I eat bagels and pizza all the time. It's in my blood! hahah. But potato chips are nasty now to me. Too salty, and you can taste the oil. Baked potato chips are a bit better.

This was already covered. If it's part of your normal life, it's not exercise. If it isn't, then it's exercise.

Im a G cup. I am going to have surgery after I've lost the weight. My back hurts and my boobs look too big for my frame. I hate it. My insurance wont cover it [I have Medicare, it's crap], so I am getting it done at a teaching hospital for $1,600 which is cheap compared to a private practice. I don't mind, because the…

Athlete? IDK. I burn about 900 cals on the bike in an hour [I am overweight, not using the machines calculation but my own based on tme and distance], but I go almost 17.5 mph. So I rack up about 18 miles distance wise and push 120 rpms]. And then I take 8000 steps on top of that, which adds about 300 more calories for a…

Starvation mode was proven to be a myth already, and you can't take your anecdotal evidence and claim it isn't true for anyone, which we already know. What does happen is adaptive thermogensis and in times of famine or extreme starvation [Holocaust, Irish potato famine, etc], the body utilizes muscles from organs as a last…

I'm a born and bred Long Islander. I'd die without pizza, pasta and bagels. As long as you measure your food out on a food scale and are eating less than you burn, you will lose weight.
-
Yeah but do you also complain about not losing weight? probably not. And I have heart problems so I can't even clean, let alone help someone else.
-
Yeah, that is an example of what I'm talking about.
-
Yeah except these are the same folks complaining how they can't lose weight. To me, that stuff shouldn't be counted as exercise because it's apart of every day living. You don't log taking a shower as exercise, or cooking as exercise. Now if it's something like deep cleaning or something that really is physical like moving…
-
I'm talking about people who count vaccuming as exercise and the like.
-
One of the things I see a lot on my feed is people logging daily activities like house work, yard work, etc. That never makes sense to me. I only log actual exercise.
-
I use a food scale too but if the label is off, you're still going to have a margin of error.
-
Really? that's what gets you? I guess you don't know the FDA allows a 20 percent discrepancy on labels, including calorie counts.
-
On the days I have a deficit of 1000+ cals, I eat about half back because I don't know how much I really burn. When I have a 300-400 cal deficit, I don't eat any back.
-
I burn 600 cals on the bike but I average a 16.5 mph pace and I also am oveweight. Depends on the size of the person.
-
The reason obese people can do this is because they have excess fat. 800 calories is fine if you're morbidly obese, under a dr's care and are taking vitamins. However, it is not okay for a normal weight person to do this and considering that WLS patients sometimes do regain weight, they're def eating enough to put it on.
-
I think the problem is two fold. 1. you really don't know how much you're eating because you're not weighing your food and 2. your defecit might not be accurate. calorie burns are estimates.
-
If you're truly measuring all solids and liquids on a food scale, and you're not having any binge days, something sounds seriously wrong.
-
How are you measuring your foods? are you using cups and spoons or a food scale? because it's very easy to eat more than you think if you're not using a food scale.
-
Most of my weight goes to my boobs, sadly.
-
I dont know, but I'm 5'7" and 162 lbs and wear a small in tops, despite being an F cup. I wear an 8 in jeans. Clothing sizes make no sense.

If you don't die, puke or faint, keep going.

This made my day!

So let me get this straight: You joined Planet Fitness, a judgement free zone, then proceed to judge the hell out everyone who goes there, who according to you, actually takes advantage of the pizza and bagels, and the black card spa like you're supposed to. Which is also yanno....part of the attraction of Planet Fitness.…

And it's your business because.....?
-
Okay first of all, to use a massage chair you have to be a black card member. wtf is wrong with wanting to use one after a workout? second of all, not every PF franchise particiates in pizza and bagels. Mine does not. I get in there, do my workout, and go home. I dont use the black card spa, I bought a black card…
-
Mine doesn't offer pizza and bagels, which I guess is fine. No one says you have to eat them.

Meh, my vitamin D level is pitiful. Like 8. and I have stomach issues and chronic illnesses, it doesn't effect me losing or gaining weight, too many calories is the culprit. and regardless of thyroid issues, it's the same thing. even if a hypo swing puts your bmr at 1600, eat 1200 [or exercise], take in less calories you…

My friend belongs to Blink Fitness and likes it :)

Isn't it a simple concept? if you don't like PF because of it's policies, then don't go there...that's all there is to it.
