get back down to 125 lbs. I would love to find MFP friends to keep me accountable and to support each other on our weight loss journeys, feel free to add me.
