Back in my day, I had a Mattel Fanner 50 and was always one of the good guys.

Back in my day... I didn't need to watch my weight!

My aunt was quite handy with the spatula!

Congrats. Very happy for you. But, you knew you could do it...right?

Back in my day, $10.00 bought me and my girlfriend dinner (At the local smorgasbord), gas for cruising 'til about 10:30 PM and a root beer at XXX Drive In on the way home. Even further back in my day, $1.00 got you two bus tokens (10 cents each way), into the monster matinee (25 cents), a candy bar (10 cents) and a soda…

One of the big deals is If you eat too little you can lose weight too fast and lose too much muscle in the process. Speaking from my own experience

Steel cut if I'm doing them overnight in the crock-pot, else rolled, old fashioned or whatever in the microwave.

There's probably a plethora of things that can cause this, and we can all speculate about this, that and the other thing with our non-professional guesses. Perhaps a visit to the doctor is in order?

When I hit maintenance, I did okay for a year or so, then the creep set in and the next thing I knew I was back up about 33 pounds. I tried to blame it on living my summers at the beach and too many rotating parties, but I only have myself to blame though because it was preventable if I'd just kept kept logging and…

^^This^^ Crock-pots rock!! I have four of them and it's not unusual for me to have two going at the same time. One of the best reasons for owning a freezer.

You'll say your 40s were a piece of cake!
-
Yep. Protein and fiber, and in that order, are the best things to keep you satiated longer. Try drinking two eight ounce glasses of water 20 - 30 minutes before you eat. It seems to make me less hungry when I eat. Good luck!
-
I originally lost 41 pounds here doing a weekly cheat day, but only if I lost weight that particular week. The trick is to not go over your maintenance calories for that day. I'd log it as well otherwise you don't know if you went above maintenance.

The very bottom of the freezer. Since I'm old, I forget it's there until I clean it out again. :) Then I take a couple of pieces and back down to the bottom it goes!

Rice and quinoa are high in carbs. Might be a good idea to put the rice in your diary first, then build the rest of your diary to keep you within limits.
-
^This^. When I first started losing weight the first time, I ate all my exercise calories and actually gained. When I cut it to half, I started losing again.

He might look somewhat better in that he would be thinner, but, his skin, eyes etc. probably wouldn't look as good as good as he would if he was getting the good nutrients.

I guess you need to clarify what you mean. If you're talking about including some snacky stuff in moderation than yes. But just because you are meeting your limits, doesn't mean you aren't doing yourself a disservice if it's all junk food. Losing weight and eating healthier go hand in hand in your journey. Otherwise,…

Whit rice, brown rice, quinoa and etc. are all okay in moderation. Just make sure you stay within your nutrient limits. If you're concerned that you might go over, put the rice in your diary first, then adjust everything else to fit. Also, that's a good way to incorporate snacks into your diet; load it first...

Whatever MFP tells you, go for half.

Protein and fiber, in that order, will keep you satiated longer then other foods. Make sure you are getting plenty of both. Try drinking two 8 oz. or more glasses of water about twenty to thirty minutes before a meal. This seems to make me less hungry when it's mealtime. Good luck.

I try to curb junk food eating by making sure it's not in the house. I also allow myself a cheat day once a week, but stay within maintenance limits, and that seems to help. Many people disagree with cheat days, but if it works for you, who cares what they think. Have you tried taking a look at what's going on when you…

I live in a small town and all we have is a QFC (Kroger), but they are so expensive that it actually pays to drive about 35 miles away, once a month, to Wal-Mart first and Costco second. The only things I buy locally, are produce or when I need something right away.

Once a week. After the morning "routine", before I get dressed and before breakfast. My weight fluctuates every day and all I really care about is, "Have I lost any weight this week"?
-
No effect... I'm retired! :-)

My doctor told me I was pre-diabetic and I read an article, while in my dentist's office, about visceral fat and it's havoc on your organs.
-
Much noticeable difference. Good work!

IMO, it's harder to maintain than it is to lose. I think it's also important to continue logging and weighing as well as weighing and measuring food.
-
^^This^^ I have a Fitbit too, and I find that it and MFP grossly over-count calorie burns. For the EXTRA things you do, consider counting only half of what the apps say.

I go with half as well.
