Being close to finishing my journey! 10 pounds to go!

I voted exercise. Why? Because I have experienced weight loss using both methods independent of each other and lost weight faster with exercise alone. Maybe that's just me though. Howsomever, both is the best.

Happiness! Such a remarkable journey you're on!

Happiness!! Don't forget to transition to a maintenance plan! That's why I'm back again.

I originally lost 61 pounds here several years ago. I went from being real tight in size 38 pants (216) down to size 32 (155) fitting perfect. So I allowed myself to "grow" back into size 34 pants but when they started to get tight and my doctor said "Your pre-diabetic again." That did it. 34 pants are feeling good again…

The first battle is to get serious enough to do something. So you've won that battle. No go on and win the war!

That's perfect!! Thanx so much!

Found an app, Pacer Pedometer, that links with MFP. I can use my step counter and manually enter the info into the app and it will load the info to the exercise section of MFP. I think it's gonna work just fine.

I love before and after pictures like this. You've put in a lot of hard work and it's plain to see that you are very determined. People like you are very inspiring to the rest of us. Good luck with the rest of your journey!!

That's what I've been doing. Just hoping to be able to add steps.

Everything was a whole lot better when Mike owned this thing. I think it's gone way downhill since UA has owned it.

To be at healthy BMI range, 160 or less, in time for my early November trip to Mexico for dental work. Being at goal, 150, would be better but I like to set goals I know I can reach.

Everyone in my present group had only seen me when I was ~216 pounds. When I was getting close to goal (155) everyone was telling me I was looking gaunt. I tried to explain BMI and that my doctor was saying I was getting right where I should be. Then they started challenging my doctor's competency. I finally shut them up…

I posed this question when I did my big weight drop eight years ago. It was suggested to me that I should vary my daily calorie intake but still stick to my weekly total. The first week there was no difference but by the second week, I dropped four pounds and I started losing a pound and a half a week regularly again.…

I dunno. I lost 61 pounds here in '12 and didn't do maintenance so I gained 33 of them back. Just decided I didn't like the way I was looking so it was time to get rid of them. I've lost 16 of them so far. Definitely doing maintenance this time!

That's why I'm here again too. However, this time I know better than to leave.

From my own experience, and what I've seen on the boards here, MFP is extremely generous with exercise calories. I, and others, only use about half of what MFP calculates.

I've been known to have a doughnut or two on my Friday cheat day. Glazed Old Fashioned doughnuts to be exact.

I could use a few more people to trade some support with. I log most every day and am quite supportive if there is some reciprocation. Please read my profile section about friend requests first.

I had a date with this girl to go out to meet my friends, and their dates, for a night of drinks and dancing. When I arrived to pick her up for our date, she was dressed so provocatively, all I could think of was that she as going to get me into a fight inside of fifteen seconds. So, without saying a word, I just turned…

OP - So I have been thinking about this a little the past few days (probably still carrying a little guilt of my own around) and I was wondering if when he starts in, could you just say "Dad, I don't like the way you're treating me right now (Explain what he's doing) and I'm going home. We'll try it again tomorrow."…

The worst part of it, is you think you're the one that's the messed up one. When you finally break out of it and you realize you're actually better off, life improves. It's like the clouds move away and the sun starts to shine.

I faced a similar situation only it was my mother and my older half-brother. I had a conversation with them about it and told them that things were gonna have to change if I was gonna stay in their life. I gave it a reasonable amount of time, and when things didn't change, I closed the door. It hurt like hell, especially…
