The scale and me

So I have made a decision and I think it's for the best. 10 years ago when I lost 102lbs, I was obsessed with the number on the scale. NOW I have Crohn's disease, IBS and gastroparisis and the scale can vary from day to day, moment to moment depending on what's going on inside my tummy. I have decided to NOT make this about the number on the scale and more about following the plan and exercising. I am only going to weigh myself once a month!

Any thoughts?

I think it's a great idea! I can also get discouraged by what the scale says as I tend to retain a lot of water weight depending on my training schedule. Just go by how the clothes fit and maybe add a few measurements you can also track once a month? Just an idea ;) good luck!

Good for you, I say! Do what's best for you. Maybe see it as getting healthier rather than losing weight. Good luck :)

The scale is only one measure of success. I'd advise you to take monthly progress pics, do measurements and watch your clothes sizes. I think everyone has a size in mind they'd like to fit into. Mine was an 8. Some people just want to get to a 12.

Honestly, if you follow what MFP tells you to eat per day, everyday, you will lose weight. It will almost become habit after a month or 2.
